“So you apologized to him” Tiana said on phone.

“Yeah”

“So you guys are cool now”

“I guess” I sighed remembering what happened yesterday and how I talked to him. When I woke up in the morning, he had disappeared again.

“Now tell me the juicy part”

“What juicy part?” I rolled my eyes.

“Don’t tell me you guys didn’t kss or something”

“We didn’t”

“Such a boring couple”

“I know, right” I agreed.

“I have to go now. My mom needs me. Argh!, needs to get the fuck out of this house as soon as possible. Always ordering me around” she groaned.

“When you gain admission into Harvard, you will be free as a bird” I said.

“Yeah, can’t wait. Talk to ya later” she ended the call.

I dropped my phone and laid on the bed ready to take a long nap.

I really can’t wait to get into Harvard. Here is so boring.

THE NEXT DAY….

I woke up feeling more energetic and got off the bed. I checked the wall clock and my eyes widened in seeing the time is 8am.

How could I have slept for so long. Till the next day for that matter.

“Now I am sleeping like an old woman” I uttered and checked beside me but it’s empty.

That j.erk have disappeared to work again.

My stomach rumbled. I am really hungry. I got up and hurried to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I had my bath and left the room.

Thankfully, my breakfast was served already.

I sat down and dig in.

“Uhm…come over here” I signaled to the maid nearby and she walked over to me.

“What’s your name?” I asked.

“Nana, ma’am” she replied.

“Okay. Your boss, did he come home yesterday’s night?” I asked and she gave me a confused look.

“Are you going to answer me or continue staring at me” I snapped at her.

“I’m sorry. He did” she apologized and replied.

“What time did he?”

“Around 8pm” she answered and I nodded.

She had a confused look. I’m sure she is wondering why I’m asking when I am also in the house with her but I owe her no explanation.

“What time did he go out this morning?”

“Very early. 6:40am”

“He had breakfast?”

“He didn’t. He seem to be in an hurry”

“Oh okay. You can go” I said.

She was about leaving but my voice stopped her.

“Wait”

She looked at me questionably.

“Where did he sleep yesterday’s night?”

“Huh?” She arched a brow.

“I asked a question” I eyed her.

“I thought you guys share the same room” she said looking at me weirdly.

“You know what, just leave” I dismissed her and she nodded and left.

Why am I acting so weird and why am I so concerned about him?

He definitely slept beside me yesterday’s night but why didn’t he wake me up?
I waved it off and continued eating.

IN THE EVENING…

I was in the living room watching a Korean movie when I heard the front door open and someone enter.

I turned and it was Hayden. I stood up and walked up to him.

“Hey, you are back” I smiled and he looked at me weirdly.

“Freshen up and come down for dinner. I was waiting for you”

“Huh” He scrunched his brows.

“Don’t we usually have dinner together? Why acting surprised” I scoffed and went back to the couch and sat down.

Why am I even being nice to him?

He didn’t say anything but went upstairs.
He should just do whatever he want. I don’t care.

I continued watching the movie and when he came back, we had dinner together in silence and when done, he went to our room while I stayed back in the living room to continue watching the movie.

I went to the room when I was feeling sleepy and Hayden was on the bed already asleep.

I watched him sleep for a while observing his face. Realizing I’m acting like a freak right now, I went to my space and slept.

When I woke up the next morning, Hayden already went to work and this was how it continued.

For over two weeks now, Hayden and I hardly talk. We eat together, sleep together but don’t communicate.

He seem to be keeping his space from me and I don’t really care.

I have being busy preparing for my entrance exam to even care about Hayden ignoring me.

It is finally the day of the exam and I was really nervous. The exam is online and we would be given time to answer the questions.

I said a short prayer and started the exam. We were given 50 questions and 20 minutes to answer. Some of the questions seems weird and new while I was familiar with some.

I finished a minute before the time would elapse and clicked on submit.

I took a deep breath and almost immediately, Tiana call came in.

I picked up and she started screaming.

“Can you please not destroy my eardrums”

“I’m just too excited. The questions were so cheap”

“Wait, really?” I was surprised.

“Why asking me? We were given same questions”

“It wasn’t that simple. I had problem answering some” I said truthfully

“Coming from you, I’m surprised”

“I’m a bit scared”

“Don’t be. Don’t worry, we would get into Harvard for sure. I heard the admission list would be out in three days time. Their education system is very fast” Tiana said.

“I hope we get in”

“We will, believe” Tiana assured.

LATER THAT SAME NIGHT.

“How was the exam?” I was surprised when Hayden asked while in bed.

“I thought you are against it”

“You have made up your mind to go to Harvard. I can only support you” He said and I turned to look at him but he has an unreadable expression on.

“Are you serious right now” I asked flabbergasted.

“Yeah so back to my question”

“Oh the exam. It was okay, I guess. I did my best. Can only hope for the best”

“I’m sure you did great. Let me know when the admission list is out” he said and I nodded.

We looked at ourselves, the silence is making me nervous. I was glad when he broke it.

“Good night” He said and turned his back on me.

I’m still surprised he is actually supporting me now on going to Harvard. Or maybe he has a motive, I wondered.

I decided not to think about it and went to bed.

SOME DAYS LATER…

I was seated on the bed watching a comedy skit online when Tiana’s call came in.

I picked and she started screaming. I groaned. Must Tiana scream anytime I pick up her call?!

“When you are done screaming, let me know” I utter rolling my eyes.

“Guess what?” She said with a high pitched voice.

“You got a boyfriend?”

“Argh, No. guess again”

“You ate your dog’s good?”

“What? No, we don’t even have a dog”

“You told me to guess” I shrugged.

“Well, I have been offered admission” she said and screamed again.

I jumped off the bed. “Are you serious?”

“Of course. I checked the portal today and saw it. God, am so happy.”

“Wow. Congratulations”

“What about you?”

“Uhm, I haven’t checked” I replied.

“Argh, check already. Call me back to tell me the good news”

“How come you are so sure I was given admission too?”

“Cause I know you will. Now check”

“Okay ma’am” I said and ended the call.

My heart was beating rapidly. I held my phone but my hands were also shaking.

I closed my eyes and opened them back and checked the portal and then clicked on admission status.

It started loading and I closed my eyes.

I opened them back and saw it have being updated. I read the message.

SORRY BUT YOU DIDN’T MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR OUR SCHOOL. TRY AGAIN NEXT SECTION.

The phone fell off my hand and I went numb immediately.
