REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 41 – 50
CHAPTER 49 & 50
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
Tesiera stood in front of the bathroom mirror, her gaze fixed on the bullet wound on her shoulder. She had just come out of the shower, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. As she removed the old bandages, she winced at the sharp pain that shot through her. Despite the discomfort, she remained stoic and focused on the task. With a steady hand, she cleaned the wound and wrapped it with fresh bandages.
Today, they were leaving the beach house and going back to Kracus’s mansion. Kracus was in his room freshening up while Mary prepped Hazel. Just as Tesiera was finishing up, her phone rang, and she saw that it was Big Cat calling.
She answered the call and pressed it against her ear with her shoulder, as she began putting away the remainder of the items she had used back into the first aid kit. “Sierra dear, how are you doing?” Big Cat asked.
“I’m fine, sir,” she responded, fastening the lock on the first aid kit.
“Well, I heard from your handler that you’re taking a break. He said something about a month or two hiatus, and you won’t be taking any new missions. Is that so?” He inquired, his tone held his surprise. Big Cat knew she never took breaks.
“Yes. Just some time away to recuperate. I’ll be back afterwards,” she said, taking the first aid kit in her hands and walking out of the bathroom. She made a mental note to remind Kracus to replace the spirits.
“Recuperate huh?” Big Cat chuckled, “Or is it because you’re Kracusian’s new bodyguard?”
Tesiera remained silent, not affirming or debunking Big Cat’s statement. There was no need for it when he already knew the truth.
“However, I’m very happy about the decision you took. Now I can proceed to finalize the deal with his company.” Big Cat expressed.
She had forgotten about his plans to invest with Kracus’s company. Even after two years, it still surprised her that he was going legal. She wondered if he knew the real reason she decided to work with Kracus, or he just deemed it that she was supportive of his decision to become an investor in Kracus’s company. Whichever it was, Tesiera doesn’t care.
“Has the deal been signed yet?” she inquired, now sitting at the edge of her bed.
“Well, not yet. But everything has been facilitated and the process is in motion, we’re proceeding with the investment. And hopefully, the deal will take place soon,” Big Cat stated.
She hummed, staring blankly at her lotion on the table.
“I heard there was another attack aimed at Kracus’s life and you got caught up in it. I hope you’re doing fine and didn’t sustain any serious injury?” Big Cat inquired.
Tesiera’s gaze shifted to the bandaged wound on her arm, “No injuries, I’m fine.”
“That’s good to hear. Try and find out why he keeps getting attempts on his life, it’s not advisable to keep flying blind. I know you can take care of yourself, but I don’t want you in any danger. Just be careful.” He was speaking to her in that rare, soft tone, Tesiera was only one that ever hears.
“I’m always careful.” She replied, ignoring the little voice at the back of her mind that called her a liar.
The truth was; she took risks. She doesn’t care much about being careful, more than she cared about getting the job done. Guess the latter fuels the before, because she has never really cared much about her life.
It’s all about taking risks, reckless risks; for instance, climbing up a luxury boat as high as forty feet with bare hands above a deep body of water that guaranteed a chilling death if anyone were to fall into it from such a height. A person who was being careful wouldn’t attempt to take out a bullet themselves.
She was never careful, maybe it’s because she never saw much in life. To her, she lived for revenge, to avenge her father’s death. Which leads her to self–questioning herself sometimes what her purpose on earth would be when her father’s murderers are found and she kills them. What else would she do with her life? Would there be anything else worth living for?
“Siera? Are you still there?” Big Cat’s voice pulled her out of her thought.
“I’m here. What were you saying?”
“I’m saying that now that the thing with Kracussian Kingston has been settled, there was actually a reason why I called you today,” he announced, “It’s about your father’s killers.”
Her hand which was rubbing her leg stilled. Fierce anger filled her. The rage which built in her heart made her chest burn. “What do you have for me?”
“My men got some intel. We got the possible location of one of the killers and tracked him down. I’ll send everything we have on him to you.”
Tesiera couldn’t describe the feeling Big Cat’s announcement gave her as it was a combination of various vehement emotions. Her fists clenched in fury as her prominent anger was in the mixture of strong emotions.
Somewhere along that line, there was a sense of impending victory as this news meant she was a step closer to accomplishing her revenge. And then there was a high volume of anxiousness, an inpatient urge to finally grab her knife and devour whoever that bastard was.
“Thank you, Big Cat. I’ll go through his information.” She was a mess of raging emotions and that’s all she could manage to construct in a fit of her anger.
“Good. This time around, don’t let your emotions make decisions for you, and for chrissake, don’t ignore your instincts just because you wanna get the killer. Make your own investigations before you take actions, so what happened with Kraccussian wouldn’t repeat itself.” He instructed.
“I’ll do that,” Tesiera stated with conviction. She doesn’t make a mistake twice.
“Good. See you later,” Big Cat hung up.
Tesiera’s mood ran sour. She’d gotten almost carried away with Kracus and being his lifeguard that she had somewhat forgotten the rage that stemmed from unjust death of her father. But now it’s revolting taste was back and it settled unpalatable in place.
