A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 191 – 200
Anna sighed, her small body shifting under the covers. “I don’t want to leave you, Father. I want to stay and help you.” Her voice was thick with emotion, changing the conversation.
“You’ve done more than you know,” I said, placing a hand on her forehead. “You should rest.”
“Will you stay with me?” she asked, her voice small and fragile. “Just for a little while?”
“Of course,” I replied, settling in beside her on the bed. I wrapped my arms around her, feeling the warmth of her small body against mine. “I’m here.”
We sat in silence for a moment, the weight of unspoken words filling the space between us. Anna’s breathing slowed, and I could feel her tension easing as she relaxed against me. I wished I could shield her from the inevitable, to keep her safe and whole.
“Father,” she said after a while, breaking the silence. “Do you think I’ll see Mom again?”
The question hung in the air, heavy with longing. I hesitated, the memories flooding back—anna mum will definitely be in hell “I believe you will,” I finally said, my voice firm. “In some form, you will find her again.”
Anna smiled softly, her eyes fluttering as she began to drift off. “Promise?”
“I promise,” I whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead.
As I held her, I couldn’t shake the feeling of dread coiling in my stomach.
The truth about Selene, about what she could become, loomed over me like a storm cloud. What if she discovered the truth about herself? What if she came to hate me for keeping her in the dark?
But the way Anna looked at me, trusting and innocent, made me realize that perhaps it was time to confront my fears. I had to protect Selene, yes, but I also had to let her in.
The minutes passed, and I noticed Anna draw her last breath, her body remain in my arms but lifeless, I did not move, just remain in that position…. She truly died, I couldn’t give her enought life, I couldn’t keep my own child alive.
” What a cruel world” tears did not drop from my eyes, it was not enough to make me cry but I did feel sadness, even if it was just a split second, I felt it, to my bones.

THE TRUTH 1
SELENE SMILED.
I woke up to the strange absence of warmth beside me. The sheets were cool, and the faint scent of Lucifer’s presence lingered, but he was nowhere to be found.
A sense of unease crept into my chest as I swung my legs over the side of the bed. The room was dimly lit, the curtains drawn tight against the morning light, casting long shadows that seemed to dance across the floor.
I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and stood up, the coolness of the floor sending a shiver up my spine.
Something felt off, and I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. As I made my way to the door, a weight settled in my stomach, an instinctual warning that something was amiss.
I quickly put on my clothes
Opening the door, I stepped into the hallway and was immediately struck by the sight before me. The usually bustling corridor was eerily silent, and as I glanced around, I noticed the maids moving about in somber black attire.
Their expressions were solemn, eyes downcast, as they whispered among themselves, casting furtive glances at each other. The atmosphere felt heavy, thick with an unspoken grief.
“Mirabel,” I called out. She turned, and her eyes widened with surprise as she saw me.
“Selene” she exclaimed, rushing over. But the light in her voice was overshadowed by the sadness that clung to her like a shroud.
“What’s going on? Why is everyone dressed in black?” I asked, my heart racing. “Is something wrong?”
Her face fell, and for a moment, she hesitated, as if weighing her words. “It’s… it’s Anna,” she finally said, her voice barely above a whisper. “She… she passed away during the night.”
