“Justo is just joking”
“How sure are you?” Richard asked, his eyes on her.
“I consider Justo as a brother, so I know what goes on in his head. He takes everything for a joke, and he is not always serious” Kristin replied.
“What drama did you both do in school?”
“Are you that curious?” Kristin questioned with a smile.
“Are you going to tell me or not?” Richard hollowed.
“We attended the same high school alongside my best friend Romina. The school wanted to stage a drama, because it was celebrating its fifty year anniversary. Justo and I were picked as the parents to the lead characters in the drama. It’s not something serious, we were only present in just two scenes. Often, Justo jokes around and calls me his wife” Kristin asked.
“You’re happy he calls you his wife?” Richard asked, he was curious to know what her answer would be.
“Of course not”
Richard felt happy by Kristin’s answer, but he didn’t make it known to her.
Justo came out from the house, and Richard’s cold expression increased.
“Aren’t you both done yet?” He asked while Richard looked at him with so much hatred.
“Justo, you should stop your nonsense on challenging my boss into a hunting game with you? Do you even know how influential he is in Vegas?”
“I know. It’s so obvious he is one of the influential men in Las Vegas” Justo answered.
“And you want him to join you in your hunting game?” She asked.
“Yes,” Justo answered.
Kristin was about talking sense into Justo, but Richard beat her to it.
“I am going to the hunt game with you” Richard snorted.
“Mr. Grouchy, you can’t…”
“I’m going to do it, Firefly” Richard cut her short.
“Mr. Grouchy?” Justo chortled and continued; “That name suits your personality, Mr. Grouchy” Justo said, mockingly.
“Justo, you need to stop!” Kristin scolded, but Justo flashed a smile at Kristin.
Richard’s jealousy elevated because of how Justo flashed a smile at Kristin.
He has never smiled so broadly at Kristin, because smiling all the time was a difficult task for him.
It’s not like he doesn’t want to do it, but with everything he has gone through, the zeal to smile left him, and seeing how Justo was smiling at Kristin without stress, makes him want to punch him.
But for Kristin’s sake, he is trying to control his anger. He doesn’t want to put Kristin in a situation where she’d have to explain his rash actions to her mom.
Richard loses the tightness of his fist, and he glares at Justo.
“Let’s get this over and done with me” Richard’s baritone voice said, and Justo smirked at him.

The fall air was cool and refreshing, as Richard and Justo stood side by side, their hunting rifles in hand. The sun was rising over the forested hills, making the land warm and bright.
Kristin wasn’t with them, because Justo insisted he’d like to go hunting with Richard alone.
“Are you prepared for the hunt, Richard?” Justo said with a smirk, cocking his rifle with a confident motion.
Richard loomed at Justo and pumped his shotgun, his eyes gleaming with determination. “Yes I am,” he replied, his voice laced with confidence.
He has handled guns so using a rifle and aiming an animal won’t be difficult, but Richard furrowed his eyebrows when Justo dropped his rifle and began laughing, to the extent of falling to the ground.
“Have you gone mad?” Richard asked as he watched Justo laugh like an insane fool.
Justo stood up from the ground, and he strutted over to Richard with his boxy smile.
He was tall, but Richard had a taller body.
“Do you like Kristin?” Justo asked.
“Is that the game you challenged me on? Let’s get started” Richard said with determination, ready to put Justo in his place.
“I’d advise you to surrender Richard. You might be good at handling guns since you’re from a developed city, but you can’t win when it comes to hunting. Moreover, I didn’t drag you out here for a hunting game”
“Meaning?” Richard knitted his eyebrows.
