It was the weekend and of course a beautiful Sunday morning, Alex and I decided to go for a picnic, it was a beautiful moment to behold as we made merry and had a lot of fun, I have never been this excited in life being with someone I love. Being with Alex eased my pain and problems and I never want this moment to end between us.
“Wow, is so good to be out here”. He said staring at the sky and I smiled at him.
” Are you having fun?”.
“Yes, I don’t want this moment to ever end between us,”.he said and turned his gaze at me.
” Me too”. we smiled at each other.
“I love you Aurora”.
” I love you too”.
“Can you promise me something?”.
” What?”.
“Promise me you will always stick with me and never leave my side”. he said with sincerity in his eyes.
I smiled.” I promise”.
“Let seal it with a kiss then”.
” Sure”. I said and we kissed.
“Hmm, your lips taste like strawberries”.
” That’s because I just ate some”.
“Can I have more taste?”.
” Sure, is here on the plate”. I said and he rolled his head.
“No, I want to taste the one on your lips”. he said I blushed.
I look around nervously to see a few people around.
” Alex, there are people here”.
“I don’t care” He crawled towards me and cupped my face. “I only see you here and no one else”.
He moved his mouth to mine and kissed me. sending his heated breaths directly into my mouth. The initial touch was soft and slow, and then he kissed me harder, his lips moving against mine with restrained intensity. I lay down on the carpet grass as he lay on me and started caressing my body while kissing me hard, I was losing control of myself and I had to stop quickly before it became more intense.
” Alex, we should stop, we are at the park”. I said as he was still laying on my body with his eyes on mine.
“I can’t get enough of you, I get hard each time I am close to you, right now I am dying to have you”.
” But we can’t do it here”.
“Do you want to spend a night at my place today?”.
” Um, no, I thought Nora was staying with you, I don’t want to cause a problem”. I said.
“She left to see her parents for the weekend, she won’t be back till tomorrow evening”. He said and I sighed.
” But I still don’t think that will be possible, let’s wait till everything is over”. I said and stood up from my body as we sat down facing each other.” in as much as you want me, I also feel that way too”. I caressed his face.
“Can I ask you something”.
” Sure”.
“If I ask you to marry me today, will you?”. he asked and I was struck by his words.
” huh?”.
“Yes, Aurora, I just want to call you mine, we can get our marriage certificate done today”.
” No Alex, we can’t, what about your mother? What will they say? And what about Nora and the baby?”.
“I don’t care, if I want to spend my life with anyone it has to be you, Aurora”.
I sighed and cupped his face. “I know you are not thinking straight right now, do you know what you are saying?”.
” I am in my right sense Aurora, this is to show how much I truly love you”.
“I love you too, but we can’t ignore the problems around us just for our own happiness, there is more to this, I am not going anywhere, Alex, I will wait for all these problems to be over and then we can be together”.
” Do you promise?”. he held my hands tightly.
“I promise, I will never leave your side, you are the only man I want to spend the rest of my life with because I love you so much”. I smiled.
” I will always be here”.
We hugged each other warmly and I heard him sniff.

The next day, at the canteen, I was lost in thought of what Alex proposed at our picnic, and then Nina jolted me out.
“What’s wrong?”. she asked and I sighed.
” Alex proposed to me yesterday at a picnic”. I said and she gasped.
“What! he did?”.
” Yes, but I rejected it”
“Why?”.
” He wanted us to get married yesterday and have our marriage registered secretly, but I don’t want that”.
“Oh no, he is damn obsessed with you, you can’t blame him, his heart yawns for you”.
” At the point he said it, I was shocked for a while, and then I wanted to say yes and get married to him quickly, but..”. I sighed sadly. ” I wish the whole world could accept our relationship”.
“It will one day”.
” I don’t know how it happened, but I am scared to lose him”. I felt tears fill my eyes.
“I understand Aurora, but is going to be fine”. Nina said as she caressed my hand.

