THE CURSE OF ALTVALL : CHAPTER 61 – 70
As he turned and strode from the chamber, the Supernatural Pot fell silent once more, its runes fading to mere whispers of light.
The fortress seemed to exhale, as though acknowledging the gravity of what had transpired.
Beyond the walls, the wind screamed, carrying with it the promise of battle yet to come.
Altvall Island held its breath, balanced on the knife’s edge of prophecy—and none, not even its cruelest Alpha, could say which way the blade would fall.

The Island in Pursuit
Before the sun could even crown the horizon, the horns of Altvall’s fortress blared across the Island—long, mournful notes that echoed through every valley and forest.
Surganah stood upon the battlements, arms folded over his dark chest-plate, as his command sliced through the morning mist:
“Every man, woman, and child who dares set foot upon this Island: find my son, Alpha Jeun! He is missing, and he must be returned—dead or alive.
Any who bring him to me shall be richly rewarded with gold, land, and favor in my court. Fail, and suffer the same fate as traitors.”
Below him, the sentries sprang into motion. Patrols fanned out across Altvall: along the rocky coastline, through the tangled woodlands, into the villages huddled beneath the cliffs.
Even the fishing boats were pressed into service—rowed back and forth across the grey waters, nets stowed, eyes scouring every wave for a glimpse of the child.

No sooner had she pressed it to her lips than tears blurred her vision.
The Queen’s grief was a weight that rooted her to her seat. She dared not hope that Surganah’s decree would bear fruit—far too many had vanished into the forests without a trace.
And even if someone found him, would they bring him back alive? She could not bear the thought of answering for her son’s blood.
