Ryder burst into Kaiden’s room, a look of excitement on his face. But his expression quickly changed to one of surprise as he took in Kaiden’s partially dressed state.

Kaiden was standing in front of his dresser, his shirt slung over his shoulder, ready to be put on. Ryder’s eyes widened as he took in the sight of Kaiden’s bare back.

“Wait, what is this mark on your back?” Ryder asked, his voice full of surprise.

Kaiden shrugged, seemingly unconcerned. “I don’t know, it’s been there since I was born.” He said.

Ryder’s eyes were fixed on the mark, “Wow, it looks strange. I feel weird about it too.” He said.

Kaiden chuckled, “It’s nothing serious. But it does itch sometimes. And I could swear it shone once, but I’m sure that was just my imagination.” He shrugged.

“What if it’s not just your imagination? What if it’s something more?” Ryder asked while touching the mark.

Kaiden raised an eyebrow,”What are you talking about?” He asked.

“I’m talking about the possibility that you’re not human. That mark could be a sign of something more.” Ryder said.

“You should show Mistress Morwen,” Ryder said, his voice full of conviction. “She’s been around for centuries. If anyone knows what that mark means, it’s her.” He added.

Kaiden nodded, seemingly considering Ryder’s words.

“Why are you here, anyway?” Kaiden asked, changing the subject.

“I’m off to the palace. I’ll be back tomorrow night.” Ryder said coldly

“How do you feel about getting married?” He asked.

Ryder’s expression turned serious, and he shrugged. “I don’t know what to say. Let’s just get there first.” He said.

Kaiden chuckled and clapped Ryder on the back. “Okay, can’t wait for you to come back.” He said.

Ryder grinned and waved as he left the room. Kaiden watched him go, a thoughtful expression on his face.

As the door closed behind Ryder, Kaiden turned his attention back to the mark on his back. He couldn’t shake off the feeling that Ryder’s words had stirred up inside him.

What if he wasn’t human? What if that mark meant something more?, he turn his back towards the mirror and stare at the mark once before wearing his clothes, he couldn’t stay with Maledicta tonight since Belladonna is hanging out with her.

Maledicta’s heart skipped a beat as she heard the knock on the door. She was expecting Belladonna, but as she opened the door, her eyes widened in horror. Instead of her friend, she saw a letter filled with blood on the ground.

She picked it up with shaking hands, her heart racing with anticipation. As she opened the letter, her eyes scanned the words, and her blood ran cold.

“Since you can’t give him to me, then none of us can have him. You should visit the forest. I have something special for you there.”

Maledicta’s eyes widened in terror as she realized who must have written the letter. Benedicta. She felt a chill run down her spine as she dropped the paper, her hands shaking uncontrollably.

Without hesitation, she vanished into Kaiden’s room, but he wasn’t there. Panic set in as she quickly went into the forest, calling out his name. But there was no response.

As she walked deeper into the forest, her heart pounding in her chest, she stumbled upon something wet. She looked down to see a pool of blood, and her heart skipped a beat.

She moved back fearfully, her eyes scanning the surrounding area. And then, she saw it. Kaiden’s hand was nailed to a tree, his body hanging limply.

Maledicta’s scream was blood-curdling as she stumbled backward, her eyes fixed on Kaiden’s lifeless body.

“No, no, no!” she cried, her voice echoing through the forest. “Kaiden, please!”

But as she looked closer, everything suddenly vanished, and she was left standing alone in the forest. She heard a laughter behind her, and she spun around, her eyes scanning the area.