NARRATOR POV
Alex and Richard came to the bar to chill out. They were seated at the bar drinking some cocktails.
” You proposed marriage to her?”. Richard asked surprisedly. “Were you joking or what?”.
” I wasn’t, I was serious”. He gulped his drink and ordered for another one.
“Man! You are damn serious with her, and I am super proud of you, but what was her reply?”.
” She was surprised at first, but I know she was scared of the problem that was going on”.
“Yeah, I guess so too”. he sighed. ” Sometimes I wonder why love is so unfair with some of us, for the first time in your life of falling deeply in love with someone, you were deprived of it all because of one silly tradition”. He said.
“I am obsessed with her, I just want her by my side and I want her to be mine alone”. He gulped his drink.
” Don’t get too drunk”. he said and then his eyes caught sight of a familiar figure walking into the bar with a lady as his hand encircled the lady’s waist, he watched them as they left to sit down and call the waiter. “Him?”. he said and Alex stared at him.
” What’s wrong?”. he asked.
“Turn around and look at the guy with the lady in the blue dress”. he said and Alex turned to them to see is one of his newest staff.
” What about him?”.
“Does he work in your company?”.
” Yes, he works in the sales department, why do you ask? Is there a problem?”.
“Not really, I saw him flirting with Nina and now he is here having fun with another in a bar”. Richard said.
” Him?”.
“Yes, and he is flirting with another woman”. he said unfriendly.” He and Nina went out on a movie night two days ago.
“Are you kidding me?”.
” I am serious”. he said and saw him stand up. “I need to find out something”. he stood up to go after him.
” Where are you going?”.
“I will be right back”. He left and came to the restroom pretending to urinate.
Nathan was done using the toilet and moved to the mirror to watch his hands, then his cell phone rang, and he saw the caller ID and picked it up.
📞” Hey bro, what’s up?”. he asked smiling on the phone.”Am good, I am somewhere chilling with my girl”. he said and laughed.”You know me too well,”. There was a pause and he laughed.”Yeah, you are right, about the lady I told you about that is in the same department as me, well, she is too perfect and very naive”. There was a pause. “Just as usual, I just need to get her to fall for me and when I have my way with her, I will dump her”. He laughed and his phone beeped, he checked to see who was calling.”Talk to you later man, my wife is calling”. he hung up and dialed the number, it rang for a while before it was picked up.”Hello honey” There was a pause.”I will be home late, my boss gave us a lot of work at the office, I will be home by midnight, kiss the kids for me, I love you”. He hung up and sighed before leaving the restroom.
“What a moron, you are done for it “. He said and left to meet Alex, then he saw Nathan leaving with a lady he brought.
” What took you so long?”.
“Is that guy married?”.
” No, it wasn’t written on his files”. Alex said.
“What? Are you serious?”.
“Yes, did something happen?”.He asked and Richard gulped his drink angrily.

The next morning, Alex invited Nathan to his office for questioning.
” Why did you lie?”.Alex asked.
“Am sorry sir”. Nathan plead.
” You are sorry? How dare you lie to my face, don’t you know the policy of this company”. he yelled angrily.
“Please sir, forgive me”. he knelt down pleading. ” please give me a second chance”.
“You don’t deserve to work here, you even have the nerve to flirt with one of my staff, knowing full well that you are married with kids”. He sighed angrily.” Now tell me, what is your motive here?”.
“Nothing sire”.
” Where you sent here to spy on my company?”.
“Not at all sir”.
” Now listen, you just have thirty minutes to take your belongings and leave my company otherwise, you will see the worst of me, now flee!”. He threatened and Nathan ran off.”Moron!”.
Everyone downstairs was surprised about what Nathan did and they began to murmur as they saw him leaving the company with his belongings.
🧕”Serve him right, do you know he was making advances at me”.
👩💼”Me too”.
“How cruel of him”. Nina said.
” Did he tell you he was married with kids?”.Kessy asked.
“Nope, we never gone that far”. Nina replied.
” I can’t believe he was flirting with all the ladies in this company”. Kessy said.
“Well, he deserves what he has gotten”. Nina said and they sighed.
