The next morning, Mia opened her eyes weakly, she stared around the room and found it strange. She sat upright on the bed as she rubbed her eyes with her pouted lips.

“Where am I?”. She wondered and then last night’s memory flashed in her head, she gasped quickly and looked below if her dress was intact, yes, but she was in someone else white polo but still on her trousers.” Oh my, what happened?”. She felt the fragrance of the shirt familiar with that of Ryan, She stood up quickly and rushed to the door, she was about to open the door, same went with Ryan, the door hit her forehead, and she groaned in pain and Pushed back.

“Oops! am sorry”. Ryan apologizes quickly holding a tray of breakfast, he places it on the table and moves to her.” Are you okay?”. He asked.

Mia raised her face to him and ran into his arms, Ryan was caught off guard by her actions, and then he held her back and caressed her in his arms.

“I thought it was someone else”. she sniffed and they pulled away from each other, Ryan cupped her face.

“You always have me, I will never allow anything to happen to you”. He said smiling and they sat down on the bed.

” What happened last night? How did you find me?”. she asked.

“Someone called to inform me you were in trouble in the clubhouse, My brother and I rushed to the clubhouse to see three guys trying to harass you, we were lucky enough to be there at the right time and I hold all thanks to the person to call to inform us”. he said and Mia sighed sadly.” You don’t have to be sad about it, the guys were caught and dealt with”.

“But why were they trying to do that to me? I didn’t offend anyone”. She sob.

” Don’t cry, Theo is already handling the case, they will tell us who sent them, but can you tell me how it happened?”.

“I was getting ready to go when two of my colleagues came to inform me that there were some people in the VIP lounge who needed my attention, so, I left to attend to them since my colleagues insisted that I was the only one they were requesting for, I was walking along the corridor when another colleague of mine stopped me to help her taste the orange juice she made if it was okay, I take a sip of it and told her she is good to go, not too long after I became dizzy when I got to the doorstep”. she said.

” What?”.

“Yeah, at first I thought it was just because I was stressed, but it became worse as everywhere became blurred”.

” Really? Do you think maybe something was mixed with the drink she gave to you?”.

“I don’t know, but even if it was, but why?”. she questioned confusedly.

” Well, there is only one way to find out”. he said and went mute for a while.”You know what, have your breakfast”. he said as he brought the breakfast closer to her on the bed.

“Did you make this?”.

” Yes, I hope you like it”. he smiles.

“of course, it looks delicious”. she smiled back.

” Enjoy, I will be right back”. he stood up and left to meet Theo at the dining table having his breakfast.” hey, bro, any news?”. he asked as he sat down facing him.

“Yeah, how is Mia? Is she awake?”.

” Yes, she’s fine, did the guys finally speak up on who sent them?”.

“Yes, they have no choice but to talk after receiving the beating of their lives”. Theo said.

” Who was the fool that sent them?”. Ryan asked angrily.

“Relax kid bro, go and freshen up we are going back to the clubhouse, the culprits are there”. he said.

” What?”. Ryan said confusedly.

“Yes, now and freshen up and also inform Mia as well”.

” Ok”. He left for his room.

JAYDEN’S MANSION

Ryan drove Mia to see Maya after she called to inform Maya of what happened to her.

Meanwhile, the girls responsible for what happened to Mia were severely punished, they were severely flogged with twenty strokes of the cane each before they were fired from the clubhouse except one of them who happened to call Ryan and inform him of what was happening, although she was among the plan, but she later had a change of heart. she was only flogged but not fired.

Maya hugged Mia warmly as they sat down in the living room.

I am so happy you are okay. how can those girls be so evil”. Maya said.

“I never wronged any of them, I wonder why they try to set me up”. Mia said.

” That’s because they were jealous of you and Ryan”. Maya said.

“Why? It’s not my fault that Ryan came for me instead of them”.

” That’s what you should be thankful for that you have Ryan by your side, you are sure lucky to have him”. she smiled.

“Indeed I am, if not for him, only God knows what would have befallen me”. Mia said.

” Am happy he was there at the right time to save you”. She said and they smiled at each other.

“So, how is Hayden? Is he sleeping?” Mia asked.

