To say i am shock is an understatement because i am more than shocked.
I was surprised when i came home only to see Bryan and the twin at the door looking into the living room like m©rons.
My plan was to go to the door am yell at them so they can go inside but what i saw made me stop in my track.
In just two days of Ashley’s arrival to my house everything changed.
I can’t believe Chloe is now talking not just to anyone but to a total stranger.
My son Bryan has spent lots of money calling different therapist from different part of the word paying them large some of money but yet nothing happened.
And that makes me wonder what type of lady Ashley is that in few days such light has shone at my family.
Sometime money isn’t everything that matter because i can remember when i was a young lady just to come out of poverty i was willing to do anything Morgan my late husband wanted.
But at the end of the day when he got tired of me he through me out like i meant nothing to him and went for more pretty lady.
This is one thing i hid from my children and i never regretted doing so because at least it made them love there father.
Morgan my late husband wouldn’t have married me if not that he found out i was preg.nant for his first child Bryan.
But i always cover everything up with a big smile but deep down inside me i am a broken woman.
And it hurts me more that when he finally found me okay to be called his wife death came knocking at his door.
And that was the same line of life Bryan choose to live and it ended up taking kates life and making Chloe dumb.
Ashley is the type of lady i would like to call my daughter in-law but what can i do.
We have gone pass the era when parents make choices of wife and husbands for there children.
Bryan has made his choice and no matter the type of choice he has made bad or good all i can do as a mother is give him little motherly advice and if he insist i give him my full support.
“Mommy Rita you said you wanted to discuss something with me?”
Ashley’s voice brought me back to reality.
“Yes my dear i would have loved to pay you back with something more tangible but i am still in shock.”
“Come on mommy what other tangible things is more better than giving me a roof over my head and food to eat.”
“No that’s not enough dear name your price anything you want be it money a house or a car i will do it for you.”
I asked looking at her very closely but she only gave me a small smile.
“You see mommy Rita i wasn’t trained to be greedy i was trained by a good teacher and mother and that’s my nanny.
And if there is something she thought me that i like its to giving without expecting anything in return.
I love your home mommy Rita especially Chloe she’s a cute angle and although she’s not my daughter or sister i have this love for her and she loves me too.
How do you think she will feel if she finds out i took money for the love i gave her, i don’t want any money nor house or car but if you insist on helping me with something i just have one request.”
She said sitting on the kitchen counter.
“Go ahead and make your request love anything at all i will do it.”
I replied.
“I want you to help me secure a good job were i can work and get paid I am more than okay with that.”
She said living me in shock.
I was expecting her to make a more tangible request and this is what she has to say huh?
“Ashley why are you so different from other girls?”
I asked .
“I am not different in anyway mommy Rita i have only accepted who i am and the background i come from.
I believe that there is a pride a lady gets when she becomes successful on her own and that is the type of pride i want.”
She replied.

I sighed softly.
“If that is your only wish then i will have to grant you that.
Since you are so good in computers i will discuss with my son to give you a job in his company maybe as his personal assistant.”
I replied and her eyes lit up.
“Wow thanks so much mommy Rita i really appreciate.”
“You don’t need to thank me Ashley from now on see me as your aunt i would have loved to say mother but no one can be a mother figure to you more than you nanny.
From now on call be aunt Rita and make my house your home.”
I said and she smiled out tears.
She was about saying something when someone came into the kitchen making me look at the door.
“Good evening aunt Rita what’s that aroma am perceiving.”
Damon my son’s best friend asked with his eyes fixed on Ashley and i chuckled.
“Did you see the height of your stupidity dude is that were the aroma you are perceiving is coming from huh?”
Bryan asked in a mocking toon.
And his face flashed red in embrarrasment and i nearly bursted into laughter.
Those two kids knows how to embarrasse themselves since childhood and that’s why they are still friends till date.
I decided to live them in the kitchen because staying here won’t do me any good .
I left them in the kitchen and went to the living room to have a little chat with my granddaughter Chloe.
She may not even know that tomorrow is her birthday.
