CHAPTER 65

YONGJING KINGDOM

THRONE ROOM

Emperor Augustus was seen sitting on his throne, the Ministers present also on their seat as they conversed on a particular topic.

“Your highness” Minister lee called and Augustus shifted bus gaze to him.

“I don’t think what you did is right, the slave can’t be the empress” he said and others nodded.

“Yes that true, she is still very young” Another minister said.

“Mistress Esmeralda is capable of ruling our kingdom, she is more mature than that lady” another one muttered.

“Besides, we’ve never heard of a slave becoming an Empress, that too low” Minister Leong said.

“We can’t let a child rule us, that abusive”

“Yes!!!!” They chorused and soon silence erupted in the throne room as their words hanged in the air like a challenge as they waited for the Emperor’s response.

“Are you all done, or do anyone else have something to say” Emperor Augustus broke the silence but no one answered as they shook their head.

“Then it over” he added and they furrowed their brows.

“But your highness, you haven’t responded to our opinion” Minister Leong said.

“Do I have to, My decision cannot change…..if you are not satisfied with it then leave” He flared up.

“But Your highness, that…..”

“Don’t mention her name and stop calling her a slave” he half yelled and they kept quiet on their seat.

“I’ll be the one to choose the Empress who will rule my Kingdom not you………I choose Aurora and I’ll choose her again and again” He said, his voiced raised and they casted their head down.

Suddenly, a guards rushed into the throne room and knelt down immediately.

“Your highness, forgive me for interrupting” he pleaded.

“What is going on” Emperor Augustus asked.

“It the Prince, Prince Atlas…….escaped” he casted his head down

“What!!!!!!!…..you fools, are you that incompetent” he yelled, his anger rising.

“I really don’t know how it happened, a dark smoke engulfed us all which made us unconscious…., When we woke up. Prince Atlas is gone” he said and continued “I don’t know how he escaped but I think it is related to that smoke” he stammered fear in his voice.

Emperor Augustus gritted his teeth as he walked out of the throne room down to the Dungeon to see everyone dry.

He went to the dungeon that Atlas was locked to see it empty.

He walked in and a familiar scent filled his nose. His eyes widened on realization.

“Malicia” he muttered.

UNKNOWN LOCATION

Malicia and Atlas appeared in front of a river, a small house was near it.

“You should stay here for the mean time” Malicia said as Atlas squeezed his face ok seeing the house that is filled with cobwebs and dirt.

“This place, I can just go back to Heritas Village” he said.

“They’ll find you, and if you try going back to the palace……..I’ll collect those powers from you…..you can’t use it” she barked, her voice dangerous

“I can control it”

“They are too powerful to control, don’t try using it” Malicia’s warned and left.

Atlas furrowed his brow as he stared at the house settled before him.
