The students were having the time of their lives, laughing and chatting as they walked around the school. The morning lessons had just ended, and while some students had retired to their rooms, others were sticking around, enjoying the warm sunshine and each other’s company.
Benedicta was busy showing Aka around the school, taking her to all the hidden nooks and crannies that only a few students knew about. Aka’s eyes were wide with wonder as she took in the sights and sounds of the school.
“Your school is just so amazing,” Aka breathed out.
Benedicta smiled, “Yeah, I love it too,” she said.
As they walked, they suddenly caught sight of Kaiden, who was standing among a group of students, regaling them with stories of his world. The students were laughing and listening with rapt attention, and Kaiden’s face was alight with excitement.
“Who is that?” Aka asked, her eyes fixed on Kaiden with a curious expression.
Benedicta smiled, her eyes also fixed on Kaiden. “He’s a friend,” she said softly.
Aka’s eyes never left Kaiden’s face. “What’s his name?” she asked, her voice full of curiosity.
But before Benedicta could answer, Kaiden suddenly looked up, his eyes locking onto Benedicta’s. He smiled, and started walking towards them, Ryder following close behind.
“I’m sorry for this morning,” Kaiden said, his eyes fixed on Benedicta’s. “Okay, it wasn’t my fault, I don’t…”
Benedicta smiled, “It’s okay, maybe I overreacted in the morning too.” She said cutting him off.
Kaiden’s face lit up with relief. “So you’re not angry with me anymore?” he asked, his eyes hopeful.
Benedicta nodded, her smile widening. “No, I’m not.” She said.
Kaiden smile and looked at Aka, who was still staring at him with a curious expression.
“Meet a friend,” Benedicta said, pointing to Aka. “She’s new here.”
Aka’s eyes never left Kaiden’s face. “Hey,” she said, her voice soft.
Kaiden muttered a greeting, feeling uncomfortable under Aka’s intense gaze.
“I am Aka” she said and grabbed his hand.
“Kaiden” he muttered while trying to release himself from her strong grip.
“Nice name, you are handsome too” she said.
“Thanks” Kaiden said and release himself, Benedicta was already glaring dagger at Aka but she quickly change it to a smile when Kaiden look at her.
“Bye” Kaiden said to her before leaving.
Ryder waved at Aka, who returned the wave with a smile.
Benedicta’s eyes narrowed, her gaze fixed on Aka.
“You know him?” she asked, her voice neutral.
Aka’s eyes flicked to Benedicta’s. “We met earlier today,Is anything wrong?” She asked.
Benedicta’s smile faltered, and she looked away, her eyes fixed on Kaiden’s retreating back.
“You just look like the kind of person who wouldn’t want to be seen with someone like him,(Ryder)” she said gently.
Aka’s eyes narrowed, her gaze fixed on Benedicta’s.
“You must be wrong about me then,” she said coldly.
Benedicta’s smile returned, but it was tinged with a hint of malice. “We’ll see about that.”
Just then, a loud bell sounded, and students started running towards a direction.
“What’s wrong?” Aka asked, her eyes fixed on the rushing students.
“It’s the emergency alarm,” she said. “I guess something’s wrong.” She said.
Aka’s eyes flicked to Benedicta’s. “I guess I should go then,See you later.” Aka said
And with that, she turned and ran off, leaving Benedicta watching her go with her smile slowly disappearing.
