RED AND THE ALPHA : CHAPTER 31 – THE END
Drakko who was out felt his wolf growl deeply. He was on his way to see hunt down some hunters that seemed to be giving so!e tough time again when his wolf started acting up and not liking the feeling, he changed his route but first, he had sent his beta who was close by in the area to go over to her place.
When he stepped out, the door was wide open and his beta mind linked him.
“Alpha hurry something is wrong?” he said and quickly he drove over there.
Pushing the door open he found Red lying on the ground with Cedric squatting next to her body.
Seeing the state she was in, his heart dropped skipping multiple beats.
“What’s wrong?” he asked feeling a sense of forebrooding in the air.
With Cedric hands to her neck, he uttered with a shake of his head.
“SHE’S DYING”
“She’s dying” said Cedric to drakko.
Just hearing him utter those words, a wave of an unknown emotion enveloped him, his heart felt heavy as he momentarily struggled to breath and quickly he rushed over to her side.
“How did this happened to her?” He said and touching the vein in her palm which see!ed to be weal, it confirmed derricks words.
“I don’t know. I just arrived to see her lying on the ground” Cedric said.
Quickly lifting her up the Ground, he carried Her in a bridal style towards the car where he took her to the pack house.
With the healers busy trying to do their best to ensure her survival.
Hours into the day, drakko began to pace round the room until the a Felix stepped towards him.
“What happened?” To this drakko and Cedric both stepped forward to the doctor but he only came shaking his head she’d bearing bad news.
“I don’t know what was injected into Jer system but it seemed to be destroying the living cells gradually.
Its like poison but it works different from poison”
“How do you mean?” He asked.
“The substance keeps the patient conscious placing her in a state of pain. Its like nothing I’ve seen before” he shook his head.
“Do you think we should take her to the hospital?” Asked Cedric for Felix to shake his head.
“”If we can’t find a solution to this problem, do you think a doctor will?
Besides, I’ve heard of this type of substance. It was used back in the day to immobilize the enemy and still keep them.conscious.
Its very rare for such substance to be found and I even if it were, it would be highly expensive and hard to get your hands on” said Felix.
“So there’s someone behind her condition. Who could it be?” Cedric said thinking aloud.
When he went over to her place, he didn’t find anyone there.
“Do whatever you must to ensure she comes out alive” ordered drakko
“We are trying”
“Well try harder” his words came out almost as a growl as he tried to keep his emotions in check.
Brain rattling on who was responsible until something clicked within him.
When he was there, he smelt a faint smell clearly not from a human.
Felix nodded before heading into the room where she was being kept.
Hours passed once more but there still wasn’t any signs of improvement from Red.
Healers, doctors and all sort of people were called to find AA solution but all to no avail.
With a sigh, drakko entered into the room she was being kept. There he saw her lying on the Ned with a tear drop rolling down her face.
He recalled what Felix had said, that the poison given to her would cause a !ot of pain perhaps that was the reason for her tears.
He couldn’t feel her pain but he felt the urge to take them away if he could.
As he held her hand, he felt her flinch at his touch making him graze his thumb over her palm.
“It’s okay” his words calm as he stretched his hand to wipe away her tears.
Anytime he saw her she seemed to always be SD and that was all because of him.
“I promise you’ll be fine” this was a promise he was willing to keep.
Just then, a gentle knock was heard bringing his attention to the door.
