THE CURSE OF ALTVALL : CHAPTER 11 – 20

There was silence.

Not fear.

Just awe.

They knew it was madness. But sometimes, madness was the only path to freedom.

Suddenly, from the back of the cave, a rustling.

A lone figure stumbled into the torchlight. His face bruised, one arm hanging limp. Kael stepped forward.

“Darnel?”

The boy nodded, panting. “I escaped… from the Holding Pits. Surganah is preparing a new ritual. He’s not just torturing Lyara—he’s planning to sacrifice her.”

Gasps erupted. Reina’s jaw clenched.

“When?” Kael demanded.

“Tomorrow night. Under the Blood Moon.”

Kael’s eyes went to the map again. “Then we don’t have days. We have hours.”

The Clawless began scrambling, preparing weapons, donning cloaks, gathering vials of sea oil and small blades. Reina approached Kael.

“We’ll lose people.”

“I know.”

“And if we don’t succeed—”

“She dies. And so does hope.”

She nodded. “Then we fight.”

Elsewhere, in the Stone Fortress, Surganah stood over the supernatural pot, watching it swirl with smoke and fire.

“They gather,” it whispered. “Below. Around fire. They speak your death into flame.”

He smiled coldly. “Let them come.”

Behind him, Alpha Rador appeared.

“My lord. The scouts report movement in the caves. Should we strike?”

Surganah turned, his cape dragging like spilled ink. “No. Let them crawl. Let them hope.”

“But if they free the girl—”

“They won’t.”

Surganah approached his chained prisoner. Lyara, bloodied and pale, met his gaze with iron in her eyes.

He leaned in close.

“I want them to try,” he whispered. “I want them to see what happens when you reach for fire in the dark.”

She spat in his face.

He laughed.

“You’re already a martyr. Now… let’s make you a memory.”

Back in the caves, as the rebels packed and prepared to move under the veil of night, Kael raised his blade and said the words that would mark a new chapter in Altvall’s cursed story:

“For Lyara. For freedom. For every drop of blood spilled by his claws—we rise tonight.”

And across the island, hidden eyes watched the sky.

The Blood Moon was coming.

And with it… war.
