THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 31 – 40

Queen Epusa chuckled, “Yes, it was worth it,” she said.

“You see, there was a prophecy thousands of years ago that a boy would be born. He would be so powerful, and he would be our demon lord. He would destroy the world.” Epusa started.

“The people of Nightshade tried to stop it, but they weren’t successful. Then, a woman was pregnant, and her husband and his dad hid it from people.

The baby spent more than five hundred years in her belly, and when it was time to be born, he started manifesting cruel power.”

Aka’s eyes were glued to her mother’s face, her expression rapt with attention.

Queen Epusa continued. “The grandfather wanted to save his grandson, and that’s why he summoned sorcerers.

Lucan’s power was sealed into the ‘Gold Book.’ He was born as an ordinary human and faced a lot of bullying because Nightshade people hate humans.”

“…and then one night, after something terrible happened, he suddenly disappeared,” Epusa said.

“He is our only key to taking over the world. We have to find him, and you will marry him and reign beside him forever.” She concluded her story.

Aka’s brow furrowed in confusion. “How is this useful?” she asked while staring at the book.

Epusa’s smile grew wider. “If the book is opened, his power will return to him, and he will come to us by himself.” She said.

“Then what are we waiting for?” Aka asked, reaching out to grab the book, she try to open it.

But as soon as she touched it, the book became scorching hot, forcing Aka to throw it away with a cry of pain.

Epusa’s expression turned serious. “It can’t be opened unless his blood is dropped on it.” She said.

Aka’s face twisted in frustration. “Where are we going to find him, then?” she demanded.

Epusa’s smile returned, “There is another solution. That girl, Maledicta… if her blood is dropped on the book, it will open too.” Epusa said.

“What are you talking about?” she asked.

“That girl is more special than you think. All you need to do is bring me a little drop of her blood.” Queen Epusa said.

“Trust me, Mum, I will do anything I can,” Aka said, before vanishing into thin air.

Epusa’s smile grew wider as she slowly picked up the book from the ground, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.

Benedicta suddenly appeared beside Aka, her eyes narrowing as she gazed at her.

“Where are you coming from?” she asked.

Aka turned to her, a smirk playing on her lips. “Somewhere important,” she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

“What are you doing with Kaiden yesterday?” Benedicta demanded, her voice rising.

Aka’s smirk grew wider. “Wow, are you stalking me now?” she asked, her voice mocking.

Benedicta’s face twisted with rage. “Stay away from him,” she warned, her voice cold and deadly.

Aka scoffed, her eyes rolling. “Why should I? You don’t have the right to tell me that.” She said.

Benedicta’s eyes flashed with anger, and she suddenly reached out and grabbed a rope that was hanging from a nearby tree. She flung it around Aka’s neck, pulling it tight.

Aka’s eyes widened in shock as she stumbled backwards, her back hitting the tree trunk. She fell to the ground, gasping for air as Benedicta tightened the rope around her neck.

“If I ever see you with Kaiden again, I will kill you,” Benedicta hissed, her eyes blazing with fury.

Aka’s face turned red as she struggled to breathe, her eyes bulging out of their sockets. She tried to speak, but all that came out was a strangled gasp.

Benedicta released the rope, and Aka collapsed to the ground, gasping for air. She coughed and spluttered, her eyes streaming with tears.

As she looked up at Benedicta, Aka’s eyes flashed with anger and hatred.

“Witch,” she cursed, her voice barely above a whisper.
