A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 91 – 100

The sky above, once overcast but visible, had turned black—so deep and vast that I could see nothing beyond it, not even the trees surrounding me.

My breath hitched as I realized I was utterly alone, cloaked in a darkness that felt more like a presence than an absence.

A voice shattered the silence, low and rolling like distant thunder. “Who dares disturb my rest?”

The sound vibrated through me, thick and powerful. I could feel it in my bones, reverberating like an earthquake, each word laced with a disdain that made my skin crawl.

“Who could it be?” the voice mocked, a hint of amusement mixed with something far more sinister. “You pitiful human, disrupting my sleep.”

I swallowed, fighting the instinct to bolt. My blood was pounding in my ears, but I stood firm, planting my feet in the dirt as I forced myself to respond.

“I summoned you,” I said, my voice barely holding steady. “I need your help.” a slow laughter filled the place.

DOOR TO ANOTHER WORLD 1

LUCIFER SMILE

I had no plans of coming back this early but seeing the look on her face, how excited those eyes looked… Staying away was the best decision, I ever made ” stay with me ” I stop her from leaving ” let me show you something” holding her hands, I take her to the balcony.

The hallway was silent, save for the faint rustling of leaves against the nearby window. The moon was unusually bright, casting a pale glow across Selene’s hair, turning her copper locks almost crimson.

She stood just a few paces ahead of me, mesmerized by the cluster of flowers on the windowsill as if they held some secret. I leaned back slightly, studying her with quiet curiosity.

There was something different about her tonight. The usual caution in her eyes was replaced by an unusual brightness, a softness that made me pause. She looked at me, a smile tugging at her lips, a light blush coloring her cheeks.

“It’s strange,” she said, almost to herself, her eyes never leaving the flowers. “How something so simple can survive in a place like this.”

I watched her with interest, my gaze sharp yet guarded. “Strange? How so?”

She turned, finally looking at me, and there was a spark in her eyes. “Because I didn’t think anything could thrive in this horrible place. It feels like a place where things come to hide or… perhaps to die.”

Her words hung in the air, a quiet challenge, and I found myself suppressing a smirk. “You think flowers should only thrive in the sunlight, Selene? There is beauty in shadows, too.”

“Yes, but these shadows feel…” She paused, searching for the right word, her brows knitting together as she thought. “Different. As if there’s something here they should fear.”

I took a step closer, close enough that I could feel her breath hitch as I leaned down slightly. “Are you afraid, Selene?”

Her eyes flicked up to meet mine, and for a moment, I saw something there—a flicker of vulnerability, quickly masked by a light laugh. “Afraid? No.” She shook her head, smiling. “I think it’s more that I’m…curious.”

“Curiosity,” I murmured, watching the way her gaze lingered on my face, “can be a dangerous thing.”

She bit her lip, her fingers trailing along the edge of the windowsill as she spoke. “Why do you say that? Don’t you think curiosity can lead to wonderful things, too?”

I couldn’t hold back a low chuckle, watching as her cheeks deepened in color. “It depends, doesn’t it? Curiosity is only safe if you’re prepared for what you might find.”

She paused, seemingly captivated by my words, before tilting her head slightly. “And are you something dangerous to find?”

I gave her a brief, enigmatic smile. “Most would say yes.” I kept my tone light, though I knew the answer all too well. The mere idea of someone finding me intriguing—or desirable, for that matter—was a novelty.
