THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 51 – 60
As the battle raged on, Maledicta began to glow with an ethereal light. Her sword shone brighter, and her movements became even faster. She was a force to be reckoned with, and the demon’s images began to fall before her.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Maledicta spotted the real Baa. She charged forward, her sword flashing in the moonlight. With a swift and deadly strike, she cut off the demon’s head, and its images vanished instantly.
The students cheered, their voices echoing across the lake. The people, who had been hiding in fear, began to emerge from their hiding places. They gathered around Maledicta and the other students, their faces filled with gratitude.
“Thank you all for saving us,” a man said, his voice trembling with emotion.
“If it hadn’t been for you all, we would have been dead,Our power is no match for the demon.” A woman added.
“We’re sorry for the way we treated you at first,” a man said.
“We shouldn’t have done that.” Another one said as they bow in front of her.
Maledicta muttered a brief response, her face still cold. But the people didn’t seem to mind. They were just grateful to be alive.
As the people began to disperse, a girl waved at Maledicta, and she returned the wave, her face softening ever so slightly.
Cassius approached Maledicta, his eyes scanning her body for any signs of injury.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
Maledicta muttered a brief response, pushing him away. But Cassius didn’t seem to mind. He was just relieved that she was safe.
Belladonna, on the other hand, looked a bit worse for wear. She had sustained some bruises during the fight, but Cassius didn’t seem to notice. Thane, however, did. He approached Belladonna, his eyes filled with concern.
“Are you okay?” he asked gently.
Belladonna nodded, smiling weakly. Thane handed her a bottle of ointment.
“Remember to use it” he said and nodded.
As the students began to leave, Maledicta approached Kaiden. But she stopped when she saw Benedicta already by his side. She turned and walked away, her face cold and unyielding.
The students left, and the people began to return to their daily lives. But Mistress Morwen and her group arrived, their faces some minutes later.
“We heard a demon was here,” Mistress Morwen said, her eyes scanning the area.
The man they had approached nodded. “Yes, that’s true. But the white-haired girl and her friends helped us.” He said.
Mistress Morwen’s eyes narrowed.
“White hair? Did you mean the cursed girl?” One of her group members asked.
“Yes, she helped us.”The man nodded.
The group began to whisper among themselves, their faces filled with surprise. Mistress Morwen, however, couldn’t stop smiling. She was glad to hear that Maledicta had helped the people.

The fun had already come to an end, and people were starting to head home, exhausted but happy after a day of celebration. Benedicta, however, was still looking around for Kaiden, her eyes scanning the crowd.
Just as she was starting to get frustrated, someone suddenly dragged her away from the crowd. She turned to see Belladonna glaring at her.
“What do you want?” Benedicta asked angrily, trying to wriggle free from Belladonna’s grasp.
“I know you’re the one who shot the arrow,” Belladonna said, her voice low and even.
“You did it intentionally to expose Maledicta.” She added.
Benedicta’s eyes widened in feigned innocence. “What are you talking about? Why would I want to hurt my sister?”
Belladonna’s expression didn’t change. “That’s what I’m wondering. She’s your sister, but I saw you myself shooting the arrow. You were so happy, grinning from ear to ear when she was discovered. And then, the next minute, you were faking tears, showing everyone how caring and concerned you were. That’s when I realized you’re a two-faced witch.” Belladonna said.
