Zane stared at like she was an alien, she chased a thief because of a lollipop?
“I have more than one so I couldn’t let them go like that” she shrugged and glared at him
“Are you going to judge me now?”
“No no, like I had said you did a great job”
She grinned and stood on her toes, kssing his cheeks shortly
“Why not my lips?” Zane asked naughtily
“What if someone comes in?”
“This is a private elevator for me, the guys and our secretaries only and besides we’re married for God sake”
“It just feels alien sometimes, how I got married and now I’m pregnant for a handsome…..”
She kept going on and on, Zane took everything in him not to groan loudly, is this how pregnant women behave?
Though she’s been like this for weeks now but actually finding out that she’s pregnant just makes Zane notice how complicated pregnant women can be
“How’s Gary and Frenchie doing?” She asked as the elevator opened and they stepped out heading for Zane’s office
“Uhh.. they’re coping well I guess” Zane replied

“Here are the files you asked for sir” Frenchie said dropping a stack of files on Gary’s table
“These are the files?, Why are they so much?” Gary asked
“I have no idea sir”
“You can go” he dismissed
She bowed a bit and left without saying a word, Gary stared at her retreating figure until she passed the door
He signed and room of his glasses, he rakes his hair with his hands in frustration
They haven’t talked to each other since the incident in his car and she has been giving him a lot of space, he doesn’t even know how to apologise
He quickly dialed Layla’s number, she was the only option he had and the only hopeful person
Not like Annalise even came across his mind, the girl is as hopeless as he was
“Hello” Layla said after picking up
“Hey it’s me, are you busy?” Gary asked
“I’m at work, is there a problem?”
“I want you to help me with something” he said
“Sure, anything”
He explained everything to her and she didn’t interrupt until he was done
“I really have no idea what I’m gonna do” he said finally
“Invite her over for dinner and apologize”
“What part of the she’s been really distant and only talk to me about work related stuffs, not actual talking though more like a question and cold answers conversation”
“Then tell her to meet you at a restaurant, lie that you’re meeting with a client and then but her dinner, apologize and boom everything is settled” Layla said and Gary breathed out in relief
“Thank you so much Layla, you’re a life saver” Gary said
“Ouch, stop it bunny” Layla laughed over the phone and Gary creased his brows, Kai was the only one Layla called bunny
“Are you with kai?” Gary asked
“Yeah” Layla replied
“I thought you said you’re at work” Gary asked
“I’m at work with my boyfriend in his house, I’ve given you the advice you needed”
“Stop calling my girlfriend dude” kai’s voice sounded coldly at the other end
“Hey.. LET THE SINGLES BREATH!!” Gary yelled but Kai only hung up the call