“I guess so, I left him with his father in the room, he is just so addicted to his father’s arms and loves sleeping in them”. Maya said.

” Of course, children tend to feel their father’s warmth more than their mother “. Mia said.

” I guess so, even while he was still inside me, he wouldn’t sleep until he felt his father’s presence around, sometimes I have a hard time sleeping in the noon when Jayden is not around”. She said.

“Aww, I wish to have that kind of experience with mine one day”. Mia said.

” Of course, Ryan will make a perfect father”. She said and they giggled.

Jayden relaxed on the bed with Hayden on his chest sleeping calmly and talking with Ryan who sat down on the sofa.

“Is Mia okay?”. Jayden asked.

” Yes, she is fine, I am so happy I came there on time”. Ryan said.

“What about the morons”.

” Second bro took them to the station”.

“Good, that serves them right, they were lucky I didn’t get my hands on them, they would have begged for death”. He said.

” Yeah”. he sighs.”Why not put the baby on his bed “.

” Nah, if I dare try to put him on his bed he will start crying, he prefers sleeping in my body like this”. Jayden said as he caressed Hayden’s back.

“Aww, he is just a Daddy’s boy”.

” Yeah”. he said and Hayden groaned and started crying.”Oh, what’s wrong my little prince”. he pats his back gently but he continues crying.

“I guess he needs some breast milk”. Ryan.

” But his mother just fed him a while ago before you came”.

“He is a little kid, babies tend to eat once in every minute”. Ryan said.

” Get me his bottle of water on the shelf there, I can’t allow him to stress Maya”. he said and Ryan took the bottle of water from the shelf and gave it to him.”Come, Hayden, open your mouth”. he places the bottle of water in his mouth and he starts sucking from it. Ryan smiles at them.

In an unknown room, two shadows stood facing each other while having a discussion.

: “Why are we wasting time on this?”.

: “Just be patient”.

: ” I am losing it already, let’s get this done with it”.

: “Not yet, let them enjoy their little moment for a while”.

: “You keep delaying this, she and the baby were supposed to be dead by now, but you stop it”.

: “Yeah, because there is a reason”.

They laughed evilly.

At midnight, Jayden was having a nightmare, he jerked up quickly from his sleep and let out a deep sigh. he moved to where the baby was and saw him sleeping calmly on his cot, then he moved to Maya on the bed and cuddled her in his arms warmly. Soon he drifted back to sleep.

The next morning, at the dining table, Maya noticed how paled Jayden was looking.

“Is everything OK?”. She asked.

Jayden raises his face to her.

” No”. he replied.

“Why? What happened?”. She asked curiously.

” Can you promise me never to leave my side, promise me you will never leave me “. he said with sincerity in his eyes.

Maya was confused and she wondered why he asking her that question with all seriousness and sadness written all over him. She stood up and moved to where he was sitting.

” Why are you asking all these questions?”.

Jayden sighed and took her hand firmly staring straight into her eyes.

“Because I am scared to lose you “.

” You are not going to lose me, I am here Jayden”. She said and caressed his face.

“I had a bad dream last night and it was very scary, I don’t know if I can stay if anything happens to you and Hayden”. He said sadly.

” Jayden”.She kissed his lips softly. “I will always be here”. She smiled.” Can you tell me what the dream was like?”.

“It wasn’t like a dream, I thought it was real, you pack all your belongings and said you were tired of me, you said you don’t want me anymore because of the contract we signed”. He sighs and continues.” I begged you to stay, but you ignored me even Hayden was crying for you to stay, but you left without looking back”. He said.

“That was a dream, I promise I will never leave you and Hayden, you two are my life, and love you two so much” ” She kissed his forehead, jayden hugged her from the waist and she caressed his hair.

“I love you, Maya, I can’t help it if you leave me”. He said.

” I promise”.

“You two should get a room”. Diana interrupted them smiling.

They pulled away from each other.

” I thought you won’t come down for breakfast”. Maya said as she left for her seat.

“Did I interrupt something?”. she asked and they chuckled.

” You kind of did”. Jayden said smiling.

“Oops, sorry”. She replied and they laughed.
