UNTIL I MET YOU : CHAPTER 251 – 260
BY GODDY FRANCIS
My head slams against the dashboard again as the car crashes into the water. Gray is bleeding terribly, and he’s already passing out.
Pain shoots through my head and stomach, but I push back Gray’s seat and touch his neck, searching for a pulse. He’s struggling to keep his eyes open.
“Gray,” I weep, frantically looking for my phone.
His right hand clutches his bleeding stomach as his eyes roll back into his head.
“Please stay with me,” I whimper, pressing down on his wound to stop the bleeding.
He gives me a faint smile, leaning back against the seat as he fights to stay conscious. I glance out the window—water is already rising around us.
“Oh God.” I scroll through my contacts and tap on Alexa’s number.
I press the phone against my ear, but she’s not picking up. My hands shake as I glance at Gray—his condition is worsening. I can’t lose him. I don’t want to lose him. Not now. Not ever.
I make a desperate decision and call the one person who might help.
“Dad…”
“Ariel? What happened? You sound scared.”
Tears blur my vision as I sniffle.
“We had an accident. The car is sinking, and Gray is dying. Please, I don’t want to lose him!”
“Hold on. Where are you?”
“We fell off the bridge.”
“Shit.” I hear rustling sounds through the phone—he’s searching for something.
“Hold on, I’m coming. Just try to stay alive, okay? And keep Gray from bleeding too much.”
The call ends. My hands tremble as I turn back to Gray—he’s unconscious.
“Gray!” I tap his cheek, my voice breaking into sobs. “Please open your eyes.”
His eyelids flutter, but his eyes roll back again. The water is rising fast. I grab my phone again, dialing for help.
“911, what’s your emergency?” a female voice asks.
I explain everything, giving them our location. My heart pounds as I look out the window—all I see is water, and it’s already seeping into the car.
I turn back to Gray. He’s completely passed out.
Blood trickles down my forehead, but I don’t care. All that matters is him.
I touch his wrist—his skin is cold.

Reid sits on the edge of the bed, watching me eat. He’s been surprisingly nice since I got shot, though he still finds it hard to admit he cares.
“You look cute,” I say, stuffing a spoonful of chicken soup into my mouth.
He raises one pierced eyebrow and huffs.
“Will you just eat?” he grumbles.
“I’m just saying you look good. All you gotta do is say, ‘Thank you, Alexa.’ But no, you’re just being grumpy, and it doesn’t suit you.”
He rolls his eyes. “Hurry up. I need to check the bandage on your leg.”
“I’m still waiting for you to admit you care about me. That you want me.”
“Fucking bitch,” he mutters, scoffing.
I giggle—taunting him is kind of fun.
“Where’s your friend?” I ask.
“He went out with your cousin. You know that. I’d appreciate it if you shut up.”
I laugh, shaking my head. “Can you pass me my phone? It’s been on silent too long.”
He sighs, grabs it from the dresser, and hands it to me.
I check my screen—there’s a missed call from Ariel. My stomach tightens. I dial her number and press the phone to my ear.
She doesn’t pick up.
Probably having fun with Gray.
I call again.
Still no answer.
That’s weird.
