Alexander began to suspect Nora’s behavior and wonder what was wrong with her, he kept trying to convince her to tell him what was wrong, but she said she was fine and not to worry.

•Alexander office ••
Aurora was working on her desk when Nina came over and sat down.
“Hey”. Aurora said. ” Any news yet?”.
“Yeah, He sent me this photo of Charles and Nora coming out from the hospital”. She said as she gave her the phone, Aurora glanced through it.
” Why were they at the hospital?”. Aurora asked confusedly.
“I asked him and he said he doesn’t know, he even tried to get information about the two of them from the nurse on duty, but she refused”. Nina explained.
” Something is definitely fishy in here”. She sighed and then Alex walked in on a phone with his mother and they stopped what they were doing, they greeted him and he left for his office.
“See you later at the canteen”. Nina said and walked away.
📞 ” Why are you having a masquerade party, Mother?”.
📞”Is not for me son, is for the family, is the tradition for the family to organize it every twenty years, the last time we had it, you were just little and it is time to have another one “. She said on the other end of the phone.
📞” When is the occasion?”.
📞”In a week, get yourself ready”.
📞”Sure”. He hung up and sighed.
“Is everything okay?”. Aurora asked as she entered the office with a warm coffee.
” Yes, everything is fine”. he sipped from the coffee and placed the rest on his desk.”What is my schedule for today?”.
“Nothing much, just a dinner with some of our investors in a West restaurant by three pm”.
” Okay”.
“If there is nothing else you need, I will head back to my office”. She turned to leave and Alex called her back.
” Don’t go yet”. he said.
“Is there anything else?”.
” No, sit down,”.he said smiling and Aurora sat down facing him.
“Why do you want me to sit?”.
” Because I want you to keep me company”. He said and Aurora smiled.”Your presence here keeps my spirit lifted, to get more energy to work”. He added.
“But I am bored sitting down here and not doing anything”.
” So, do you want to sit on my lap?”. he asked teasing and Aurora scoffed.
“Yeah right”.
” It will be more fun”. They chuckled.
“Don’t worry, I will sit here and watch over you”.
” I will love that”. They smiled at each other and he continued what he was doing.
Meanwhile, Nina was in his office typing on her laptop when Nathan came over.
“Hey beautiful”. he called and Nina raised her face to him.
” Hey, you”.
“How is it going?”. He asked smiling.
” Great, yours?”.
“Nothing much, so, are you still available for the movie night this weekend?”.
” Yeah, sure”.
“That’s good, I just want to know, see you around”. he walked away and Nina continued with what she was doing.
” Aw! are you two a thing?”. kessy interrupted and Nina stopped what she was doing and turned to her.
“How do you mean?”.
” I am talking about the new guy, I saw him leaving your office, is he courting you?”.
“No, he just asked me out”.
” Really? he did?”.
“Yes, is just a movie night”.
” Aw! That’s so cute, I think he is into you”. Kessy said.
“Really? You think so?”.
” I know so”.
“Hmm”. Nina said and continued with what she was doing while Kessy left for her office.
Back at the office, Aurora was staring lovingly at Alex as he was busy at his desk, and then the thought of Nora and Charles came to her mind.
” Um, Alex”. she called.
“mm”. Alex answered still focused on his work.
” I want to ask you something, Do you remember what happened between you and Nora that night?”. She asked and Alex stopped what he was doing as the words struck him.”Do you have any idea on how it happened?”.
“No, I tried so hard to remember, nothing, the only thing I can remember is the time we were drinking together after having dinner”. He sighed.” But why do you ask?”.
“Nothing, I just want to know”.She said and Alex stared at her.
” Are you worried about it?”.
“No, is nothing really”.
” If I were in my right sense, I would never lay with her”.
“Why? Doesn’t she feel attractive enough?”. She teases.
” Not attractive as you are”. he smiled.
“Hmm, but I heard you are the lady’s man, you always get down with every attractive lady that crosses your path”.
” Yeah, you are right, but that was the old Alex”.
“What changes?”.
” You”. he said smiling.
“Me?”.
” Yes, that night you hit your tricycle with my car, that night changed everything about me the moment I set my eyes on you”. He said and Aurora blushed. “I wanted you to be mine, but when I heard you have a boyfriend, I was jealous”.
” You were?”.
“Yes, but when I heard of his bargain with the old men at the clubhouse that day to lay with you, I noticed he is not worth your love, so I did everything possible to have you close to me”. He said and stood up to sit next to her holding her hands firmly.” That day you came with the rest of your colleagues to tidy up my house and you broke my vessel, actually, the vessel was not that expensive, I just used it as an excuse to get you closer to me”.
“Geez! You are so cunning”.
” I am glad I finally won you for myself, I don’t regret the moment I shared with you” He caressed her face.
“Me too Alex”. They smiled at each other as they leaned their face closer and kissed.

Nora was in her room relaxing and her cell phone was vibrating to not stop, she noticed the caller ID and she kept ignoring them, and then a message came in.
💬” If you don’t pick up my call, I will come to the house and find you”. Charles texted and she sighed, then the call came in, and she picked up.
📞”What do you want? Can’t you just leave me alone”. She said unlikely on the phone.
📞”What is wrong with you? Why have you been avoiding my calls?”.
📞”That’s because I don’t want to talk to you”.
📞”Why? Did I do something wrong?”.
📞”Listen, Charles, I just want to be left alone”.
📞”Come on Nora, don’t do this to me, I know what happened to our baby wasn’t your fault, we can still fix things, please Nora, don’t ignore me like this, don’t forget our plans, we still need to achieve our aim”. He said and Nora sighed.
📞”Fine!”.
📞”That’s my girl”. They chuckle on the phone. “Have you been taking your medication?”.
📞” Yes”.
📞”Does he suspect anything?”.
📞”No, but he kept asking me if I was alright, and told him yes”.
📞”Good, don’t tell him, and make sure no one finds out about the pregnancy”.
📞”I won’t”.
📞”Good, so, when are we seeing each other?”.
📞” I guess soon”. She smiles.
📞”I just can’t wait, I love you”.
📞”Love you more”. she smiled and then hung up.

During the weekend, Nina and Nathan came to the cinema to watch movies, they were seated in the theater room watching while having their popcorn and a can of juice.
“Do you like the movie?”. Nathan asked.
” Yes, romance movie is my thing”. She replied.
“That’s great, me too”. he said and they continued watching.
An hour later, they were done watching, Nathan excused himself to the restroom while Nina stayed outside to wait for him, Just then Her eyes caught sight of Richard holding hands with an elegant lady, she wondered who the lady was as jealousy overwhelmed her. Richard was coming in her direction with the girl and they met eyes to eyes.
” Nina?”. Richard called surprisedly and Nina smiled forcedly at him.
“Hi, Richard”. she replied.
” What are you doing out here? You came to watch a movie too?”.
“um–“. She got interrupted as Nathan came over.
” Sorry I kept you waiting”. Nathan said. “Shall we?”.
” Yeah, bye Richard”. She waved at him and left with Nathan. Richard stares after them.
👩🦰”Who is she?”.
“A friend, let’s go”. he said, and they walked away
Along the walkway, Nina was lost in thought.
” Who was that lady with him? his girlfriend? no, no, I don’t think so, or did he lie, he said he doesn’t have a girlfriend, but why was he so friendly with the lady with him like they were kind of a couple”. She sighed at her thoughts.
“Are you okay?”. Nathan asked.
” Yes”. She smiled forcedly at him.
