REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 31 – 40

CHAPTER 37 & 38.

CHANGE OF PLANS A

Kracus quickly sprang into action as soon as he saw the five men on motorbikes approaching their bulletproof vehicle. His heart pounding in his chest, he rushed to the passenger seat where Hazel was crying, strapped her in, and locked the door. He had to protect her at all costs.

He turned to face the group of men who had surrounded them. They were all dressed in black with ski-masks and helmets covering their faces, making it impossible to identify them. Only two of them had guns, but the others held spiked clubs, ready to engage in a fight. Kracus knew they were in for a rough ride.

Tesiera was quick to respond, withdrawing two pistols from her belt and tossing one to Kracus. He caught it with ease, and the two of them stood back to back, ready to face their attackers. Kracus gestured with a tilt of his head that they should split up and take on the attackers separately, and Tesiera knew exactly what he meant.

Without hesitation, Tesiera fired a shot at one of the men, but he was quick to dodge. Three of them went after Kracus, while the remaining two approached Tesiera. The man with the spiked club swung it with deadly precision, but Tesiera was too quick for him, ducking and dodging his attacks with ease. She was agile and nimble, moving with grace and precision.

All of a sudden, she felt something hit her shoulder blade that caused a jolt down her body. Hell, she’d caught a bullet.

She whirled around to the direction the bullet came from, and there the attacker stood with a machine gun, about to fire another round. Tesiera dodged behind an abandoned car, but the man was quick to follow her, firing multiple bullets at her in quick succession. The car was quickly getting littered with bullet holes, and Tesiera was panting heavily, almost out of breath.

She scooted to the end of the car and took a small peep to see what was happening. The man with the club was nowhere in sight, but the machine gun guy was still after her. He was hiding behind a board, with only his head and hands exposed. Tesiera aimed carefully, and fired a shot at him. The bullet hit him in the shoulder, and he cried out in pain, dropping his weapon.

Afterward, she got out, reached behind her back to her left shoulder blade and dug out the bullet—fortunately, it didn’t travel deeper—but it came out shattered. Her leather attire was useless here, so she hurried over to one of the attackers she’d taken down, ripped out some pieces of his shirt and wrapped it around her arm and shoulder, to stop the bleeding.

Meanwhile, Kracus had his own fight to deal with. He had knocked out the pistol gun from one of the men’s hands with a single kick and grabbed it as it dropped to the ground. Now he had two guns, and the guy was defenseless. He wasted no time in firing a shot at the man, taking him down.

The other two men were armed with clubs and bulletproof clothing, so Kracus relied more on physical combat than utilizing the guns. He slotted the guns into his back pocket and grabbed a long piece of wood that was lying around to engage them. He swung the piece of wood with deadly force, hitting one of the attackers on the shoulder, causing him to stumble.

However, the other attacker was quick to retaliate, aiming his spiked club at Kracus’s face. Kracus dodged it as quickly as he could, but the attack was made too close to him, and he couldn’t properly evade it. He sustained scratches on his cheek from the spikes, but he didn’t let that stop him.

“Fück,” he grunted in pain and focused on the fight.

The two attackers were side by side with him, and attacks were coming from both angles. Kracus had been on the defensive all the while but deemed it fit to land an attack. The attacker on the left aimed the club at him for another hit, but Kracus swung around quickly, grabbing the end of the club before it hit him.

The spikes pierced his palm, but he didn’t mind. While facing the man and preventing his attack, he used his piece of wood to whack his head with all his might and simultaneously hit the other in the groin with a backward kick of his leg.

Kracus kicked one of his attackers in the crotch, and the man doubled over in excruciating pain, dropping his club. Meanwhile, the other assailant lay on the ground with a cracked skull, blood trickling out of his nose and mouth. Kracus picked up the wooden club again and slammed it against the man’s head with all his might, delivering a fatal blow.

