THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 1 – 10
Kaiden was suddenly pinned down, a sword pressed to his neck.
“Who are you?” the girl demanded, her voice cold and menacing.
Kaiden’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Wow, so you can talk,” he laughed nervously.
The girl’s expression didn’t change.
“Answer me,” she said, the blade cutting into Kaiden’s neck slightly.
Kaiden winced in pain. “You fainted on my car, and I brought you home since I didn’t know anything about you,” he explained fearfully.
The girl’s eyes narrowed, and for a moment, Kaiden thought he saw a flicker of recognition. And then, she returned the sword to its sheath and stood up, towering over Kaiden.
Kaiden let out a sigh of relief as he sat up, rubbing his sore neck.
“I saved you, and you’re trying to kill me instead,” he scoffed, getting up and heading to the kitchen.
He returned a few minutes later with a steaming bowl of noodles. “You must be hungry,” he said, offering her the food. “You should eat this.”
“Get out. I’m not eating that.” The girl snap.
Kaiden shrugged. “Good for you, then.” He turned and headed to his room.
Maledicta stared at the food for a while, her stomach growling with hunger. And then, suddenly, she had a taste for it. She gulped down the noodles in one swift motion, not even bothering to chew.
As she finished eating, she felt a strange sensation wash over her. It was as if she had been starving for days, and the food had awakened a deep hunger within her.
Kaiden’s eyes sparkled with amusement as he moved closer to Maledicta. “So you’re really hungry,” he said, his voice low and teasing.
But Maledicta didn’t respond. Instead, she started moving towards the exit door.
“So you’re going to leave without a single thank you?” he asked, his voice tinged with annoyance.
“You put me in so much trouble today.” He added.
He grabbed her arm, spinning her around to face him. But as soon as he touched her, Maledicta’s eyes glazed over, and she saw a vision.
It was Kaiden, lying in a pool of his own blood, his head cracked open, and men surrounding him with axes. Maledicta’s eyes snapped back into focus, her expression grim.
Kaiden’s eyes narrowed, concern etched on his face.
“What’s wrong with you?” he asked, his voice soft.
“One of the things I hate most in this world is owing someone,” she said coldly.
“So consider this as paying back for saving me.” She said and close her eyes.
Kaiden’s eyes widened in confusion. “What are you talking about?” he asked, but before he could get an answer, a portal opened behind Maledicta.
She grabbed Kaiden’s arm, dragging him into the portal. Kaiden’s eyes went wide as they were sucked into the swirling vortex.
When they emerged on the other side, Kaiden stumbled, his eyes adjusting to the bright lights. They were standing in the middle of Nightshade Wonderland, the school’s sprawling campus stretching out before them.
Kaiden’s eyes widened as he took in the sight.
“What is this place?” he asked, his voice full of wonder.
“Your new home” Maledicta said coldly and started leaving.
