Kathryn nodded with a big smile. “What’s your name? You’re cute.”
Romina quickly stood at attention, eager to hear his name.
“Luke. What’s your name?”
“Kathryn. Only my Daddy Richard calls me Baby Kathy,” Kathryn said with a smile.
Luke smiled, wishing he already had a child of his own. Even if he and Cecelia had had a baby, they wouldn’t be Kathryn’s age yet.
“And I’m Romina,” she chimed in, smiling, unable to hide her attraction to Luke. But she quickly stopped when she saw the way Luke was looking at her.
He gave her a look that said, *Are you sure you didn’t escape from a psychiatric hospital?*
“Pinky promise you’ll help me find my daddy Richard when we meet again?” Kathryn asked.
“I promise,” Luke said with a smile, doing a pinky promise with her.
“I have to go now, Kathryn,” he said, standing up to leave.
“Bye, Luke,” Romina said with a smile.
Luke gave her a fake smile and walked away, no doubt thinking she was mentally unstable.
“He’s so cute,” Romina squealed.
“Are you in love with Uncle Luke?” Kathryn asked, surprising Romina with how much she had picked up. Kathryn had learned a lot, thanks to Romina’s tendency to show her romantic movies instead of cartoons.
Kathryn had been staying with Romina for almost a year now, so she knew her well.
“What do you think of him?” Romina asked. Luke had long gone, but she could still see his back, her eyes twinkling with affection.
“He looks nice, and you two would look good together,” Kathryn said.
“You think so?” Romina asked with a smile.
Kathryn nodded, and Romina grinned, falling even more in love with Luke.
Her phone rang, and she pulled it out of her back pocket. Seeing the caller, she smiled at Kathryn. “Your mommy wants to see you.”
“Yay!” Kathryn jumped in excitement. She loved Kristin so much.

Romina and Kathryn entered the hotel room, and Kathryn rushed to Kristin.
“Mommy!” she squealed.
Kristin caught her, lifting her into her arms, her heart full of joy. “I just came from Grandma and Grandpa’s room, and when they told me you were here, I came as quickly as I could.”
Kristin smiled. “I missed you so much, Kathryn.”
“From 1 to 100, how much did you miss me?” Kathryn asked with a mischievous smile.
Kristin chuckled. “Who taught you that?”
“My Singapore friends! So, Mommy, from 1 to 100, how much did you miss me?”
“200. I missed my baby so much,” Kristin said, kissing Kathryn’s cheeks repeatedly. Kathryn giggled in delight.
A few minutes later, they all settled down to eat together, though Kristin was feeding Kathryn.
“We’ll be going back to Glenwood soon,” Dante announced during the meal.
“No! I don’t want to go back to Glenwood! I want to see my daddy Richard again!” Kathryn said loudly in her tiny voice.
“I agree with Kat. We shouldn’t go back yet,” Romina added. She didn’t want to leave—not when her heart fluttered at the thought of Luke.
“Why are you suddenly supporting Kathryn?” Gladys asked.
“She wants to see Uncle Luke again,” Kathryn grinned.
“Uncle Luke?” Kristin asked, directing her gaze to Romina.
“It’s nobody, Kristy. Kat, your mommy can make it possible for you to see Daddy Richard again.”
“Really, Mommy? You can?” Kathryn’s face lit up with joy.
“Did you have to say that to Kathryn?” Gladys asked in Filipino, and Romina smiled. She had said it so they could stay longer in Vegas, which might give her a chance to see Luke again.
