Benedicta’s smile faltered for a moment, but she quickly recovered. “I came to see you,” she said. “We didn’t see each other yesterday because I was busy. I missed you.”
“Oh, I didn’t even notice you weren’t around,” Kaiden said with a smile.
Benedicta’s face fell, and for a moment, Kaiden thought he saw a flash of hurt in her eyes. But then she smiled, and the moment was gone.
“There’s a lot of preparation going on,” she said. “You’re not supposed to be sleeping. You should pack your stuff too.”
Kaiden nodded,He moved to his closet, Benedicta following close behind.
“You can follow me home,” she said, smiling up at him. “Me, you, and my mom.”
“I’m following Ryder already,” he said.
“Oh” she muttered sadly.
“What did you mean by you and your mom? What about Maledicta?” He asked.
“She can’t go to the town,” she said. “She hasn’t been there since she was born. She was hated there because of the calamity her birth caused.” He said.
Kaiden’s eyes widened in shock. “Are you telling me she’s never been to her hometown?” he asked, feeling a sense of outrage.
Benedicta nodded, her eyes downcast. “Right from where she was born, she’s been in this school.”
Kaiden’s face twisted with anger. “That’s unfair to her,” he said.
“Yes, it’s unfair, but you can’t involve yourself with her, Kaiden. She’s dangerous. I advise you to stay away.” She said.
“She’s not that bad,And I think it’s about time people started understanding that.” He said.
Benedicta’s face twisted with anger, and for a moment, Kaiden thought he saw a flash of hatred in her eyes. “They’ll never understand,” she spat. “Because she’ll never change.”
Kaiden’s eyes widened in shock. “She’s your sister,” he said.
Benedicta’s face twisted with anger, and she yelled, “Yeah, that’s why I’m honest, because I like her!”
She turned and stormed towards the door, but then she suddenly stopped, her eyes closing as if she was in pain.
She suddenly a vision where Kaiden was on the bed and Aka was trying to climb him and kiss him, she can see vision of the past while Maledicta saw the future.
“Are you okay?” Kaiden asked, taking a step forward.
But Benedicta didn’t respond. She just stood there, her eyes closed, her face twisted in a mixture of pain and shock.
And then, in an instant, she was gone, storming out of the room without a word.
Kaiden was left standing there, feeling confused and worried. What had just happened? And what was wrong with Benedicta?.

Thane walked into his brother’s room, a look of excitement on his face.
“Are you ready? Our palanquin is already waiting,” he said, his eyes scanning the room to make sure Cassius had everything he needed.
Cassius was packing a few last-minute items into his bag, his face focused on the task at hand.
“I just have a few more things to pack,” he said, not looking up.
