INTO THE DEPTHS OF LOVE : CHAPTER 31 – 40

•RICHARD’S VILLA•

Richard has been pacing around the house, calling Kristin. He was back to his senses and he cursed himself a million times for pushing Kristin out of the house.

“Fucking pick up, firefly!” He angrily said, almost destroying the innocent center table.

He has been calling her nonstop, it was ringing, but she wasn’t picking up.

“Firefly” He muttered her name worriedly, his hands running through his hair, with every given seconds.

The doorbell rang, and Richard rushed towards the door.

“Firefly, I am….” He stops half way when he opens the door and discovers it’s Luke.

“Who is Firefly? Wait, you change it from Peanut to Firefly? What name are you going to give her next time?” Luke asked, smiling.

“Why are you here?” Richard asked.

“You didn’t show up at work today, and I was so worried about you. I waited for the rain to stop before coming here. Where’s Kristin? Did she go out? But is impossible for her to go out alone, she is still new in Vegas”

Richard let out a sigh filled with regret.

“I chase her out”

Luke furrowed his brows wondering what Richard meant, until he explained everything to him.

“How could you do such a thing to Kristin? She doesn’t know anyone in Vegas!” Luke scolded.

“I wasn’t thinking when I did that to her. I was so consumed by anger”

“This is why I keep telling you to know how to control your anger, Richard! You lose your mind whenever you’re angry!” Luke scolded again.

It was an opportunity for him to scold Richard, he dared not to do so on a normal day.

“You’re her friend, right? She must have called you”

“If she did, I wouldn’t have been so surprised when you told me you chased her out of the house. She must’ve felt reluctant to call me because I am married. Cecelia might take it the wrong way”

“I’m an idiot!” Richard bangs his hand on the wall.

“You should go in search of her rather than staying here and blaming yourself for your actions. Ophelia and Lewis are out there to get you, what if they do something to Kristin! Even if it’s a contract marriage, she is still your wife for crying out loud, Richard!”

*Your precious wife saved you from your doom. Seeing how smart she is, makes me wanna fuck her*

Richard remembered Lewis’s words and he shook his head.

“I won’t allow that to happen!” He spats.

“Allow what to happen?” Luke asked.

Richard ignored Luke’s question and dashed out of the house, in search of Kristin.

Richard drove around the city looking for Kristin, the thought of Lewis going between Kristin’s legs, scared him more than dying.

He continued calling her nonstop until he saw her lying on the ground in the middle of the road, unconscious.

It has rained a lot, so vehicles hardly pass by.

“Firefly” He mumbled and quickly got down from the car.

He briskly rushed to her, placing her head on his arm.

“Firefly” He calls, trying to wake her up, but she stays unconscious in his arms.

Richard carried her, and took her home.
