CHAPTER 62

EMPTY LOUNGE

Astrid’s eyes locked onto Sapphire’s, his gaze burning with intensity. “Can I borrow your lips for a moment?” he asked, his voice low and husky.

Sapphire’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets. “Why…do…” she stuttered, her voice barely audible.

But Astrid didn’t wait for her response. He leaned in, his lips crashing onto hers in a deep, passionate kiss. Sapphire’s eyes widened in shock, her mind racing with confusion. She didn’t know what she was doing, or why she was letting him kiss her like this.

She responded as the kiss deepened, something inside her stirred. She felt a flutter in her chest, a spark of electricity that ran through her entire body. It was like nothing she had ever experienced before.

Suddenly, reality hit her like a ton of bricks. What was she doing?! She broke the kiss, pushing Astrid away from her with a force that surprised even herself.

Astrid’s eyes gleamed with amusement as he watched her stumble backward, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to”

She bit her lips slowly and ran out of the room in a blink.

He chuckled as she ran out and he couldn’t believe what had just happened. He had kissed her, and she had kissed him back!. The thought sent a spark through his veins.

He smiled leaving the room as the scene of the kiss lingered in his mind.

ESMERALDA’S CHAMBER

“Esmeralda’s scream echoed through the chamber, a raw and anguished sound that can sent shivers down anyone spine. “Arghhhhh!” she screamed, her eyes blazing with fury as she swept her arm across the dressing table, pushing cosmetics and deodorants away as it crashed on the floor.

She stared at her reflection in the mirror. Her eyes were filled with red rage.

She couldn’t believe the Emperor announced Aurora as his bride in front of everyone.

“Why did he do this to me!!!!! How could he” she thundered.

She snatched up the mirror and threw it across the wall, shattering it into a thousand pieces. She didn’t care as she continues throwing things all over her lounge.

“My lady that enough, you are hurting yourself” Sage came in worriedly and Esmeralda faced her.

“Enough!!!!! My life is Fucking ruined because of that slave” she spat.

“She dared take the king away from me! She dared get pregnant!!!!” She yelled.

Sage sighed sadly.

“Seriously” she gritted. “You think you can have a child in this palace after killing mine?? You just made a grave mistake Aurora. A silly mistake” She shrieked.

“I’ll make sure you also loose this pregnancy and feel the same pains I passed through……… I swear I won’t give up until I end her stay here, I won’t” she yelled.

“My lady, pull yourself together…you can do that if you are like this” sage said trying to calm her down but Esmeralda broke down in tears.

“If only she isn’t here, I would have be the Empress by now” she wept.

“The stylist is here” Sage informed on hearing voices at the door.

“What the use, he doesn’t want me anymore” she wailed, her body shaking with grief.

Sage told the stylist to go back and faced Esmeralda back.

“My lady, put yourself together” She urged but Esmeralda keeps crying.
