CHAPTER 147

“A contract?” Jayson’s voice comes out unsure, he walked towards me and grabbed my shoulders again…. this time around I can feel the tighteness of his grip

“Yes, our marriage is a contract Jayson, it’s not real, none of it is real, our wedding vows, rings and everything is fake……I am fake” I’m surprised that came out straight judging from the fact that my heart is racing like a marathon

“You are lying, did Mandy threaten you to do this?, What are you talking about?, You are not fake, you are my wife!” Jayson’s voice broke at the edge and so does my heart

“You really think I have the luxury to threaten someone?, Bîtch phulzeeee, you heard her and your Mom hired her to play pretend wife, she’s so good at acting” Mandy added salt to the already bleeding wound as Jayson freed me and faced his Mother who is now standing in front of us

“Tell me it’s all a lie, please…. Mom” Jayson said in a broken voice and I bowed my head….. allowing the tears flow as Jayson steps away from to

“Son, you have to understand that it’s not what it seems like” Mrs Mantinda voice is shaky as well

“Then what does it seem like?, You both even had the goddamn contact signed!!!” Gina yelled out of nowhere as she shoved the contract in Jayson’s face, Jayson jolted backwards and I covered my face, I don’t want to see the hurt in his eyes as he goes through the contract

“You snooped my room!?, How dare you!?” Mrs Mantinda yelled at Gina who’s smriking as Jayson reads through the whole damn thing….

“Mother?……. you hired her to come fool me?” Jayson asked and Mrs Mantinda shook her head virgoursly as she tried holding Jayson but he stepped back

“Jasmine, I’m giving you one more time to deny this, tell me it isn’t true and I tear the paper into shreds” Jayson mumbles as he eloped my space, I looked up at him and I don’t see those cheerful sparks that brings life to his beautiful face, I don’t see that glint that brings out the human in him but rather all I see is pain…… cold fùcking pain

“It’s true” I said unable to defend myself, not like I could anyway because basically my whole reason in being with his family is to use them to venge mine, I only took the contract to get closer to Jayson and hurt him, and to use his mother’s connection to fight my uncle who is now dead so what’s the use of defending myself if I’m just only going to get implicated

“I can’t believe this, I trusted you” Jayson voice came out sore

“Jayson please……” I stuttered

“I fùcking trusted you.” He repeated and that hit home hard

“Jayson listen to me…..” I tried but he countered my attempts

“What the fúck do you have to say?……that you married me because of money?” Jayson pointed out and my mouth hang open

“I didn’t marry you for your stupid money!” I snapped

“Then what did you marry me for!?, If not money then what!?, Why I’m I even bothering myself when the first time I met you was all revolving around money!, I should have known you to be a gold digging type” He said and I didn’t know how or why but I slapped him, it echoed through the space as everyone gasped

“Don’t you dare talk to me like that!, I know I messed up but don’t you dare call me a gold digger!” I vibrated and Jayson stared down at me, I can see the disregard in his eyes as he shoved me away and stormed out of the space……… lights flashing and capturing everything that just took place

“I knew something was up with you, but I never thought you’d stup so low” Noah said as he also left and I felt my whole world crumbling before my very eyes

“I thought we were friends” Roland said as he stared at me with disbelief

“Roland please you have to understand that….”

“That we shouldn’t be friends in first place, I’m disappointed in you, Jasmine” and with that, Roland was out the door.
