He wanted some freedom, and that’s what I gave him. He’ll understand us soon,” I said. I hope he does before it’s too late.
“But Ahana… How could you do that?
I know you’re in an arranged marriage, but that doesn’t give him all these privileges.
He is still ignorant. I swear if Mir did anything like this, I would confront him.”
“I would never do that, love…” Mir said, embracing Piya. I smiled, witnessing their happiness.
“Of course you wouldn’t, Mir. You both deeply care for each other.
Now, stop wasting time and go enjoy yourselves. I’m fine. I’ll be back in a minute,” I said, urging them away.
“Are you sure, Ahana? If you need anything, let us know,” Mir said.
“Yeah, I’m sure. Thank you,” I replied.
They left hand in hand, wearing smiles. They were very affectionate. Ansh is truly fortunate to have them. However, I doubt he realizes it.
I despise myself for being so sentimental. My eyes have become accustomed to shedding tears, making it hard to control myself.
But I’ve resolved to overcome them and have a good time tonight.
I strode energetically toward the bar. I’ll show that fool that I am not alone anymore.
Even though I’m not a drinker, I decided to try it tonight. Something new to experience…
“What can I get you, madam?” the bartender asked.
I wasn’t sure what to order, but thanks to the movies I’ve watched, I knew what to ask for. Movies can be helpful in many ways at times.
“Tequila, please,” I said.
He served me, and with a gulp, I consumed it all.
Yuck! It tasted a bit bitter. I didn’t expect it to be so unpleasant.
I wonder how people drink it so effortlessly in movies. I observed some people drinking it as if it were water.
But after a while, it felt heavenly. As the bitter drink traveled down my throat, it created a burning sensation. Yet, it was more than just good. It was like paradise.
“I think… it’s your first time, madam… isn’t it?”
“Yeah… but it’s really good. What else do you serve?”
I hope I’m not sounding like an inexperienced person, though.
It didn’t matter, though…
The bartender provided me with various new types of drinks, and I had a great time. I was actually laughing by myself now.
The alcohol was doing its job well, and for the first time in two months, I felt good.
I had some shots with lemon and tried a Rare Rum (that’s what the bartender called it).
He also made me taste some peculiar combinations of carbonated drinks and much more.
No wonder people turn to drinking when they feel lonely. It numbs all the pain, and that’s exactly what’s happening to me.
I feel so at ease, as if a heavy burden has been lifted off my shoulders.
I’m content and relaxed internally. My heart feels light.
AHANA’S POV
I didn’t go back home that day. I didn’t want to face Ahana after all that I was doing with her.
I already had called Jia asking her to join me to the party.
I saw Ahana calling me multiple times but I ignored her. I didn’t know what to say when I pick up the call. What reason should I give for my behavior?
When I got down from the car the first thing saw I saw was Ahana, standing with elegance in her beautiful white gown. She looked breathtaking.
