THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 11 – 20

The meeting room was filled with tension as Maledicta walked in, her eyes scanning the room with a hint of disdain. Belladonna, seated at the far end of the table, let out a frustrated sigh.
“I don’t know why we always have to wait for you,” Belladonna said, her voice dripping with annoyance.
Maledicta ignored her, her eyes fixed on an empty chair as she made her way towards it. She sat down.
“The school is in danger,We have to be extra careful now and protect the students” Thane said.
“The shield was broken too. We need extra energy to repair it. Will you help with that, Male?” Cassius asked while staring at Maledicta.
Maledicta didn’t respond, but her silence was answer enough. She stood up, her movements abrupt, and started to leave.
But Belladonna’s voice stopped her. “We aren’t done with the meeting,” she yelled, her face red with anger. “You can’t just leave.”
Maledicta turned back, her eyes narrowing. “Did you have a problem with me?” she asked, her voice low and menacing.
“Wow, I thought you were deaf. Can you stop being so arrogant and do things with others? It’s annoying the way you think you own everything just because your mom is the mistress.”Belladonna sneered.
Maledicta’s expression didn’t change, but her eyes seemed to flash with anger. She superspeeded to Belladonna, her movements a blur, and grabbed her neck.
“I can see you really have a problem with me,” Maledicta said, her voice cold and detached.
“I don’t care what it is, but mind the way you speak to me.” She said and with that, she released Belladonna, who fell to the ground, coughing up blood. Maledicta turned to leave, but Belladonna, still on the ground, pulled out her sword and tried to attack Maledicta from behind.
But something seemed to throw her off, and she stumbled, her sword flying out of her hand. Cassius, who had been watching the exchange, run after Maledicta.
“Why did you bring that boy here?” he asked.
Maledicta didn’t even slow down.
“You don’t expect me to answer that,” she said.
Cassius watched as she disappeared into the distance, a small smile playing on his lips.

Kaiden was pacing back and forth in front of Maledicta’s door, his mind consumed by thoughts of their previous encounter. He couldn’t shake the feeling that he had been too harsh, that he had said things he couldn’t take back.
As he turned to pace in the other direction, he suddenly saw Maledicta approaching. His heart skipped a beat as their eyes met, and for a moment, they just stared at each other.
Maledicta’s expression was neutral, but Kaiden could sense a hint of wariness in her eyes. She seemed to be waiting for him to make a move, to see what he would do next.
Kaiden took a deep breath and smiled,”Hey,” he said, his voice soft.
But Maledicta just ignored him, walking past him as if he didn’t exist.
“I’m sorry for last night,I shouldn’t have said all those things to you.” He quickly said.
Maledicta stopped in her tracks, her back still turned to him. For a moment, she just stood there, frozen.
Then, slowly, she turned to face him.
“You’re not lying,I will remain alone for the rest of my life, and about me ruining my life…I don’t think that’s possible, because my life is already ruined.” She said flatly.
“I didn’t mean anything I said to you,” he said, his voice sincere.
“I was just emotional.” He added.
Maledicta’s expression didn’t change, “You should, especially about hating me. I was born to be hated.” She said.
Kaiden’s eyes locked onto hers, “No, you’re not,You’re so special, more special than others. I’m sure everyone will soon see how special you are. You’re not cursed, Maledicta. You’re just special.” He said and left.
To her shock, Maledicta felt her lip curve in a smile, something that have never happened before. She quickly run after Kaiden but stop when she saw him hugging Benedicta. The smile disappeared and she turn back immediately.
