A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 151 – 160
Her small hands felt like iron clamps, holding me in place. No matter how much I struggled, her grip didn’t falter.
“What are you?” I gasped, my voice trembling with fear.
She tilted her head back and let out a high-pitched, eerie laugh that echoed in my ears. “Your death,” she said simply, her voice suddenly dripping with malice.
Before I could react, her hands shot to the back of my head and shoved me downward. My face hit the water with a splash, and I instinctively held my breath.
But I couldn’t move.
Her strength was unimaginable. She looked like a child, but the force she used to hold me down was monstrous. I kicked my legs, the heels of my feet slamming against the porcelain tub in desperation. The impact sent jarring pain through my legs, but the tub didn’t crack.
My hands clawed at the sides of the tub, searching for something—anything—to grab onto, but my fingers slipped uselessly on the slick surface.
Her laughter rang in my ears, growing louder and louder until it drowned out every other sound.
My lungs burned as my body begged for air, and I twisted frantically, trying to throw her off. But it was no use. The water was all-encompassing, its weight pressing down on me like a shroud. My vision blurred, and black spots danced across my sight as my strength waned.
This can’t be how it ends.
I thought of Lucifer. His face flashed in my mind—his dark smirk, his piercing eyes. Would he find me like this? Would he even care?
The thought sent a jolt of anger through me, and I fought harder. My legs slammed against the tub again, the sound dull under the water. My arms strained against the force holding me down, and my fingers found the edge of the tub.
I gripped it tightly, using every ounce of strength I had left to pull myself up.
But it wasn’t enough.
The child’s laughter grew louder, her voice echoing in my head even though I couldn’t hear anything else.
“Just let go,” she whispered, her voice chillingly calm. “It’ll be easier that way.”
No!
My body screamed for oxygen, and I couldn’t hold out any longer. My lips parted involuntarily, and water rushed into my mouth, filling my lungs. The icy chill of it spread through my chest, and my body convulsed in panic.
This is it.
The thought was distant, detached, as if it wasn’t my own. My vision darkened further, and my arms fell limply to my sides.
Just as I was on the verge of losing consciousness, the pressure on my head lifted. My body surged upward instinctively, and I broke to the surface with a gasping, desperate inhale.
I coughed violently, water spilling from my mouth as I clung to the edge of the tub. My entire body trembled, and my chest heaved with every ragged breath.
When I finally opened my eyes, the bathroom was empty.
The child was gone.
But the cold lingered. The bathroom felt like a frozen tomb, and the faint sound of her laughter still echoed in my ears.
I curled up in the tub, wrapping my arms around myself as tears streamed down my face. My body was wracked with shivers, and I couldn’t tell if it was from the cold or the terror that still clung to me.
Who—or what—was she?
And why was she after me?
Just on cue, Lucifer rush in, I look up to meet his confused expression, more tears flow down from my eyes.
” Am scared “.
