REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 11 – 20

CHAPTER 19 & 20
A MISSION IN MOTION.

Big Cat leaned against the door to Tesiera’s bedroom, watching as she busied herself with preparations for her mission. The room was dimly lit, with only a small lamp on the nightstand casting a faint glow over the leather-clad figure in front of the mirror. Tesiera was strapping various weapons to her clothes, fastening daggers to her boots and waist, and concealing two more in her jacket. She checked her gun, loaded it with bullets, and placed it in her holster.

“Tesiera,” he called her name in a low tone, trying to reason with her once again.

She didn’t turn around, but she knew he was there. She had expected him to come and try to stop her once more. He had called her the day before, but she hadn’t answered. She wasn’t surprised he came himself tonight.

She knew he wouldn’t try to forcefully stop her from going to the mission like he would have if it were one of his men disobeying him like she was. What Big Cat wanted, Big Cat got. He was a powerful man, highly feared in the underworld, and she’ the only person who’d ever seen this pleading side of the fearless, authoritative Mafia Godfather.

“My instincts do not support your mission tonight,” Big Cat said, trying to persuade her to back down. “What if you walk into a trap?”

Tesiera paused and looked at him over her shoulder, considering his words. But then she shook her head. “Nothing is stopping this mission tonight,” she replied firmly. “I’ve made up my mind, Big Cat. I’m going to kill him.”

“Tesiera, please,” Big Cat pleaded. “Can’t you rethink this?”

She turned to face him, her face expressionless. “I have to do this,” she said. “For my father.”

Big Cat shook his head, a hint of sadness in his eyes. “Just two more months, and you can have the man’s head however you want it.”

Tesiera stepped towards Big Cat, her eyes gleaming with anger. “I’m not putting this mission off another day.”

Big Cat sighed, his shoulders slumping. He had raised this woman until she was eighteen years old, and he knew how stubborn and determined she could be.

“I appreciate your concern, Big Cat,” Tesiera said coldly. “But I have to do this. It’s something I should have done a long time ago.”

Big Cat looked at her, his eyes sad. He knew he had failed, that he couldn’t convince her otherwise. He stepped aside as Tesiera walked past him towards the door.

“Tesiera,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. “Be careful.”

Tesiera nodded, not looking back. She knew the risks, but she was willing to take them. She had waited too long for this moment, and she wasn’t going to let anyone stop her.

As she left the house, the moonlight casting shadows around her, she knew that this was it. This was the moment she had been waiting for. Tonight, she would make another attempt on Kracusian Kingston’s life.

And unlike the first time, she would succeed.

REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 11 – 20

Tesiera watched from a distance as the large, blue-themed luxury cruise ship came into view. She remained hidden and observed as workers and business officials boarded the boat. She noticed a security protocol being followed at the main entrance. The officials exposed their arms and placed them near a scanner before the door opened for them. Tesiera watched as the same process was repeated for every person who boarded the ship.

Suddenly, it dawned on her that Kracusian and his team had implemented this security measure to prevent any intruders from sneaking onto their boat. She had suspected that they might ramp up their security measures after her previous attempt on his life, and this proved her suspicions right.

But Tesiera knew that the security measures would not be enough to stop her. It would take more than that to keep her away from her target. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a crumpled piece of paper which contained a map of the luxurious cruise boat. She had obtained the map by knocking out one of the engineers and taking it from his pocket.

Well, you’ve never had a failed target before either. This guy has an inkling about your skills and technique, he might use that to his advantage in his means to keep himself alive. You might be walking into a trap.

Despite the tiny voice in her head warning her about the possibility of walking into a trap, Tesiera ignored it and studied the map carefully. She noted all the strategic entrances, exits, and windows. Her objective was to gain access through the window closest to Kracusian’s room, which was labeled ‘MASTER ROOM’ and located towards the far left end of the boat, close to the back exit. However, to access the corridor leading to the room, she had to use a neighboring room’s window.

