A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 101 – 110

Her hate would mean nothing, but her weakness—the vulnerability that came with it—was almost exquisite. The perfect display of human fragility. And yet, what she said next left me… curious.

“Help me,” she whispered, voice eerily calm, her tone betraying none of the anger or accusations I’d expected. The plea hung between us, tentative yet desperate.

“Help you?” I raised an eyebrow, holding back a smirk. She had no idea what she was asking.

She nodded, stepping closer. Every movement was slow, as though the weight of her grief held her back, yet she pressed forward.

Her gaze never left mine, and I found myself captivated by the raw emptiness in her expression.

“I’ll make a deal with you,” she said, her voice thick with unshed tears. “I’ll do anything… just please, bring Liam back to me.”

Her words reverberated through me, igniting something deep and dark within. *Anything.* Such a small word, yet it carried so much promise, so much unrestrained devotion.

The very thing that mortals clung to in their desperation was now offered freely to me, placed at my feet like an unguarded treasure.

Her body quivered, on the verge of collapse, but her desperation held her upright. “Please,” she whispered, her voice cracking. “Bring him back.”

A flicker of satisfaction coursed through me. How fitting, that she would come to me, broken and hollow, begging for a bargain. Still, I had to play my part; I had to savor this moment, draw it out, relish in her anguish.

“And what would you offer me, Selene?” I asked, my voice soft, almost mocking, as I took a step closer, looking down into her haunted eyes. “What would you give for the life of that foolish mortal?”

Her hands clenched into fists at her sides, and for a moment, a flash of defiance sparked in her gaze before it was extinguished, overtaken by despair. “Anything,” she repeated, her voice barely a whisper. “I’ll do whatever you want. I’ll serve you… I’ll obey you.”

I let my gaze linger on her, the broken girl who’d once dared to resist me, now reduced to nothing more than a supplicant at my mercy.

The corners of my lips curved into a faint smile as I considered her words, savoring the raw, unfiltered desperation radiating from her.

“Do you even understand what you’re asking?” I murmured, my tone filled with dark amusement. “To bring someone back from death isn’t as simple as you might think.”

She flinched at my words, yet didn’t back down. Her shoulders squared, as if she were summoning whatever shred of resolve she had left. “I don’t care how difficult it is,” she replied, her voice trembling. “Just tell me what I have to do.”

I tilted my head, letting a pause settle between us, thick and heavy. “your soul ” a smile move to my lips” I want your soul”

“Yes,” she said, voice steady, though her body still shook. “If that’s what it takes, then yes. I’ll give up whatever you ask of me.”

I step close “But remember, Selene… everything comes at a price. And you will pay yours in full.”
