OUR MARRIAGE IS JUST A PIECE OF PAPER : EPISODES 21 – 30
Episode 29
I was proud of my self-control. “You can’t do this to me again and again. Do you get it? Yeah…
It’s true I don’t remember anything. Let me go.” I cleaned the tears quickly.
Feeling vulnerable, I started to go towards the washroom. I didn’t want to face him. After all, what happened.
When I started taking small steps, he pulled me towards himself in a tight hug. My face was engulfed in his chest.
My tears still flowing no matter how hard I try to stop them.
I think I had wet his T-shirt too. I hate being like this. But they just refuse to stop in front of him.
My mind asked me to push him, but my heart just stayed. He wrapped me up in his arms.
“Ansh.. Leave me, please. I don’t want to speak or know more. I am done with you and me.” I said.
“Ahana… Please, I won’t let you go. Look at me…” He held my chin up and continued.
Our eyes meeting after a long time. And all I could see was sincerity in them.
In my eyes… Do you see any guilt?
“I apologize, but I was just teasing my wife for bothering me yesterday,” he said, bursting into laughter.
His laughter continued uncontrollably.
“Ansh… means…” I stammered, utterly shocked.
“I was only joking. I assisted you in finding your clothes, and you changed on your own.
Then you slept as if there was no tomorrow. But I must say, you sleep like a baby. And yes, my wife smells delightful in the morning,” he chuckled.
That man truly fooled me. I was angry, but I couldn’t resist playfully htting him in the stomach.
“You id!ot! I thought I was going to have a heart attack… Damn,” I exclaimed. He promptly placed his finger on my lips.
“Never say anything like that. I won’t harm you unless you provoke me. I won’t make a move until you do.
Okay, trust me,” he said, looking into my eyes. I knew he wasn’t lying.
I don’t know how long we stared at each other, searching for answers about where this peculiar relationship was heading. But then, why did he kss me?
“Guys, next time you want to exchange glances in an embrace, please have the decency to close the door,” a voice interrupted, and instantly, we both withdrew. It was my dad.
“DAD!” we exclaimed in unison.
“It’s fine. You two look adorable together. By the way, I came to remind you that we have an important meeting with the investors.
I hope you didn’t forget?” he asked, grinning.
“No,” we replied simultaneously. Nodding, he walked away with a smile.
Ignoring Ansh, I headed for a shower. My head was still spinning. I took a Crocin, but I still couldn’t shake it off.
We didn’t speak the entire day, and I was grateful for some peace of mind, although it wasn’t the kind of peace I longed for. Something was still missing.
The meeting went exceptionally well. Dad and Grandad had entrusted all the responsibilities to Ansh and me.
I was pleased because their hard work had paid off, and I knew Ansh never compromised when it came to his work. He was the best at it.
Now, both of them, along with my dad and grandpa, were going to retire and enjoy life.
They deserved some time for themselves after all the hard work they had done.
I was genuinely happy for all of them. When they are happy, I feel like the luckiest person alive, even though I’m not…
Because I have Ansh, who is truly giving me a hard time. Throughout the meeting, he had his eyes fixed on me, and undoubtedly, he noticed me stealing glances at him. He’s definitely a headache…
