CHAPTER 71

Jasmine’s Pov

“Where are you going?” I asked immediately Jayson jugged down the stairs, he paused to look at me, he was smiling, something I can never get used to even though I try, honestly I don’t know why but I feel like there’s more to our relationship that it seems, I feel like I’ve known him for years, but each time I try to remember?, Everything just go blank

“It’s Monday, Star, I’ve got work” he said and I mouthed an “Oh” as a frown formed on my face, he rubs his forehead as he walked towards me

“What’s the problem?, Why are you frowning?” He asked and I looked up at him

“I’m bored staying here all by myself, can I at least go out with my friend sometime?” I asked and he shook his head

“Jasmine, you don’t understand why I’m asking to stay put, I can’t risk anything happening to you, you have to be here, where there’s maximum security and I will assured that you are safe” he said and I furrowed my eyebrows, he saw the confusion in my eyes and pulled me closer into a warm hug but I wasn’t willing to reciprocate, am I in some sort of danger or what?

“What do you mean by that?, why will I be hiding?, who wants to hurt me?” I asked and he sighed as he pressed me tightly into the hug but I pulled away…. looking at him directly

“Listen, someone I know threatened to hurt you because we are married, I know her very well, she can be a demon sometimes that’s why I always want you besides me, to be safe” he said and I couldn’t make sense of what he’s saying

“Jay, nobody wants to hurt me, you are just making excuses and ashamed of people knowing that I’m your wife” I suddenly snapped and his eyes portrayed shock as I felt his grip slowly lossen

“What are you talking about?, I’m worried about your safety and you are busy yabbing nonsense!” He snapped back and I chuckled, stepping away from him

“Then who’s this mysterious person that wants me dead?, Tell me!” I barked folding my hands across my chest

He sighs as he rubs his temples, I could see he’s struggling to control his anger as his face softens

“You know what?, you can out but you aren’t going without security” he said and I shook my head negatively

“I’m not some president’s daughter that needs protection, I used to walk freely before I met you and it’s going to stay that way” I said with a wave of my hand, I’m being stubborn, I know it but there’s no reason to cage me, he’s becoming overprotective and I don’t really like it

“Star, why are you making things difficult?, Who are you going out with?” He asked and I threw him a side eye

“Mika, of course” I answered and immediately I remembered I haven’t heard from her since two days ago and she hasn’t called either

Fùck!, Did something happen to her?

“Fine, but make sure you are careful, I don’t want anything bad to happen to you…. again” he said and I hugged him tightly, but then my mind registered the last part of his sentence

“Again?”

“Ummm Jayson, I would love to tell you something important, you know I wanted to tell you before but I couldn’t because someone interupted us, I’m going to make it quick” I said in a rush as that cold feeling siped it

“Can it wait till later?, your stubbornness made me stay till now” he said as he wriggles out of my hold and started walking towards the door.
