THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 1 – 10
.
QUEEN EPUSA COVEN
The Queen Epusa Coven was a place of darkness and foreboding, where the very air seemed to vibrate with malevolent energy. The demons that inhabited this realm moved with an unnatural gait, their twisted forms seeming to shift and writhe like living shadows.
At the center of this dark coven stood a throne, upon which sat the queen herself. Epusa was a woman of imposing presence, her two curved horns gleaming with a sickly, yellowish light. Her black gown seemed to absorb the faint illumination that filtered through the coven, making her appear almost like a void incarnate.
Snakes slithered and curled around her body, their forked tongues darting in and out of their mouths as they seemed to sense the dark energy that emanated from their mistress.
A figure entered the coven, bowing its head in a gesture of abject submission.
“Did you find him?” Epusa asked, her voice low and menacing.
The figure trembled, its voice barely above a whisper. “I…I couldn’t, my queen.”
Epusa’s expression turned icy, her eyes flashing with anger.
“What? You couldn’t?” she yelled, her voice like a crack of thunder. The wind seemed to respond to her fury, picking up and sending several demons tumbling through the air.
The figure cowered, its eyes fixed on the ground.
“I am sorry, my queen. Maledicta suddenly showed up and ruined everything.” He said.
Epusa’s gaze narrowed, her eyes burning with intensity.
“That girl came to the future?” she asked, her voice dripping with malice.
The figure nodded, still trembling.
“Yes, my queen. But I think she is dead. I stabbed her twice with a dagger poisoned with blackthorn juice.” He said.
Epusa’s expression turned skeptical.
“Where is her body?” she asked, her voice cold.
The figure hesitated, its eyes darting around the coven as if searching for an escape route.
“I…I couldn’t find it, my queen. She must be dead somewhere.” He said nervously.
Epusa’s laughter was like a cold wind, sending shivers down the spines of the demons that cowered around her.
“You are really foolish to think that girl is dead,” she said, her voice dripping with contempt. “You don’t know the type of person she is.”
The figure took a step back, its eyes wide with fear.
“She can’t survive the stab to her chest,” he protested.
Epusa’s expression turned glacial.
“If you can’t get him, then where is the stone I gave you?” she asked, her voice like a knife cutting through the air.
The figure hesitated, its eyes dropping to the ground.
“It was destroyed when Maledicta showed up,” it mumbled.
Epusa’s scream was like a crack of thunder, shaking the very foundations of the coven.
“What!!” she yelled, springing up from her throne. “The stone I used all my energy to build, how dare you!”
The figure cowered, its eyes fixed on the ground as Epusa’s snakes slithered towards it, their forked tongues darting in and out of their mouths.
But before the snakes could strike, Maledicta suddenly appeared in their midst, her eyes blazing with fury. The demons nearby scurried for cover, hiding themselves from her wrath.
