CHAPTER 101

LOVE AT LAST

Esmeralda was being sent out of the palace back to her father’s kingdom. She was led outside by the guards as she scratched her neck.

Her while body was filled with rashes and scars that will take long to heal.

She look back at the palace and bit her lips.

She has been in the palace for good five years to catch the eye of the emperor. Just as she thought he was beginning to notice her, Aurora came into the picture and took him away.

Aurora was the chosen one but she is too greedy and obsessed for the status of the empress. She couldn’t let all what she laboured go in vain.

But it seems like that right now, she let her obsession take control of her. she made the wrong step?

She took in her lips as she entered the palaquin set for her and soon, it rode out of the palace.

PALACE KITCHEN

The kitchen was full of activities as they prepared for the upcoming coronation holding the next day.

Madam Eloise was busy supervising them to make it perfect.

Jade was alone in a corner as she prepared a tea she was asked to do by Sapphire. She filled the cup with the tea as she went out of the kitchen to see Louis like he has been waiting for her.

Her face went red on seeing as she faced somewhere else to hide her blush.

“Hey” he called.

She composed herself and turned to him. “Louis” she smiled.

“Are you busy” he asked flashing her a smile.

“Not really, I just want to give this to princess Sapphire” She replied. Unknowingly, she bent her hand she was using to hold the small tray and a little content of the tea burnt her hand immediately.

“Ouch” she screamed as her hand turned red. Louis moved closer to her and collecting the tray from her checking her burnt hand.

“Is it painful” he asked and she shook her head smiling seeing him care.

“Let me help” he muttered.

“Don’t worry, I’ll just add some balms on it, it’ll clear after” She said and he dropped her hand. “Okay”

She took the tray carefully with her other hand as she turned to go.

“Let me escort you” he followed her and she nodded in affirmation.

“Jade!” He called.

“Yes”

“I have something to tell you” He muttered and she stopped.

“What is it about..” She asked, curiosity in her voice.

“First, take the tea to the princess and meet me in the garden” He patted her hair and she slowly nodded.

“Sure” she said as she approached Sapphire’s chamber.