Her emotions came to an overwhelmed climax and Tesiera got up from her bed, her chest heaving with angry breaths and she immediately went on to hurl her first at a wall, punching it with a frustrated grunt. Her knuckles cracked and got busted, traces of blood lacing the new bruise.
Revenge is nigh. Once she confirms the identity of this man as one of the murderers that killed her father, she will gut him like a pig, Tesiera vowed.

Kracus came out of his room dressed casually—a black T–shirt, a pair of jeans and white laced sneakers. At that same time, Tesiera had also stepped out of her room and was coming towards his direction.
His smile instantly collapsed as she brushed past him without giving a second glance, her presence leaving a chilling air. His brows narrowed in puzzlement, wondering what must’ve upset her so early this morning. Tesiera was never sunshine and roses, but something was really different today.
Is this about last night?
Just the thought of the night before made him angry. Angry and sad. He barely slept last night, as the occurrence replayed itself over and over in his mind. He’d seen her in a different life, one he’d never thought he’d ever see her in. This woman who was all iron and steel has a vulnerable side deeply hidden beneath layers of impenetrable ice.
The thought that she results to self-harm every time as a coping mechanism filled his throat with bile. His mother had done that in the past, and it had almost killed him.
Fortunately, his mother got better after counseling. She has made a lot of improvement because she was able to face and overcome what Cullian did to her.
Would Tesiera ever face her past? He had a feeling she’ll never do that. The worst patients are those ones that don’t want to be helped. He wanted to help her, but he knew the stubborn woman would tell him to go to hell.
But one thing is for sure; he’s not gonna sit back and watch her cut herself next time.
REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 41 – 50
An hour later, they were ready to go. Mary and Hazel came out of the beach house as well and immediately Hazel saw him, her face lit up with a smile and she ran towards him. Kracus reciprocated, grinning at his niece as he bent to her height, opening his arms wide to welcome her.
“Good morning Uncle Kay.” She quickly greeted as she raced past him and went to who was at the back of him, Tesiera.
Turns out she was the one Hazel was smiling at and excited to meet this morning for reasons Kracus couldn’t quite understand.
He watched as Hazel came over to Tesiera, whose face was contorted into the most unfeeling scowl he had ever seen her manifest.
“Aunt Tetiena.” Hazel tugged on the hem of Tesiera’s leather jacket and Kracus chuckled, how the little girl always messed up her name would forever be funny to him.
Hazel got Tesiera’s attention, the red–haired woman gave the child a glance from those unusually cold eyes of hers. But even that didn’t waver her enthusiasm, and she spread out her arms, beckoning on Tesiera to lift her up.
She looked down at Hazel and blinked in confusion.
“Up, up,” Hazel bounced repeatedly, “Please,” She gave her doe–eyed, pleading face.
Kracus snickered, unable to help himself. Hazel seems ready to get Tesiera a hard time this morning. He was a little worried that the woman might hurt Hazel’s feelings.
“Please, huh? Aunt Tetiana.” The child insisted, pouting her lips.
He knew there was no way in hell Tesiera would accept to carry Hazel, and he didn’t want the little girl to start crying, so he moved to their midst to intervene.
Only for him to come to a Stop halfway toward the duo, because Tesiera leaned forward and lifted the child into her arms. Kracus gawked at them, unable to believe it. Seconds later, he composed himself and continue toward them.
She inclined her head in a gesture of greeting when he got closer, her face blank. Together, they all walked toward the car. Kracus noticed the way she held Hazel. Gently, softly.
Does she hold her lovers this way too? What would if feel like to be in this woman’s arms as a lover?
Woah, hold the breaks there, lover-boy. He cautioned himself.
You’re threading dangerous grounds that might get you a kick—or seven—at the balls.
He cleared his throat, “Let’s go,” he ordered the driver. “Here, let me take her,” he directed to Tesiera with his arms reaching for Hazel to put her in her seat.
“Nuh–uh.” Hazel shook her head firmly, shifted away from Kracus and leaned into Tesiera, “I want to stay with Aunt Tetiana.”
For a split second, Kracus thought he saw a look for pure terror crossed Tesiera’s features, but when he blinked it was gone, her face blank again. Was that look really there or had he imagined it?
Kracus pitied her. So, he went ahead to persuade Hazel, “I bought this seat specifically for you, Angel. It was designed with pink unicorns, don’t you want to sit on it?”
The little girl shook her head, and her arms tightened around Tesiera’s neck. “No, I like it here. I can stay here right, Aunt Tetiena?”
Tesiera swallowed hard, but said nothing.
Kracus doubted if ‘Aunt Tetiana’ was in the mood for bonding with little children. He wasn’t comfortable with it because he doesn’t want Hazel’s feelings to get hurt. Knowing Tesiera, holding Hazel in her arms was already bothersome for her. The thought of having to carry the child in her arms all the way to Manhattan may just be her limit, and she might lash out.
“What if I hold you?” He offered the girl with a warm smile, “I’ll hold you all through the ride,” Kracus made another attempt to lift the child.
“She feels like mummy, I miss my mummy.” Hazel’s lips wobbled and he saw that the child was on the verge of tears, “I want Aunt Tetiena to hold me.”
