AURORA POV
With so much excitement in my heart, I walked into the house and I perceived a sweet aroma coming from the kitchen, I wondered who was cooking, I guess it must be his house help. I walked to the kitchen, and to my greatest surprise, I saw a familiar figure cooking in the kitchen and the foodstuff that I was holding fell off and she turned to me smiling.
“Hello”. She said smiling while stirring the food on the fire.
” What are you doing here?”.I sputtered confusedly and she smirked.
“Is that a question or what?”.
” Is a question, so answer it, why are you here? Did Alex invite you here?”. I asked curiously.
“Why don’t you take a guess”. She giggles and I stare hard at her. ” What are you doing here?”.
“You–” I got interrupted from behind.
“Aurora?”. Alex called and I turned to him. he walked closer to the kitchen and I could see the surprisedly look on his face when he saw her.” Elizabeth?”.
“Hey Alex, you are back?”. She said smiling.
” What are you doing here?”.
“Well, as you can see, I am here to see you and I am preparing dinner for the both of us”.
” How do you know where I live?”.
“I had to beg Richard for your home address and he gave it to me”.
” Listen Elizabeth, I know we are good friends, but you can’t come to my house without my consent and let alone use my kitchen, where is Lisa?”.
“Oh, about her, I asked her to take a day off”. She said and I scoff.
” You really do have the gust, do you?”.I said rudely.
“Excuse me, are you referring to me?”.
” Yes, or is there another dimwit here”. I said and I could see the anger in her eyes.
“How dare you! Who the hell do you think you are?”. She yelled angrily.
” Elizabeth, that’s enough, I think you should leave”.Alex said.
“Leave? Why should I? This lowlife here is that one to leave, she is just a common Secretary to you”.
” That’s enough! I won’t let you use such words on my wife”. Alex said and I could see the shock on her face.
“Y-your wife?”. She sputtered.
” Yes! You heard him, am his wife”. I said and showed her my ring. “You have overstayed your welcome, you should leave”. I pulled a little closer to her.” I know what your intentions are towards my husband, but let me warn you, you should stay clear away from him, I don’t like sharing my man with someone else”. I said in a whisper in her ear.
“I can’t believe this”. She stared hard at me for a while and ran off.
” Come get your food!”. I yelled for her to hear and turn off the gas. I sighed and turned to see Alex smiling at me.
“What did you tell her?”.
” Nothing”. I rushed to his arms.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?”. He asked and we pulled away from each other.
” I wanted to surprise you with a meal, but unfortunately, I saw her here”.
“I am glad you came”.
” Oh really, if I hadn’t come, you would have eaten her meal”. I frowned.
“Of course not, I will never do that, I will surely send her away, she didn’t know we were married”.
” Yeah, and she was trying to make advances at you”.
“I don’t think she will come close to me now that she knows you are my wife”. he said and he caressed me into his arms.” I love you so much”.
“I love you too”. We pulled away from each other and kissed softly. ” Let me prepare something for us to eat”. I said breaking out from the kiss.
“That can wait”. He said and carried me up to his shoulder.
” Alex, what are you doing? Put me down”.
“No, I am hungry for you”. he said heading to the bedroom.
” Are you kidding me right now”.
“No, I missed my wife and I caving for your touch”. he said.

Elizabeth locked herself in the room whining in pain and she felt heartbroken.
” So, it’s true, She is Alex’s wife, how did this happen?”. She grunted and stood up quickly.”No, this can’t be, it won’t end like this, I will do everything possible to have my man back, I won’t let her win”. She said staring at her reflection in the mirror.

Later at midnight, Aurora and Alex were cuddled in each other arms sleeping. Aurora was having a nightmare of what Nora was saying to her at the psychiatrist’s home, she was tossing around and then she jerked up panting.
“Aurora”. Alex called as he turned on the light to see the panicked look on her face.” Are you ok? Is something wrong?”.
“I just had a nightmare”. She said as she cuddled in his arms and Alex patted her hair.
” Is ok, is just a nightmare, we should go back to sleep”. he said and they lay back. he turns off the light and cuddles her warmly in his arms.

The next morning, both were having their breakfast and Aurora told Alex about her visit to Nora.
“I went there with Nina to see her”. She said and Alex sighed.
” Why didn’t you dim fit to tell me before going to see her, what if she had hurt you”.
“Am sorry I didn’t tell you, my mind kept telling me to go and see her “.
” Did she say anything to you? Did she try to hurt you?”.
“No, she didn’t, she was just saying something weird and it was the nightmare I had last night”.
” What did she say?”.
“Saying someone is evil, and the person will come for me and she won’t rest until she gets what she wants”.
” Who was she referring to?”.
“I had no idea, it has been in my head since yesterday”.
” You should stop thinking about it, don’t let it get to you, we all know she is insane, so it is normal for her to say silly things”.
“I kinda sense somethings in what she was saying”.
” How do you mean?”.
“What if she was right, what if someone did that to her and killed Charles just to frame her”. Aurora said.
” And you believe that? Why would anyone wanna kill Charles and frame Nora for it”.
“I don’t know”.
” Don’t jump to a conclusion yet, I can’t say either that she killed Charles, but what can we do, all evidence is pointing at her”. He said and sipped from his coffee.”Don’t ever go to her again, is too dangerous”. he warned and Aurora nodded.
“I won’t”. They continue eating.

A week later, Aurora was resting his head on her desk when Nina entered, she knocked on her desk several and Aurora raised her face to her looking moody.
” Why are you sleeping on duty? Is Alex not around?”. She asked.
“No, he left a while ago for a business meeting”. She replied weakly.
” What is wrong with you? You look dozy, are you sick?”.
“I don’t know, I am just feeling tired”. She said and Nina felt her forehead and her neck.
” You are running a low body temperature, shouldn’t you go and see the doctor? Remember, the dinner at Alex’s mother’s place today, you can’t go looking like this”.
“Is this obvious?”.
” Yes, you should go see a doctor, you still have about ten hours left for dinner”.
“OK, I will go after I round up”.
” No, you have to start going now, I will cover for you, and I won’t tell Alex you are going to the hospital”. Nina said.
“Ok,”. She stood up with her bag to leave.
” Call me when you get there”.
“I will”. She walked away and Nina followed her behind.

Aurora was seated in the doctor’s office waiting for him, not too long after, doctor Michael came over.
” Am sorry for keeping you waiting Ms.Aurora”.He said.
“Is ok, doc. Is Doctor Luke not around?”.
” No, he went on an emergency trip, but he will be back soon, but do you want to wait till he comes back?”.
“No, is fine”.
“OK, so how can help you?”.
“Actually, I need to run some tests, I have been feeling tiredly lately and sometimes run body temperature”. She said.
“OK, that won’t be a problem, I will direct you to a nurse who will take your blood sample and get a test done to see what is wrong with you”.
” Ok, doctor”.
“Give me a second.” He dials a number on the telephone. 📞”Come to my office”. He hung up. Soon after, a nurse knocked and entered.
👩⚕️” You sent for me”.
“Yes, take this lady to the laboratory and run some tests on her “. he said and turned to Aurora.” You can follow her Ms”.
“Ok, thank you very much”. She stood up and left with the nurse.
