“Is this weak thing supposed to kill me?” Lucan asked, his voice dripping with disdain. He smirked as he continued to strangle Maledicta.
Benedicta watched, her smile growing wider.
“You’re quite…impressive, my lord,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Lucan’s gaze flicked to Benedicta, his expression unreadable. But he didn’t release his grip on Maledicta’s neck.
The students watched in horror, unsure of what to do. Some of them took a step forward, but Lucan’s gaze warned them off.
Maledicta’s face was turning blue, her eyes bulging as she struggled to breathe. But Lucan just laughed, his eyes glinting with malevolence.
And then, just as suddenly as he had started, Lucan released Maledicta. She fell to the ground, gasping for air.
Lucan’s gaze swept the students, his expression cold.
“Aren’t you the one born to kill me?” Lucan asked, his voice dripping with coldness, as he took majestic steps towards Maledicta.
Maledicta struggled to get up from the ground, her eyes fixed on Lucan’s face.
“Kaiden, what has come over you?” she asked weakly.
Lucan’s gaze flicked to Maledicta, his expression unreadable.
“And who is that?” he asked, his voice laced with confusion.
Maledicta’s eyes flashed with anger as she glared at Benedicta.
“What did you do to him?” she demanded.
Benedicta smirked, her eyes gleaming with malice.
“I did what was supposed to be done years ago,” she said.
Maledicta’s face twisted with rage as she launched herself at Benedicta, but some guards quickly intervened, protecting Benedicta.
“You demon, leave Kaiden’s body right now!” Maledicta screamed, shaking Lucan’s chest.
Lucan’s smirk grew wider as he watched Maledicta’s outburst. He suddenly released her hand from his shirt, and Maledicta fell to the ground.
Ryder rushed forward, his eyes filled with concern.
“Kaiden, what came over you? Are you angry that we didn’t find you on time? It’s my fault, I should have sensed the intruder,” Ryder said sadly.
Lucan stared at Ryder, his expression unreadable. He didn’t say anything, but instead started approaching Maledicta, who was still on the ground.
He raised her chin, his fingers digging into her skin.
“I won’t be happy if I kill you like this,” he said coldly.
“At least we should have a fight. I should know how capable you are.” He added.
Maledicta’s eyes flashed with defiance, but Lucan’s grip on her chin tightened.
Just then, Mistress Morwen flew towards Lucan, a dagger glinting in her hand.
“Stay away from my daughter!” she yelled.
Lucan quickly moved away, but the dagger cut his cheek, leaving a thin trail of blood.
Mistress Morwen’s eyes widened as she attacked Lucan again, but he caught her easily, his grip like a vice.
