Episode 12

Rissa’s pov:
As much as I hated mom’s outfit today, I still loved how cheerful she was in making sure I enjoyed the day just like she promised.
Okay, I should be happy for her. I mean, most women get extremely fat after giving birth but mom’s lucky to still maintain the s3xy look.
The attention she was getting from people were just giving me the creeps.
So, Mykel got his own fortune cookie. I watched him unfold it and scanned through the note with his eyes.
I smiled and put into his side pocket.
I wish I could read what’s written in there.
Mom unwrapped hers too and chuckled.
“What does it say mom?” I asked her curiously.
“It states here that ‘something good is about to happen’ Thats good, isn’t it?” She replied and asked smiling.
“I don’t know. It sounds depressing” I shrugged and she laughed.
“Oh! Rissa. You sound just like my mother. She always says sardonic things to my father, all the time!” She beamed.
“Its been long since grandma visited. Why don’t you invite her to stay for a week?” I suggested and she looked up at the ceiling.
“I don’t think your father would want that but I’ll talk to him about it. Let’s see what he’d say about it” She said and turned to Mykel.
“Is there anything else you’d want us to do before going back home??”.
“No, ma’am. Thanks” His calm voice replied beside me.
“Okay then. Let’s head back” She said getting up from her seat.
(At the mansion)
We entered the house with mom on a phone call. I was feeling scared about mom traveling again.
I’m sure its her personal assistant that she is on the phone with.
Mykel was walking majestically to the stairs while the guards were holding onto the shopping bags.
“Alright, Maddie. Meet you at the airport” Mom whispered and brought her phone down from her ear.
“What did she say?” I asked wide-eyed.
She took a deep breath and sighed.
“Rissa, I’m traveling tomorrow. I have to represent your father at a meeting. You’d stay here with Mykel and possibly, your grandmother would be coming over”.
“Okay, mom. I understand. Um…Lucas Forbes birthday party is coming up next week. Am I allowed to go?” I asked giving her puppy eyes.
“Yeah…sure” she replied with her eyes glued to her phone.
I observed her for a while before rushing upstairs.
I have the whole house to myself again.
I might actually loose my mind from being alone here.
(An hour later)
Operation find out what is written in Mykel’s fortune cookie is a go!
I let my curiosity get the best of me at times.
Mykel had left his room and went downstairs wearing different pants so this is my chance to search the other pants he wore earlier.
I don’t want him to catch me going through his stuff since I gave him strict instructions not to touch my stuff.
I sneaked into his room successfully and shut the door.
His pants lying on his bed.
I never thought this could be so easy.
(The Forbes Mansion)
Lucas’s pov:
“Lucas!!” Mom yelled but I ignored her and kept walking out of the house.
“Lucas Forbes!!!” She yelled again.
I had almost gotten to my car when something metallic hit me hard at the back. I paused and turned to glance at her.
“Get back here and apologize to your sister!” She screamed again and my eyes dropped to what she had hit me with.
It was her cellphone.
Ouch. That hurts.
I ambled to where she was and gazed into her angry face. She looked a lot like shrek.
I lifted my head and realized the workers were watching.
They can never mind their business.
“I said, go and apologize to Madison!” She screamed again and I scoffed.
This is a complete waste of time.
I went back into the house and there she was on the floor – livid.
I dragged my feet to where she was and her eyes flared up.
“I’m sorry” I whispered and she scoffed.
“I want to hear it, Lucas” Mom’s annoying voice chided from behind.
“I’m so sorry!!” I yelled.
“If you dare push your sister again, there would be no birthday party for you. This is strike one!” She rasped and stormed out of the house.
I rolled my eyes and stretched my hand out to Madison.
She slapped it and got up on her own.
“I can’t believe you pushed me because of Rissa” she peeved.
“Why do you hate her so much?!” I asked pissed off.
“You told me that she’s better than me. How do you expect me to live with that, huh??”.
I shook my head quite amused.
“Next time you insult Rissa, it’s gonna hurt more than this” I threatened before leaving the house.