Tesiera considered going through the digital security device, but she knew it was not a viable option. Thus, her only choice was to enter through the window, which was no easy feat. Her first step was to find a way to get closer to the window, which was on the left side. To reach it, she had to go around the boat to the other side, and the only way to do that was to use one of the boats or canoes on the deck.

Swimming was not an option in her present circumstance. Tesiera squeezed the map into her pocket and surveyed the area once again with her sharp eyes. There were boats and canoes on the deck that tourists used for sightseeing.

This was her ticket to get to the window. She made sure her beanie covered her red hair well enough to avoid detection, and she wore a long-sleeve sweater to cover her tattoos despite the hot weather. She approached the man in charge of issuing the boats.

The man looked away from his magazine and raised his eyebrows at the woman standing in front of him wearing a sweater. Tesiera presented her receipt to him to show that she had paid to enter the docks and was therefore entitled to a boat.

“I need a boat,” she said simply, and the man got up from his chair, muttering under his breath about not being able to enjoy a moment of relaxation without people interrupting him.

The man in charge of the boats walked over to the wooden boats and pulled one out onto the shore of the sea. Tesiera followed him as he slotted in the paddles and arranged everything else that needed to be in place for the ride.

“I’m finished. Do you need help rowing? Most women don’t know how to paddle a wooden boat,” he said before Tesiera interrupted him by getting into the boat and paddling out to sea.

The man was shocked, “Wait! Let me at least give you the basics if you don’t want me to row. Oh, forget it. I pray your stubborn self doesn’t get drowned.” He gave up and went back to his chair to continue reading his paper, secretly hoping that Tesiera would mess up and need his help.

However, the opposite happened, and she was effortlessly rowing the boat.

Tesiera steered the boat towards the left side of Kracusian’s luxurious cruise and parked it close to the large boat. She took out the map and examined it again, matching the description to the cruise boat in front of her and noting her target entry point—the nineteenth window.

She put the map back into her pocket and looked around the perimeter. Everyone in their boats was distracted by something or another. She took off her sweater, boots, and beanie to make herself as light as possible in case her attempted leap failed and she landed in the water. This way, she could swim back to the wooden boat without any hindrance.

With all the bothersome clothes out of the way, she took a deep breath and focused on the window she was about to latch onto. Then, she took the leap and jumped onto the boat.

She immediately grabbed onto a metal bar and hung onto it. Perfect, she had calculated her projection right and didn’t end up falling into the river. Tesiera began to climb her way up the boat, grabbing onto metal bars or anything she could hold onto. The window was far up, which meant she had a lot of climbing to do.

Finally, she reached the window, breathing heavily with aching hands. She tried to push the window open, but it wouldn’t budge, meaning it was locked from the inside.

“Fuck,” she muttered to herself.

That meant she had to pick the lock while using one hand to hang onto a metal bar. Tesiera looked down and saw how high above the ground she was. If she slipped and lost her balance, it was an immediate death.

She didn’t think much of it and returned her attention to the window. With her free hand, she carefully removed a pin that held her ponytail in place. It was a great and risky hassle doing that with one hand and being suspended ninety feet above the ground or above a large body of water, rather.

Tesiera successfully picked the lock and let go of the pin. She pushed open the window and entered the boat. She was glad she had found a way to get in despite being at a disadvantage, but what would make her happiest was finding the lifeless body of Kracusian.

She looked around to survey her environment. She was in the corridor that led to the Master Room somewhere down the hallway. She advanced slowly, not too worried about making a noise because she was barefooted. She took out the map and noted that the room was down the corridor and the third room on the left. Just as she was about to make the left turn, she heard footsteps and chattering heading towards her direction.

Tesiera had to think quickly, trying to figure out what to do since there was nowhere in sight to hide. Suddenly, she spotted a ladder leading up to the ceiling. It was her only option, so she quickly climbed up the ladder and into the ceiling.

The ceiling was made of glass, and Tesiera realized that she could see everything that was going on below her clearly. However, on the other side, the ceiling was opaque, meaning that those in the corridor couldn’t see her hiding in the ceiling. This was a great advantage.

