NARRATOR POV
Richard brought Nina to his house and carried her to his room. he lay her down gently on the bed and covered her with the blanket.
“You are going to be fine, ok?”. He kissed her forehead and Nina opened her eyes weakly.” Nina, can you hear me?”.
” Richard?”. She called weakly.
“Am right here Nina”. He said caressing her hand. Just then she felt like throwing up, she rushed to the bathroom and Richard was surprised. “Nina”.He moves to the door calling out her name. ” Nina, are you ok?”. he asked tensely. After a while, Nina came out after flushing the toilet.”Are you ok?”.He asked seeing how weak she looked, just then she collapsed in his arms. “Nina!”. he panicked and carried her to the bed.
An hour later, Doctor Michael was examining her while Richard was behind looking tense.
” Well, she will be fine”. He said as he turned to him smiling.
“Are you sure? What is happening to her?”. Richard asked curiously.
” Is nothing to be afraid of….” he hesitated for a while.” she is pregnant”. He announced and Richard went still.
“W-what did you say?”. He sputtered confusedly.
” You heard me, she is two weeks gone”. He said and Richard was speechless as he couldn’t hide the joy he was feeling.
“Are you serious doctor?”. he asked excitedly.
” Yes, congratulations”.
“Yes!”. he hugs him quickly. “Thank you, thank you”. he pulled away from him and shook hands with him.” Thank you so much”.
“You are welcome when she wakes up prepare something for her to eat”.
” Sure, thank you”. he said and the doctor left. “Yes!!”. he jumped up excitedly and rushed to Nina. ” I love you, Nina”. he kissed her forehead and caressed her tummy.”This is the best news I have ever heard in my entire life”. He kissed her tummy and smiled at her.

At the hospital, Alex was fully awake as he refused to talk to anyone or even try to accept the food his mother was giving him.
“Please Alex, try and eat something”. Mrs.Stella said.
” Alex, my son, do you want to starve to death?”. Grandpa asked sadly.
“Alex, please eat, you have been starving for days”. Elizabeth said as he caressed his hand. Alex stared at her and withdrew his hand from hers. She was surprised.
” Please don’t touch me, Aurora doesn’t like it when she sees another woman touching me”.Alex said unlikely.
“Am sorry”. Elizabeth said nervously.
” Alex, please eat something, do you like seeing me like this?”. Mrs. Stella sobs.
“Son, for the sake of your mother, eat, she has not been feeding too well”. Grandpa said, But Alex ignored them and they sighed tiredly at him.

••Richard’s Mansion••
Richard was trying to feed Nina some food, but she refused to eat.
” Come on Nina, eat something, do you want to starve our baby?”. He asked and Nina turned to him surprisedly.
“O-our baby?”. She sputtered confusedly and Richard nodded as he took her hands tenderly.
” Doctor Michael was here to examine you after you passed out and he confirmed that you are pregnant”. She said and Nina gasped.
“W-w-what? Am pregnant?”. She asked surprisedly as tears filled her eyes.
” Yes Nina, you don’t know how excited I am to know you are carrying my child, I love you so much Nina and I promise to always be by your side forever”. He said sincerely and Nina sobs. “Come on, why are you crying?”. he wipes off her tears with his thumb.
” I don’t know if I should be happy or sad, Aurora would have been the happiest if she knew that I was pregnant, but right now, she is no more”. She whined and Richard pulled her into his arms.
“Is going to be fine, I know she is proud of you wherever she is right now ” He patted her hair as she kept sobbing. ” Is alright, everything will be fine”.
“I miss her so much”. she whines.

The next day, Richard came to visit Alex at the hospital, he saw him standing in front of the window staring out from it.
” Hey, bro, how are you doing?”. he asked and Alex turned to him with no expression on his face.
“Get me out of here Richard, I want to go home, Aurora is waiting for me”. He said and Richard sighed.
” Alex–“.
“Don’t!”. he cut him short.” I know what you are going to say, Richard, Aurora is not dead, I know of it and I can feel it”.
“I know Alex, don’t you think Aurora will be very angry with you if she finds out that you are starving yourself, she might give you a hard punishment as she did before”.
” She will?”.
“Trust me, she will”. He moved closer to him.” So, do you wanna grab lunch with me?”.
“Sure, but on one condition”.
” Name it”.
“That you will get me the hell out of this place”.
” I promise”. he smiled
“Good, let’s go”. They walk away to the nearest restaurant to eat.
Some hours later, Richard and the rest were present at the doctor’s office, except Alex who was taking a nap, because sleeping pills had been injected into him.
“Doctor, can you tell us, why my son is behaving like a crazy person”. Mrs. Stella asked.
” How do you mean?”.Doctor Luke asked.
“He is somehow doubtful about Aurora’s death, he just believes he is alive and she is right there with him”. She said.
” Your son is perfect, we have scanned through his brain and nothing is wrong”. he said.
“Are you sure? Because the other day when I touched him, he angrily pushed my hand off saying Aurora won’t be happy if she sees another woman touching him”. Elizabeth said.
“As I said, he is fine, he is behaving like that because of the deep affection he had for her and she won’t be easily forgotten by him because the memory is stuck in his brain”.
“Really doctor?” Richard asked and He nodded.
“Don’t you think that will affect his mental stability?”. Elizabeth asked.
” He will be fine, let’s give him time to fully recover”. he said and they sighed tiredly.

Later in the day, Alex was discharged and brought home. he refused to go with his mother after she persuaded him to come stay with them until he got over the trauma.
“Will you be ok?”. Richard asked.
” Yes”.he replied
“Should I help you with anything?”.
” No, Richard, am fine”.
“Ok, if you say so, I will see you tomorrow”. He walked away and Alex left for his room.

Two days later, Richard made the announcement to everyone in his family about Nina’s pregnancy, everyone was excited and they planned to throw a little party for her, but she refused and they understood why she refused.
The next day, Richard came to Alex’s house with Nina and they were surprised to see Aurora’s photos at every corner of the wall in the house.
” Oh, my, her photo is literally everywhere”. Nina said.
“Yeah, and it even makes the house more beautiful”.
” Exactly!”.
“Welcome sir, welcome ma”. Kate interrupted them as she bowed and they responded to him.
” Is Alex home?”.
“Yes, he hasn’t stepped out of his room for two days now”. She said and they panicked.
” Hope he hasn’t done anything stupid”. Richard said and rushed to his doorstep with Nina beside him. He rings the doorbell severally calling out to his name. “Alex, Alex, are you in there?”.
” What!”. Alex responded through the voice recorder and they sighed in relief.
“Are you ok?”.
” Am fine”.
“Open the door and let me confirm”. he said there was a crack in the door, it opened and they went inside. ” Oh my”. they were surprised to see Aurora’s photo everywhere in the bedroom.
“How are you feeling Mr. Alex?”. Nina asked.
” Am fine, you and your fiancee should stop worrying about me”.
” We are just concerned”. Richard said. “Why haven’t you come out of your room for days?”.
” What is wrong with that? Can’t I have a quiet moment with my wife anymore”. he said. Richard and Nina stared at each other and sighed.
“We brought you something”. Nina said as she brought out a little box from the bag she was holding.” I baked some cookies for you, it’s Aurora’s favorite”.She said and Alex took it from her.
“Thank you”.
” You are welcome”. They smiled at him and he stared at the cookies.
