UNEXPECTED KNOT : CHAPTER 71 – 80

Mr Everest came into his bedroom and met his wife frowning, he knew it would be about Adelaide so he didn’t bother to ask her what was wrong and just lay down.
“So you are not gonna ask me anything?” She asked.
“I don’t even know what is in your mind,” he said. He was really tired and needed to sleep.
“That girl, she is a sl*Everyone knows her in the club she was working before, she was the mastermind of what happened to Noah ” she said and waited for his reaction.
“Theresa, I know you don’t like her for some reason because I am very sure she hasn’t offended you in any way, but accusing her of this is so bad of you,” Mr Everest said. He was disappointed in his wife.
“ I really mean it, that girl was known all over the club, there is proof you can check for yourself” Mrs Everest said and brought some photos.
“I can’t just believe what is in the photo, though I didn’t know the girl before, but with the little I see, I can proudly say she is not someone like that,” Mr Everest said.
“So you don’t even believe me,” Mrs Everest asked sadly.
“I can never do that when you are trying to tarnish the image of an innocent girl, so now I really want to ask you a question,” Mr Everest said.
“What is it?” She asked.
“Theresa, I just want to know what the girl have ever do to you, she is minding her business and all but all you always do is to make her look like a bad person” Mr Everest said.
“She did nothing wrong, I just don’t trust her, let say I am looking out for Noah because he is like my son too” she said.
“Also know that Noah is not a baby, he knows everything that is going on and how to handle it so please, I don’t want something like this to ever happen again” Mr Everest said before lying on the bed. Soon he fell asleep. Mrs Everest was still sitting on the bed while glaring at her husband who was sleeping. Her plan to tarnish Adelaide’s image fails, she doesn’t even know why Mr Everest trusts Adelaide to that extent. She was about to lie down when her phone rang loudly. She gasps and quickly runs to the bathroom. She heard the call and was silent until a deep voice spoke.
“How are you a runaway bride?” The voice asked gently.
“Dennis” she called fearfully.
“Yeah it’s me, the man you abandoned with a son because you wanted to marry a rich man,” the man said, his voice becoming venomous.
“What do you want from me?” She asked with a shaking voice.
“Nothing much, I just want your whole family, and I will start from that old hag” the voice said and hung up.
“Dennis Dennis” she called but got no response, she paced around worriedly before going out of the bathroom. She met Mr Everest at the door.
“Are you okay, I was hearing your voice?” He asked.
“I am okay” she said and lay down on the bed. Mr Everest joined her and soon fell asleep but she was just turning around on the bed unable to sleep till daybreak.

“Dad, we are making cookies, come and join us in the kitchen” Emily said and dragged him up before he could say anything. Since it was Sunday, they were at home. They get to the kitchen and he joins Adelaide who was preparing the ingredients. Emily brings an apron for him and he looks at it like he hasn’t seen something like that in his whole life.
“You are going to wear it and then tie it around your waist” Adelaide said, he did as he was told but it was total rubbish. He groan frustratedly after trying for a long time.
“I can’t believe this dad,” Emily chuckled cutely. Adelaide collected the apron and went closer to his, their breath fanning each other’s face. She wears it for him and hugs him so that he can tie it. He was silent as she did everything.
“Done” she smiled and he walked closer to the table. She gave him the egg and he started whisking it though he wasn’t doing it well. Adelaide mixed all the ingredients as Emily measured them inside the big bowl, then added the egg and started mixing it until it was perfect. They started molding different shapes and stars on the baking tray, they are really having a lot of fun. After that, the cookies were put inside the oven to bake.
Emily was the first to pack from the flour that was remaining then she poured it at her father, he smiled as his face became white because of the flour. He also packed flour and wanted to pour it at her but she went behind Adelaide so the flour poured on Adelaide instead. Her body was white and she gasped in shock. They both stood at a spot while looking at each other.
“Wrong person” Emily said and Adelaide went to pack flour, she also poured on Noah, then it became a flour competition as they started pursuing each other around the kitchen. The three of them look white because of the flour that was all over their body and hair. They didn’t stop until they used all the flour.
Adelaide gasps in shock while seeing the mess they have made in the kitchen. Everywhere it was full of flour, she quickly went to bring out the cookies from the oven because it was done already.
“Can I have a taste?” Emily asked while looking at the chocolate cookies.
“That will be after you take your bath” Adelaide said and Emily ran straight to her room. Adelaide walks closer to Noah and removes the nylon that is in his hair. They both stare at each other nervously.
“ I will be in the bathroom” he said and left. Adelaide smiles happily while looking at their mess, they look so happy and forget all their problems. She started cleaning the kitchen immediately, she plans to bathe after that.

