ALEXANDER POV
I got home to notice Nora wasn’t around, I asked Kate her whereabouts and she had no idea, I tried reaching her countless times but her phone wasn’t connecting. I sighed and began eating my meal just then a text message came through my phone, I glanced through it to see it was a message from Nora.
💬”I won’t be home today, I will be back by tomorrow evening, don’t worry about me, I am with my friends for a girl’s night”. she texted. and I continued eating with less worry about her.
The next morning, I rushed to the office to attend the board meeting, I couldn’t concentrate on what was happening because my gaze and attention were on Aurora because she was sitting next to me, I became so hard that I forgot we were able to in a meeting, just then I slide my hand under her skirt and she flinched trying to maintain her posture, she gave me a slight look and I smile at her, she tries adjusting herself from me, but I drag her back slowly so no one will notice what was going on, but apparently no one was looking, because they were all focus on the illustration going on, on the big board.
She picked up her phone and I noticed her typing on her phone and then my phone beeped, I took my phone to read what she sent.
💬” Mr Alex, what do you think you are doing right now, we are in the meeting remember”. She texted and I smiled.
💬”Well, I can’t help it, you are too tempting to resist”. I texted back and she chuckled after reading it.
💬”Should I change my seat?”.
💬”Don’t you dare!”.
💬”Fine! Don’t distract me again”.
💬”I can’t help it, but I will wait until after the meeting, we have unfinished business”.
We ended the text and continued paying attention to the person illustrating on the board.
The meeting took two hours and I was exhausted, I got to my office and started piling up some work.
“Sir, you are having a meeting with Mr. Cliff by four pm at–“.
I cut her short.” Cancel it”.
“Done”. She said.” is there something else you want me to do for you?”.
“Yes, I am kinda exhausted, I think I need a massage”. I said.
” Then I will book an appointment for you at the spa”.She said.
“I don’t want that, give me a hand massage, would you?”.I said and she hesitated for a while before she walked up to me.
” Where should I start from?”.
“From my head down to my shoulders”. I said and she started the massage.” Gosh, you are so good, I wish you could do this more often”. I said and then her stomach growled.”Are you hungry?”
“I think so”. She replied.
” Okay, let’s go out together and go have lunch”.
“You think that is appropriate?”.
” Why? You don’t want to go out with me?”. I asked and she stopped the massage and let out a sigh.
“I do, but–“.
I interrupted her.” But what?”. I held her hand and she leaned on the desk in front of me.
“I don’t want to cause an attraction, you know you just got engaged to Nora and the press are everywhere trying to get information about you, I don’t want any of them to see us together and then get the wrong impression about us”. She said and I sensed the truth in what she was saying and it hurt me to know I can’t do anything.
” But I want to hang out with you, I have missed our moment together”.
“Me too, but we have to keep it slow”. She leaned her face closer and kissed my lips.” I need to head to the canteen, see you later”.
She walks away smiling and I stare after her.
Later in the day, I got home and noticed Nora wasn’t back yet, I was about to call her when she walked in looking wry.
“Hey”. She said trying to hide what she was feeling.
” Are you okay?”. I asked.
“Yes, everything is fine, am sorry I took so long, were you worried about me?”. She asked.
” You should go in and freshen up, dinner will be set soon”.
“Okay”. She walks away and stares after her knowing fully well something is wrong with her.
Some minutes later, we started eating and I saw her eating sluggishly.
” Is there something you want to tell me?”. I asked and she raised her face to me.
“Something like what?”.
” I don’t know, you don’t look fine to me, do you want me to call the doctor?”. I asked and she snapped.
“No! Am fine, nothing is wrong with me, am just having a bad day”. She said.
” Why? Did something happen at the girl’s night with your friends?”.
“Girl’s night?”. She wondered confusedly.
” Yes, you sent me a text message last night that you were having a girl’s night with your friends”.
“Oh, yeah”. She laughed nervously.” I almost forgot”.
“So, did something happen?”.
” Not really”.
“Then, why are you having a bad day?”.
” I don’t know, maybe is the pregnancy hormones”.
“Okay, if you say so”. I said and we continued eating.

NARRATOR POV
Nina was coming out of the supermarket with a shopping bag when someone called her from behind, she turned to see it was the same guy she pumped into at the company.
” Hey, you”. She said.
👨💼”Hey, did you come here to shop as well?”.
“Yes, is one of my favorite supermarkets”.