As she watched, three men came into view, and Tesiera’s killer instincts heightened when she saw the man in the middle. It was Kracusian Kingston. He was talking with his two bodyguards, and from the looks of it, they were headed to the Master Room.

Tesiera followed them by crawling on the ceiling above them until they finally reached their destination, a large golden door with Kracusian’s name on it. Tesiera stayed as still as possible and observed. They spoke for a while, but she couldn’t hear a word. After their discussion, his two bodyguards left and took the elevator. Then the man opened his room door and entered it.

Bingo.

A smile hinted at the edge of Tesiera’s lips as she realized that her target was right where she wanted him. She continued to crawl on the ceiling until she was above his room and could see everything happening inside. He was taking off his clothes as he was about to have a shower.

Perfect. She would have a surprise waiting for him in the bathroom.

She began crawling towards the direction of the bathroom, but then her eyes caught another glimpse of the man, and she paused, watching him. Kracusian took off his shirt, but his phone started to ring just as he was about to take off his pants. He answered the call and began pacing around the room.

“Yes. That’s what I’m saying, I want everything to be in place by the time I arrive. And also by tomorrow, there’s going to be a meeting with all the executives. So make preparations for that,” Kracusian instructed over the phone.

Tesiera’s eyes momentarily raced through his impeccable features. Now shirtless, she could see how gracefully toned Kracusian was. His brawny frame was intriguing and spoke volumes about how much time he spent working out. His biceps and pectorals were ripped, and his immense masculine appeal couldn’t be overlooked. He was a work of art.

“Exactly! I trust your capability, Jones. And I know you would do a great job handling everything. Please ensure everything is ready.”

Tesiera didn’t feed her eyes for too long and continued crawling until she was right over his bathroom. Now, she had to find a way to drop down from the ceiling noiselessly into the bathroom. Her eyes scanned the glass and noticed that they were stationed in boards and clipped down with a bolt. Meaning they could be moved aside if she could loosen the bolt.

Tesiera had a spanner with her; she took it from the engineer she knocked unconscious as she had a strong feeling she might need it later. She used the spanner to loosen the bolts on both sides of the glass board, and when she was done, she carefully pushed the board aside, and voila, she could now jump in!

She tried to leap in carefully, but there was no way she could do that without making noise. It didn’t matter at this point. By the time Kracusian would be coming in to check what caused the noise, she would have a gun aimed at his head.

However, something unexpected happened.

As Tesiera leaped into the bathroom, a sudden and loud alarm went off, and the room was flooded with buzzing electrocuting lasers. Before she could react, the lasers struck her with an intense shock, causing her to collapse to the ground, unable to make a sound. She had been electrocuted.

As consciousness began to slip away from her, she heard footsteps in the distance. “We got her! We got her!” It was an unfamiliar male voice.

“Yes, it’s definitely her! Our trap worked! We caught her,” said another voice.

She tried to focus, but her mind was slipping away from her grasp, like sand slipping through her fingers. The sounds of the world became muffled and distorted, as if she was listening to them from far away. Her thoughts, once sharp and focused, now felt like a jumbled mess.

She fought it immensely.

But then, she heard footsteps advancing towards where she laid and she slowly raised up her head so she could see who it was. A tall shadowy figure was before her and although she couldn’t clearly see the face, she recognized that peculiar masculine build immediately.

Kracusian Kingston.

“It took a while, but it was inevitable. Finally, you walked into my trap, Tesiera the Torturer,” he said, pausing before her.

Finally, she succumbed to the irresistible force pulling her under. Her eyes fluttered closed, and her body went limp. She was suspended in a state between consciousness and unconsciousness, as if hanging by a thread. A thought crossed her mind in that moment;

I should have known. The first day I ignored my survival instincts—which was never wrong—was the day I’d be caught in the trap of an enemy.

The world fades to black, and she slipped into the deep, dreamless sleep of someone who had lost consciousness.
