THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 71 – 80

As Mistress Morwen approach Kaiden lifeless body Benedicta grabbed her mother’s arm, holding her back.

“Mum, it’s dangerous,” she warned.

But Mistress Morwen was resolute.

“I know, but I can’t just watch him die. Maledicta will never forgive herself for it, and I don’t want her blaming herself for anything.” Mistress Morwen said.

Benedicta rolled her eyes, watching as her mother moved closer to Kaiden’s unconscious form.

But just as Mistress Morwen was about to touch Kaiden.

“I think I can heal him.”Benedicta spoke up.

Mistress Morwen turned to face her, surprise etched on her face.

“What are you talking about?” she asked.

Benedicta’s expression was calm, but her eyes betrayed a hint of desperation.

“Remember, healing is part of my power. I can heal him by moving the poison to my body and then I’ll heal myself.” She said.

Mistress Morwen’s face clouded with worry.

“What if it doesn’t work? It could be very dangerous for you.” She said.

But Benedicta wasn’t even afraid, she just let out a smile.

“Don’t worry, Mum, I’ll do it.” She said.

She moved closer to Kaiden, her eyes fixed on his pale face. She was still angry with him for ruining her plan to get rid of Maledicta, but she couldn’t let him die. She still loved him, despite everything.

She touched his chest, closed her eyes, and began to mutter some words. The poison started to move from Kaiden’s body to hers, and she felt a searing pain coursing through her veins.

But she gritted her teeth, using all her power to resist the pain. She stood up when she was done, her face pale and her body weak.

“He should be taken to the physician too,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Mistress Morwen nodded, her eyes filled with gratitude. “Thank you, Benedicta.”

But Benedicta just shook her head, her eyes flashing with anger. “Don’t thank me, Mum. I just did it for myself.” She wanted to fall and her mother wanted to support her but she quickly move back.

“Touching me is dangerous mum and I told you I am okay” she said And with that, she turned and left, disappearing into the night.

As soon as she reached her room, she went into her wardrobe, her body already starting to feel the effects of the poison. She was groaning in deep pain, her body red and inflamed.

She brought out a bottle and emptied the contents into her mouth. At first, nothing seemed to happen, but then her body suddenly froze, encased in a layer of ice.

When the ice finally melted, Benedicta was okay, her body healed. She lay down on her bed, breathing a sigh of relief.

“Thanks goodness I bought the frozen water,” she muttered, a sly smile spreading across her face.

The frozen water was the only medicine that could cure Red Flame poison, the antidote. Benedicta had bought it with the poison, knowing that it might come in handy someday.

She scoffed, her eyes flashing with anger. “Why did my plan keep falling?” she muttered.

But for now, she just closed her eyes, a sly smile still playing on her lips. She knew she wouldn’t be backing down soon. There was always room for another plan, another scheme to get rid of Maledicta and claim Kaiden for herself.

And with that thought, Benedicta drifted off to sleep.
