THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 61 – 70
Arachne’s face turned red with anger. “I am Princess Arachne, a flower fairy. My father is the king of the fairies’ town, and I am his only daughter. I’m surprised you didn’t know about me.” She scoffed.
“Oh, I’ve never heard of you.”Ryder smirked.
“You’re going to be punished for that when I get married. My future husband is the crown prince of the Nightshade city.” She said.
Ryder’s eyes widened in shock. “What? Future husband?” He asked.
Arachne smiled, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “Of course, I was told during the festival.” She said.
Ryder’s expression turned incredulous. “Why are you happy about it? You don’t even know him.” He said.
Arachne’s smile never wavered. “I don’t know him, but people say he’s very handsome and nice. I couldn’t wait to meet him.” She giggles.
“You’re unbelievable.”Ryder scoffed.
Arachne’s eyes narrowed. “Why do you look annoyed? Are you jealous?” She asked.
“No, no,” Ryder snapped, standing up and storming out of the library.
As he walked away, he couldn’t believe what he had just heard. His parents had betrothed him to some princess without even asking him first. He felt a wave of anger wash over him, and he couldn’t wait to confront his parents about it.

Benedicta walked towards Kaiden’s room, her mind preoccupied with thoughts of their last encounter. She hadn’t spoken to him since the incident, and she wasn’t sure how to approach him.
Just as she was about to reach his room, she saw Aka entering the forest. Benedicta’s curiosity was piqued – where was Aka always sneaking off to?
Without hesitation, Benedicta followed Aka, careful to keep a safe distance. Aka seemed to know exactly where she was going, navigating the forest with ease.
As they walked, the trees grew taller and the air grew thick with an eerie energy. Benedicta could feel that they were approaching something sinister.
Suddenly, Aka vanished out of the school grounds, and Benedicta followed suit. They soon found themselves standing in front of a cave, the entrance guarded by twisted, gnarled trees.
Benedicta watched as Aka entered the cave, the demons inside bowing down to her. Benedicta’s eyes widened in surprise – what was Aka’s connection to these creatures?
She made herself invisible and followed Aka into the cave. The air inside was thick with the stench of decay and corruption. Benedicta’s stomach churned as she took in the twisted, nightmarish landscape.
As they walked deeper into the cave, Benedicta saw all manner of creepy demons, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly energy. She gasped and hid behind a stone, her heart racing with fear.
But then she saw Queen Epusa, her presence commanding attention. Aka called out to her, “Mum!” and Benedicta’s eyes widened in shock.
“Are you here with the blood?” Epusa asked coldly.
Aka shook her head. “I couldn’t, she’s just too smart. I don’t know what to do, but I’m definitely not giving up.” She said.
Epusa’s smile sent shivers down Benedicta’s spine.
“I’ve found out that Lucan is no longer in the future. He could be anywhere in this world.” Epusa said.
“Mum, I promise I’ll either bring Maledicta’s blood or bring the real Lucan to you. I have to avenge Dad’s death.”Aka said.
Epusa’s eyes seemed to gleam with malevolence.
“The real Lucan has a mark on his back. It was supposed to be on his forehead, but it moved to his back after his power was sealed. So, you can watch those male students – he could be among them.” Epusa said.
“I promise, Mum.”Aka nodded.
As Aka turned to leave, she suddenly stopped.
“That girl – I’ve learned she’s as powerful as Lucan. What if they come together? What will happen?” She asked curiously.
“They can never come together. It’s too dangerous. They’re two opposite people. Don’t even think about it.” Epusa said.
Aka nodded, though Benedicta could sense a hint of curiosity in her voice.
“Okay, Mother. I should go back to school before I’m noticed.”she said.
As Aka left the cave, Benedicta followed, a smile spreading across her face. She was happy to have discovered this secret, and she was already thinking of ways to use it to her advantage.
