THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 31 – 40
Ryder hesitated before speaking. “Or you’ll be burned to death.”
Kaiden’s face paled. “Now it’s getting creepy.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll sort it out. I just wanted to warn you so you can prepare yourself.” He said.
Kaiden nodded, still trying to process the warning. Ryder stood up, a smile on his face.
“Hey, want to take your mind off things? There’s a game going on, and I thought you might want to watch.”
Kaiden’s face lit up. “Of course I want to.”
Ryder grinned. “Let’s go then.”
Together, they ran out of the room.

.
Belladonna was walking down the corridor, her long, dark hair swaying behind her. She was lost in thought, As she turned a corner, she saw Cassius coming from the other direction.
She stopped in her tracks, her eyes fixed on him. But to her surprise, Cassius didn’t even acknowledge her presence. He simply walked past her, his eyes fixed on some point ahead.
Belladonna’s eyes narrowed, her heart stinging with hurt. She quickly caught up to him, her voice calling out to him.
“My dad wants you to visit him at the palace during the period of visit.” She said.
Cassius stopped and turned to her, “Tell him I’m not interested.” He said.
Belladonna’s eyes widened in shock. How could he be so cruel? Didn’t he care about her feelings at all? “Till when will you continue to be like this?” she asked, her voice shaking with emotion.
“It wasn’t my fault that I’m your mate, and I couldn’t help but feel connected to you because of our bond. You’re hurting me.” She cried.
Cassius’s expression didn’t change. He simply shrugged and turned to leave.
“Get rid of that hurt,I rejected you already, but you didn’t accept my rejection because of your selfishness. I told you I don’t love you, and I never will.” He muttered.
Belladonna’s eyes blazed with anger and hurt. How could he say such cruel things to her? Didn’t he know how much she loved him? “Why?” she yelled, her voice echoing off the walls. “Just why? She hasn’t even given you a chance, and you make me hate her. You turn me into a monster.” She said.
Cassius stopped and turned to her, his eyes flashing with anger. “I didn’t make you do that,You brought it upon yourself. All you have to do is accept my rejection. I won’t see your father, and don’t come to visit my parents either.” He snapped.
Belladonna’s face twisted with rage and hurt. “I’ll make Maledicta suffer,” she hissed. “I’ll hurt her because of you.”
Cassius shrugged, his expression unchanging. “Good luck to you then.”
He turned to leave, but Belladonna quickly grabbed his arm. “Please, listen to me,” she begged. “I…”
But Cassius wasn’t interested. He snatched his arm out of her grasp, and Belladonna fell to the ground, her palms scraping against the stone floor.
Cassius didn’t even look back. He simply kept walking, leaving Belladonna to pick herself up.
As she sat on the ground, staring at her scraped palms, Just as she was about to give in to her tears, Belladonna felt a pair of arms lift her off the ground. She looked up to see Thane.
“What are you doing?” Belladonna asked, trying to struggle out of his grasp.
Thane held her firmly. “My brother hurt you,” he said. “This is all I can do to help.”