The first attacker, who had been writhing on the ground in agony, managed to get back up and was about to launch another attack on Kracus. But Kracus wasn’t one to let his guard down. He used the club to strategically hit both of the man’s shoulder joints, breaking them with a loud crack. The attacker let out a piercing cry of pain that echoed in the alleyway. Kracus then quickly removed his helmet and ski mask and pulled out a gun from his pocket. He aimed at the man and fired a shot that silenced his cries.

With the two attackers down, Kracus put his gun back in his pocket and headed towards Tesiera, who was in the midst of a gunfight with the third assailant. But as he approached her, a fourth man appeared out of nowhere, brandishing a gun. Kracus was taken aback. He had only seen two men with guns earlier, so where did this third man come from?

Kracus turned his head towards Tesiera and saw that she was locked in a fierce shootout with the man wielding the machine gun. The third attacker, who had attacked Tesiera with a club earlier, was nowhere to be seen. Kracus immediately realized that the third attacker must have swapped weapons with the fourth attacker and was now pointing his gun at Kracus.

“Drop your weapon,” the fourth attacker ordered Kracus, who complied by letting go of the wooden club he was holding. “Put your hands up in the air. Right now.”

Kracus eyed the man warily before slowly raising his arms above his head in surrender. The attacker approached him, his gun still pointed at Kracus, inching closer and closer.

Meanwhile, Tesiera was struggling to take down the machine gun-wielding attacker. She had reloaded her gun for the second time, but her hands were shaking from the adrenaline coursing through her veins. Her heart was pounding, and her breaths came in ragged gasps as she tried to steady herself.

Suddenly, she caught sight of Kracus with his hands up in the air and a gun pointed at him. She felt a surge of anger and without a second thought, she was about to run to his aid despite the risk.

But then she saw Kracus take action. In a swift motion, he grabbed the gun pointed at him, spun it away, twisted the attacker’s arm, flipped him over, and wrenched the gun away. He stomped hard on the man’s chest, causing him to cough up blood.

Tesiera watched in awe as Kracus executed these moves with precision and ease. Her gaze then shifted to the three dead attackers on the ground, their blood pooling around them. Kracus had taken them all down by himself. she felt a mixture of admiration and respect for him.

Kracus had told her he could take care of himself, and he had proven it beyond any doubt. He definitely can, she believed him. Hell, no wonder the man escaped her at her first attempt on his life that night. She’d always thought that he wasn’t an average fighter, and this confirmed her right. Not everyone can cleanly execute that tricky move in seconds like he just did.

Tesiera stepped out from behind the car and walked towards a gunman, who was out of ammo. Her lips curled up into a complacent smirk, and her eyes glinted with a menacing and sinister look as she got closer. She was about to blow his brains out, but the man was already running for his life, leaving his guns behind.

“Lucky bastard,” Tesiera muttered under her breath, unimpressed by the gunman’s cowardice.

Meanwhile, Kracus was still standing over the last man, but before he could shoot him, the man grabbed Kracus’ feet and pressed on the pressure point on his ankle, causing the muscle to spasm. Kracus cried out in pain as his legs lifted from the man’s body reflexively.

“What the fuck?” Kracus muttered through gritted teeth, trying to contain the pain. He couldn’t shoot the running man, who took advantage of the distraction and fled into the night on his motorbike.

“They got away.” Tesiera walked up to Kracus to help him up from the ground, but he was already on his feet. “Should I go after them?”

“Nah, let them go. I can hear Hazel’s cries, let’s get out of here.” Kracus said, hiding the pain from his voice. He was already moving toward the car, and Tesiera fell into steps with him. They got into the car, and Kracus lifted Hazel into his arms, soothing her.

“Where are we headed to, sir?” The driver asked as he immediately kicked the car into gear and began driving out of the hospital.

“Just keep driving,” he ordered.

Tesiera let out a deep sigh. This was her first day at work, and she was already face-to-face with death. The sting on her shoulder was persistent, she wondered if there were still bullet fragments left in the wound.

But what the hell was that attack? Who were they, and who sent them to attack at a hospital?
