Episode 19

Rissa’s pov:
I took the long stairs making sure no one was around. Classes had started but here I was sneaking around, on my way to the rooftop.
I can’t believe Lucas has something for me! I mean – it’s strange he’s suddenly picking interest in me.
We’ve never for once maintained eye contact since that day and slowly, he’s crawling into my life.
The wink, he followed me on Instagram, talking to me yesterday and then send in me a text that he has something for me.
Sounds a bit preposterous.
By the time I arrived at the rooftop, my knees were hurting like h’ll.
I’m not used to lot of things!
G©sh! He was already waiting.
He had his back on me in a shimmering black leather jacket.
I observed him for a while.
Between Mykel and Lucas, who looks more charming??
His neck snapped backwards and I met his gaze.
Geez! I should have said something when I got here.
“You look cute. I love your hair” He remarked and i saw his eyes twinkle.
“Thanks”.
I went closer to him and I tried not to overreact as the scent of his cologne danced on my nostrils.
“You smell nice” I said coyly and he smiled.
“Thanks. I went to the mall yesterday and I walked past this gold necklace. It just reminded me of you so I decided to get it for you”.
He dipped his hand into one of the pocket on the jacket and brought a white box.
My whole face lit up as he opened the box and used his two fingers to pick the glittering piece of jewelry.
“Turn around, please” He said passionately.
I was finally able to feel my body again and do as he asked.
I felt the necklace rest on my neck and he interlocked it.
“Can I take a picture?” He asked getting a hold of his phone.
I shrugged and stood affixed.
He took a few shots before putting his phone down.
“It suits you perfectly” He said with a smile plastered on his face.
This is getting awkward by the minute.
This isn’t the Lucas Forbes I know.
I don’t know much about him but he’s never this nice.
“You’re acting strange” I blunted and just when the words slipped, I wished to take them back.
“What do you mean?” He asked inserting his hands in his pockets.
“Nothing…I’m sorry” I blurted taking slow steps backwards.
“Rissa…”.
I turned around and raced for the stairs.
I was still hurting from the previous journey but my legs were moving faster than I ever thought it would.
Makes me wonder, who built this stairs??
I bumped into some girls and scurried off even before a word could be said.
I’m sure I heard them throwing insults at me. I guess I was a bit rude, back there.
Thank goodness!
I made it alive!!
I rushed into the classroom and headed straight to my seat.
“What happened?” Alex asked coming over.
“Did he kss you?” Zoe asked taking a sit beside me.
I’m so stupid!
Rissa is stupid!!
I can’t believe I ran from him. Like he was some bad person that wanted to hurt me.
I had a chance to be with Lucas Forbes and I blew it!.
Even after he gave me a necklace!….
I don’t deserve to wear it.
I yanked it off my neck and tossed it into Zoe’s hands.

Mykel’s pov:
School was over and people were starting to leave. I leaned against the car waiting on Rissa to come over.
I’ve been watching her closely so nothing happens to her – meaning she doesn’t go anywhere but home.
*Mykel* A voice called and I looked around to see who it was – Rissa’s driver.
He looked a bit perplexed.
“Sir, Rissa didn’t want me to tell you this but she asked me to take her to the mall after school. She has a date with her friends” He said as his expression dulled.
“Alright. If that’s all, you can go” I said and he nodded.
I watched him head back to Rissa’s car.
I entered my car and asked the driver to start up the engine then I turned back to her car.
It didn’t take up to a minute and Rissa appeared with her friends.
They hopped into the car and the driver drove out of the school compound.
I turned to my driver.
“Follow Rissa’s car, it just left right now” I pressured and he did just that.
