A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 171 – 180
Lucien gasped for breath, his face turning red as the demon’s grip tightened. I wanted to reach out to him, to let him know I was there, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t move. I could only watch as the situation spiraled further out of control.
The other demons joined in, their laughter echoing off the walls as they taunted Lucien.
They kept hitting his face while he remain powerless on the floor, blood kept splashing “You think you can take on the darkness? You’re nothing but a child playing at heroism.”
With a swift motion, they tossed Lucien to the wall, where he landed hard, gasping for air. I felt a pang of despair as I watched him struggle, the fight slowly draining from him.
I knew he was trying to protect me, but the reality was that he was only putting himself in danger.
“Let him go!” I finally managed to shout, my voice trembling. But the words felt hollow, useless against the overwhelming presence of the demons.
“Why should we?” one of them sneered, stepping forward to loom over me. “He’s just a puppet, and you’re the reason he has lost Lucifer’s favor.”
I felt a surge of anger rise within me, mingled with fear. ” You’re just Lucifer’s pet!” I shouted, surprising myself with the intensity of my voice. But my defiance felt small against the demons’ malice.
Lucien scrambled to his feet, determination flashing in his eyes as he faced them again. “You won’t get away with this!” he declared, though his voice wavered slightly.
The demons merely chuckled, their amusement at his bravery palpable. “Oh, but we already have,” one of them said, stepping closer to Lucien, its three eyes glinting with malicious delight.
Before I could take in what happened, the demon pull out Lucien’s right leg, his blood splash on my face and his scream fill the entire room, I remain seated, tears rolling from my eyes
I couldn’t move.
“Lucifer, please,” I whispered, feeling tears prick at the corners of my eyes. I wanted to reach out, to tell him to stop, but I felt trapped in my own fear. ” Am sorry, please stop this” I said it out, hoping Lucifer was close but I had no response.
Have I truly lost his favor?
The demons continued to taunt him, and I could see the live draining from Lucien’s expression.
But the demons only laughed harder, their voices echoing cruelly in the room. They pulled out his second leg and my body won’t stop trembling, I watch them eat both of his legs, Lucien look dead.
I remained seated, my body heavy with despair, as the chaos around me unfolded. Tears streamed down my cheeks, a silent testament to the turmoil within. I was tired—tired of the fear, the regret, and the haunting realization of what I had witnessed.
“Lucifer!” I cried out, my voice cracking under the weight of my desperation. “Please! Stop this! Punish me instead!” My heart raced as I realized how futile my words felt, but I had to try.
I couldn’t bear the thought of what might happen next, the image of Lucien’s terrified face etched into my mind.
Each second stretched into eternity, my pleas hanging in the air like a fragile thread. The demons paused, their attention momentarily shifting to me, their eyes gleaming with a twisted delight.
I felt their gaze pierce through me, a reminder of my helplessness. I wanted to look away, to escape the horror, but I was rooted to the spot, paralyzed by fear and guilt.
Minutes crawled by, each tick of the clock echoing in my ears. Then, finally, the atmosphere shifted. The door creaked open, and in walked Lucifer.
Time seemed to pause. My breath caught in my throat as I took in his presence. His face was a mask of fury, an anger so intense it sent a shiver down my spine. I had never seen him like this before—his usual confidence was replaced by something darker, more primal.
“Lucifer…” I whispered, my heart racing as I gazed into his stormy eyes.
He scanned the room, taking in the scene—the demons surrounding me, the chaos they had unleashed. I could see his anger rise, palpable and electric. My heart sank as I realized the weight of my actions had drawn this wrath upon us all.
I couldn’t find the words. The weight of my choices pressed down on me. “I… I didn’t mean to…” I stammered, the truth feeling impossibly inadequate. The pity I felt for Lucien washed over me again, but it was mixed with the sharp sting of my own regret.
His gaze shifted to Lucien, who lay on the ground, the remnants of what had been a man now reduced to a pitiful figure. The sight of him, vulnerable and broken, twisted my heart.
“Please,” I begged, my voice barely above a whisper. “He didn’t deserve this. Not like this.”
Lucifer’s expression hardened. “You think this is about him?” His words cut through the air, sharp and unforgiving. “You’ve betrayed me, Selene. You’ve broken the trust I placed in you.”
I felt the tears spill over, my emotions pouring out uncontrollably. “I know! I know I messed up! But please, don’t punish him for my mistakes!”
The demons watched with glee, their eyes glimmering with anticipation. I could feel their energy shifting, ready to pounce on any sign of weakness.
Lucifer’s jaw clenched, the fury radiating from him palpable. “You think you can plead for his life? Another man’s life?” Lucifer’s voice increased ” in front of me!!!!”