“Delaney” Autumn called while running toward her, she rolled her eyes but still waited for her.
“Do you want some?” Autumn asked while pointing to the plate of cookies she was carrying to her, it was given to her by Adelaide. Delaney glared at the cookies before saying no.
“Why did you call me?” She asked.
“A fashion company actually called me. They want us to model as twin sisters for their new clothes. I am so excited. I have been wishing to model with you and the day has finally come. Autumn said excitedly while looking at the email.
“I am not interested, “ Delaney said plainly before leaving. Autumn pouted sadly before going to the Fransisco room, she hasn’t seen him since they parted yesterday. She knocked and he opened, she entered the room and sat on his bed. He has a frown on his face.
“What happened?” She asked as he sat beside her.
“I’m just not used to being at home,” he said.
“You should be happy, today’s the last day” she said and pointed the cookies at him. He has a bite and a smile.
“It’s from my sister right?” He asked.
“Yeah, how did you know? She asked in surprise.
“I know what her cookies taste like,” he said.
“That’s cool, let’s find something to do, since we are both grounded and can’t go out, let’s have fun together,” Autumn said.
“Can you play PS4 games?” He asked while holding the controller.
“Yeah, so get ready to lose to me” she said and the game was set. They started playing. Autumn was winning, which made her really happy.
“So you that, I am your boss” she said and picked a cookie from the plate.
“Do you actually believe you are winning me?” he asked with a smirk.
“Of course , yes” she said .
“Then watch” he said and started playing, a few minutes later Autumn was pouting sadly as she dropped the game controller on the bed.
“What happened to the cat?” Francisco asked.
“You are so heartless” she scoffed and looked away from him.
“Okay, now I will let you win,” he said.
“That wouldn’t make me feel better because I will know you are losing on purpose” she said and wanted to carry a cookie but the plate was empty. Francisco was about to put the last one in his mouth when he quickly snatched it from him.
“Give me back the cookie” Francisco said and try to collect it from her, she was about to run but he grab her and climb on top of them. He tried to collect it but she was proofing stubbornness. He started leaning closer to her, their lip almost touch. Autumn was in shock as they stare at each other, he was leaning closer and she was about to close her eyes when he suddenly snatch the cookie from her, he bite half of it and put the remaining one in her mouth then he started laughing because she was still looking loss.
“Do you think I wanted to kiss you Cat?” He asked and she blushed because she was embarrassed.
“Now you are red like a tomato” he chuckled.
“Get off” she snapped and pushed him off then she ran out of the room.
“What a cute Cat” Francisco said and chuckled. As Autumn goes to her room, she can hear her loud heartbeat as the scenes replay in her head.
“Put yourself together” she said and slapped her cheeks.

Noah and Adelaide were watching movies with Emily between them, they will pick a cookie and eat with the drink beside them. Adelaide and Noah pick at the same time which makes their hand brushed, they stare at each other before focusing back on the movie.
“This is the best cookie I have ever tasted,thank you so much,” Emily said.
“I can make it for you everyday, if you want” Adelaide smiles and strokes her hair. They watched till the movie finished.
Noah went to the bathroom to take his bath but he has been troubled today and he can’t wait to find out the truth and he really wishes he can know the whole truth of what happened already. He brought out his phone and called his investigator.
“Hello sir” the person answered from the other side.
“Have you found anything yet?” He asked curiously, praying for positive news.
“I have speak with almost all the workers at the club, but none of them is ready to say anything, I actually hear there was a girl that was close to her, she stop working their after Adelaide left, they don’t want to disclose her info, but I will soon find her and then we will get some information from her” the investigator said. Noah sight and hang up then he called the second investigator.
“I haven’t been able to get anything yet, but I believe I will soon,” he said. Noah signs before going out of the bathroom. He didn’t see Adelaide because she went to return the cookie plate but she soon joined them on the bed.

“I really like the way things are” Emily suddenly said after some moments of silence and they both looked at her.
“I love how she started living with us, she always makes me happy and makes me feel good,” she said again.
“I will continue to do that because you are so important to me “ Adelaide said and stroked her hair.
“I want you both to assure me that you wouldn’t fight again or do anything that will make you leave each other “ she said and they looked at her in surprise.
“Emily….why are saying this?” Noah asked.
“Please tell me you won’t fight or leave each other again, I don’t want to lose any of you” she said again.
“Okay okay, we won’t fight again, and we won’t leave each other no matter the circumstances, we will always stick together, the three of us” Noah said. Emily looked at Adelaide and she also nodded in agreement.
“Thank you so much, I am so happy “ Emily smiled and hugged them both.
