CHAPTER 12

NEXT MORNING~MAIDS QUARTERS

Aurora had nothing to do as her legs still hurt like fire. Her stomach were grumbling as she is hungry. Jade and Sage are not in the room but in their Lady’s service.

She stood and managed to go out of the quarters when someone came to her grumpily.

“Hey slave, take this” A maid handed her a broom.

“For what” Aurora asked.

“Are you asking me, sweep the field….you have been idle ever since you came here” the maid glared at her and left.

Aurora turned to look at the field, it was huge and big. She haven’t even started when another maid came to her.

“Hey witch, the dishes in the kitchen are dirty…..go wash them” she barked at her.

“Go fetch some water inside the bathroom”

“There are dresses in the washing room, go wash them” another growled.

More came to her handling her different jobs to do, that when she knew that everyone here doesn’t like her even the maids.

She bit her lips gently fighting back the tears that is threatening to fall.

“Start now, we have no time to waste” A maid yelled at her and she started with the sweeping.

She hasn’t done any chores in her entire life ever since she was a kids, but now she’ll be doing it.

Esmeralda smirked in said in satisfaction from where she is watching. “This is just the tip”

HOURS LATER

Aurora was extremely tired from all the jobs that she was given, her stomach has been grumbling signifying hunger but she dare not leave the work she was doing since she isn’t through.

She rounded it up by washing the dress last and she groaned. Her whole body was weak and filled with reddish scars. Esmeralda approached her and she quickly bowed her head.

“Your highness”

“I just want you to do me a favour” she said and Aurora furrowed her brows shortly.

“Anything your highness”

“Okay…….. If the emperor calls you to his chamber tonight, don’t go, ignore……I want to be with him today!!!” she blurted and Aurora looked at her shocked.

“No, your highness…..I can’t ignore his order” she muttered.

“Why won’t you, you wretched thing” Esmeralda slapped her soundly and she touched her stinging cheek.

“He is the one that……”

“That what…., If I see you in his chamber tonight…. your life will be a living hell in this palace” Esmeralda growled and Left with her maids coupled with sage who was smirking throughout.

Aurora sighs and bent her head. She was totally exhausted and tired as she walked down to the kitchen maybe Madam Eloise would be there.

Without knowing, she bumped into a hard chest and gasped when she saw the emperor angry face.

“My lord…”

“Apologize…” Astrid said and she bent her head.

“Forgive me, my lord……I didn’t mean to” she said weakly.

Emperor Augustus wasn’t putting on any expression as he stared at Aurora. She felt her eyes becoming blurry and she almost fell on the emperor.

Astrid quickly caught her before she could touch the emperor.

“Get her out of my sight” he growled and walked away from them while Astrid took her away unconsciously.
