THE CURSE OF ALTVALL : CHAPTER 1 – 10

The Sacred Blood 2

He returned moments later to his hidden lair deep within Black Hollow Gorge. In the center of the room sat a towering black cauldron—the Supernatural Pot of Power. The flames beneath it burned blue. The air shimmered with ancient curses.

He opened the lid with reverence, letting the foul mist rise and swirl around him. Then, slowly, he dropped the bloodied handkerchief inside.

The pot hissed. The mist trembled.

Surganah grinned.

“With this,” he said to the shadows, “I mark her. Her purity is mine. Her fate, mine to command.”

Suddenly, the door to the lair burst open.

Sarella had followed.

Her body bruised, one leg dragging behind her, eyes swollen with grief and fury.

“You monster,” she screamed. “You touched my child!”

She lunged at him with a silver dagger—one passed down from her ancestors, forged in the old traditions of werewolf slayers.

Surganah caught her by the throat mid-air and lifted her off the ground.

“I should commend you,” he sneered. “So few have the strength to face me at all.”

With a sickening crack, he slammed her against the wall. Her bones shattered. Her body crumpled.

Then he dragged her lifeless corpse to the edge of the pot, slit her throat with a black claw, and let her blood drip into the stew of curses below.

As her final drops vanished into the steam, the pot flashed.

Surganah closed his eyes.

The spirits whispered.

Back in the charred remains of the hut, Mira awoke to the crackle of dying flames and the cold weight of silence.

She was alone.

Her innocence lost. Her mother slain.

And from deep in the woods, a howl pierced the night—Surganah, triumphant again.
