THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 101 – 110

Benedicta’s smile faltered, and she looked at Thane with a mixture of anger and frustration. But she quickly regained her composure, flashing Thane a bright smile.

“Of course,” she said, her voice dripping with sweetness.

Kaiden looked at Thane, confused.

“Let’s go, I only have the right to tell you what to do” he said, pulling Kaiden away.

Benedicta watched them leave, her eyes narrowing in frustration. She turned to the other students who were still grining at her.

“I’m no longer interested,” she said, her voice cold.

The students all looked at each other in confusion, but Benedicta just turned and walked away, leaving them all staring after her.

Belladonna watched Benedicta leave, her eyes narrowed in suspicion. “She’s definitely up to something,” she muttered to herself. “But what?”

Lilith was engrossed in her book, sitting in the senior section of the library. The quiet atmosphere and musty smell of old books were her sanctuary. She was so absorbed in her reading that she didn’t notice Thane’s arrival until he stopped in front of her, his eyes fixed on her.

Lilith looked up, startled, and their eyes met for a brief moment. But Thane quickly turned away, his expression unreadable. Lilith’s heart sank.

“Are we going to be like this now?” Lilith asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Thane stopped in his tracks, his back still turned to her. For a moment, Lilith thought he wasn’t going to respond. But then, he slowly turned around, his eyes locking onto hers.

“You’re the one who started it,” he said, his voice low and husky.

Lilith felt a surge of emotions,”Then is that why you’re ignoring me?” she asked, her voice trembling. “Did you know how much my heart hurts?”

“I just think about what you said that day, and I realized it’s true,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. “I couldn’t bear to see you sad when I finally find my mate. You know us wolves; we get too attached to our mates. When I saw how Cassius was behaving, I knew the mate bond is stronger than anything.” He added gently.

Lilith felt tears pricking at the corners of her eyes. “Are you saying we should give up now?” she asked, her voice cracking.

Thane’s eyes locked onto hers, filled with a deep regret. “I think that’s the best option, Lilith. I don’t want you to be sad when you see me with another girl.” He said.

Lilith felt a wave of anger wash over her. “What about now?” she snapped, her voice rising. “Aren’t I sad already?”

Thane took a step closer to her, his eyes filled with a deep longing. “You have to understand me,” he said gently.

But Lilith was beyond reason. “I have nothing to understand,” she said, her voice cold. “You can have the library all to yourself.”

With that, she stormed out of the library, leaving Thane standing alone, his eyes fixed on the empty space where Lilith had been.

Thane groaned, running his hands through his hair in frustration. “All this is driving me crazy,” he muttered to himself.

Meanwhile, Lilith was almost in tears, but she quickly composed herself when she saw Belladonna approaching.

“Are you okay?” Belladonna asked, concern etched on her face.

Lilith forced a smile. “Yes.”