👨💼” Really? So do I”.
“That’s good to know”. They chuckled.
👨💼” By the way, am Nathan, I didn’t get the chance to introduce myself to you that day”.
“Am Nina”.
” Nice to meet you”.
“Same here”.
They smiled at each other, and then Richard was driving by, he caught sight of them and watched them for a while before he drove off.
” Will you be chance by the weekend? I would love to hang out with you”.
“Yeah”.
” Okay, let’s watch movies together, what do you think?”.
“Sure no problem”. They exchange numbers and he walks away. ” He seems nice”. She said and walked away.
She came to the bus stop and sat down waiting for the bus, then a car horn at her, she raised her face to see who it was.
“Going my way?”. Richard asked smiling.
Although he parked at the side of the road waiting for her to finish chatting with the unknown guy. Nina smiled at him and stood up.
” Not really, am waiting for the bus” She replied.
“Hop in let me take you Home”. He said and Nina moved to the car and entered the driver’s seat. he smiled at her and then zoomed off.
” Did you come around here for shopping?”. He asked seeing some foodstuff in the backseat.
“Yeah, I ran out of foodstuff, so I decided to do some shopping”.
” Okay”.
“Are you busy?”.
” Huh? busy on what?”.
“I mean, do you have something to do at home now?”.
” Not really, why do you ask?”.
“Um, because I want you to have dinner with me at my house”. he said and Nina was surprised.” Do you mind?”.
“Um, not at all, am not busy”. she sputtered.
” Okay then”. he smiles and increases the speed of the car.
Some minutes later, they arrived at the mansion and Richard Park at the garage. Nina helped him with the shopping bag and she left her own in the car. They went inside straight to the kitchen.
“What can I do to help?”. She asked.
” Nothing, just make yourself comfortable and wait for dinner to be ready”.
“But I don’t mind helping”.
” Well, I do, you are my guest”.
“Um, ok, if you say so”. She left the kitchen to the living room and sat down to observe the room, then she brought out her phone and sent a message to Aurora.
💬” Guess where I am right now?”. she typed.
💬”Where? Are you in the clubhouse?”. Aurora replied quickly.
💬”Far from that”.
💬”Where are you then?”.
💬”In my prince charming house”.
💬”Really? How? Did he ask you out again?”.
💬”Something like that, he saw me at the bus stop and decided to give me a lift home, but unfortunately, he asked me to have dinner with him at his house, and right now, he preparing dinner for the two of us”.
💬”Aw! That’s so sweet, am super happy for you”.
💬”Uh-huh, I wish there was more to this”.
💬”I guess he is trying to push his luck with you”.
💬”You think so?”.
💬”I guess so, but, anyway, break a leg and have fun”.
They ended the chat and Nina sighed happily. An hour later, the food was ready and she helped dish the food on the dining table despite Richard telling her not to, but she insisted. Soon they began eating.
“Wow! This tastes nice, you are the best cook”. Nina said.
” Thanks”.
“But I still wonder how you learn cooking skills, you cook better than a woman”.
” Well, I learned it from my mom, she was a great chef”.
“Woah, no wonder you cook best”.
” You think?”.
“I do, your girlfriend is so lucky to have a guy like you that can cook”.
” Girlfriend?”. He asked.
“Yeah”. She said and Richard giggled.
” I don’t have a girlfriend”. He said and Nina was surprised.
“Y-y-you don’t?”. She sputtered and Richard rolled his head as he continued eating, Nina smiled secretly to herself and continued eating.
An hour later, Richard drove her home and he parked in front of her apartment.
” I guess we are here”.
“Yeah, thank you very much, today dinner was amazing”.
” Thank you for accepting to have dinner with me”.
“Who am I to reject such an offer”. She blushed and Richard smiled.” I will head back inside”.
“Ok, Good night”.
” Good night”. She tried to take off her seatbelt, but it was stuck.
“Hold on let me help”. He pushed closer to her and Nina’s heart flinched at his closeness, she closed her eyes tightly in other control her heart from jumping out from her chest.” Done”. He said and Nina opened her eyes to meet his.
Their eyes got interlocked, and just then she regained herself and rushed down from the car with her shopping bag and ran inside. Richard smiled after her and zoomed off.
Meanwhile, Nina near against the door with her hand on her chest.
“That was a close one”. She said and then let out a faintly smile.” At least I got to look at his eyes, they are so beautiful”. She said happily.
