Jayden crawled to her and tried to wake her up, Miranda and Amanda were laughing at him.

“aww! What a sad story between the loved bird”. Miranda mocked.

” No, no, no, Maya, please don’t do this, Maya”. He cried trying so hard to wake her up.” Please! Maya!”.

“So long my old friend”. Amanda said and turned to her Men.” Pick her up and throw her in the river, let the sharks feed on her body”. she said.

They obeyed and moved to where Maya was laying down lifelessly, Jayden struggled hard with them not to touch her, but he was too weak, they picked Maya up and threw her down from the bridge

“MAYA!!!”. Jayden screamed as he started crawling to the bridge. ” No!”.

“So sorry for your loss”.Miranda mocked as she pointed her gun at Jayden.” You should join her as well”. She said and was about to pull the trigger when someone shot her leg, she groaned and fell on the ground.

Amanda ran off quickly as all the men were gunned down by the police. Two police officers chased after Amanda but couldn’t catch up with her, the rest got hold of Miranda

“Jayden!”. Theo called and they rushed to him quickly.

” Oh no!”. Diana said.

Jayden managed to stand up with the help of his brother, but he fled from their hands as he rushed to jump over the bridge.

“Jayden!”. Ryan screamed his name and they rushed to pull him down.

” Maya! Maya!”. He continued to scream her name as he kept struggling to get loose from his brothers.”Let me go!”. He yelled and then passed out.

“Jayden! Jayden!”. Theo called trying to wake him up.

Quickly he carried him to the car with the help of the inspector. Diana rushed to Miranda.

” Where is Maya? Where did you keep her?”. She yelled and Miranda laughed.

“She is gone! She is dead in the water”. She laughed evilly and she got a hard slap.

” What did you do?”. Ryan yelled and grabbed her neck tight, the police struggled with him, and she finally let go of her.”You animal”. He said. and the inspector quickly makes a phone call to some swift water rescue.

” You b!stard!”. She yelled as tears crawled down from her eyes.”You will pay for this”. She said and the police took her away.

Diana sniffed, she suddenly felt dizzy and she fell losing consciousness.

“Diana!”.Theo called and rushed to help her to the car.

They drove away leaving the inspector and two police behind. Not too long after the rescuers came and they went deep into the water to look for Maya’s body.

HOSPITAL

Jayden and Diana were rushed into the emergency room. Theo makes a phone call to his parents while Ryan makes a phone call to Mia.

An hour later, everyone was present in the hospital including Ma Lucy.

” Where is Maya, did they find her?”.Mia asked.

“Am afraid something bad happens to Maya”. Theo said and they were surprised.

” What are you talking about?”. Mrs. Williams asked.

“We arrived late”. Ryan said.

” What are you all saying? Can you please go to the point”.Ma Lucy said.

Theo sighed and started explaining everything to them, they paid attention to him, he was done explaining and they were shocked.

“No, that’s not true, nothing bad happens to Maya, right?”. Mia said as tears rolled down from her eyes.

” We just hope she is found alive”. Theo said.

“No, this can’t be, Maya will be found”. Mrs. Williams said

Then the inspector came to the hospital and they rushed to him quickly.

” Any news? Did you find her?”.Mr.williams asked.

The inspector sighs sadly.

“Am sorry, we couldn’t find her body, it was too late, I guess she was swept away by the river or probably eaten by sharks”. He said and everyone was shocked

” No!”. Mia screamed and fell unconscious, Ryan rushed to her quickly.

“Mia!”. He called surprisedly and some nurse came to carry her to one of the wards.

” We only found this necklace in the river”. he said and gave it to Theo “I Am sorry for your loss”. he said and walked away with his men.

Mrs.williams was devastated including Ma Lucy, everyone was weak by the sad news.

” No, no, this is not happening, not my Maya”. Ma lucy sob”.

An hour later, Ryan sat next to Mia on the bed as a drip was fixed on her. slowly, she started to regain consciousness.

“Mia”. Ryan called and She opened her eyes.” Thank Heaven that you are awake, I was worried to death”.He said as he caressed her hair.

“Maya, where is Maya? I want to see Maya”. She said as tears filled her eyes.

” Please Mia, calm down”.

“No, I want to see Maya”. She struggles to stand up but Ryan holds her tight as he hugs her into his arms.” let me go! I want to see Maya! Maya! I want Maya”. She sobs bitterly and Ryan was holding her right as he too was crying silently.

Everyone was present in Jayden’s room as he was still unconscious, his whole body was filled with bruises.

“Doctor, will he be okay?”. Mr. Williams asked.

” Yes, he will be fine for a few days, let’s pray he regains consciousness, there is no bone fracture in his body”. he said.

“Ok, doctor, thank you”. Theo said.

” Sure if you all will excuse me”. he said and walked away.

“Gosh! What’s going to happen now? Jayden is going to lose it”. Theo said.

” This shouldn’t have happened? Maya doesn’t deserve this”. Mrs. Williams sobs.

“How is he going to react to her death”. Ryan said.

” Don’t say that, Maya is not dead, I am sure of it”. Mia said.

Everyone became silent as they fell back into mourning.

Meanwhile, the news spread around the world and Amanda was declared wanted by the police.

The girls couldn’t hold their grieve as they mourned over Maya’s death.

“Why her? She is too innocent for this”. Andrea sobs.

” I don’t believe it, Ms.Maya is not dead,”. Lucy sniff.

“What a cruel world we live in, Hayden is so unfortunate, just a few months after he came into the world, his mother is no longer with him”. Linda said as she dabbed on her eyes.

” God, please, let this be a dream”. Andrea prayed.

Days later, everyone was still mourning and at the same time praying for Jayden to regain consciousness. Hayden has been well taken care of by Diana and Linda, Amma was placed in police custody awaiting trial,

Meanwhile, the police were still in search of Amanda, her face was shown all over the place. Miranda was locked up in jail after they got her leg treated, and the police had to hold onto her case for Jayden to pass judgment.

MR KENT APARTMENT

Mia locked herself in the room for two days and refused to come out, she refused to eat nor talk to anybody. her family was worried she might starve to death.

“Please Mia, open the door, you can’t keep doing this to yourself, do you think Maya will be happy seeing you like this if she were to be alive?”. Mrs.Kent said sadly.

” Leave me alone! Maya is not dead, stop saying that”. Mia sobbed as she yelled at them from the room

“Mia, please!”. Mr. Kent said.

” Am scared, what do we do now?”. Mrs. Kent said confusedly.

“I don’t know, maybe I should call Ryan to inform him of what is happening”. he said.

Ryan was seated at his minibar, lost in deep thought, for the past two days, he had tried to connect to Mia, but she was not picking up.

” Mia please, answer your phone, I am worried”. He said sadly. Just then his phone rang with an unknown caller ID and he picked up quickly.”Hello?” he said and there was a pause.”Yes, this is Ryan, who am I speaking with, please?”. he asked politely and there was a pause.”Oh, am sorry sir, I didn’t recognize your voice”. He smiles.”Is there a problem?”. There was a pause.”Oh geez, I will be right there”. He hung up quickly and rushed to his room.

Diana brought Hayden to the hospital to see his Dad.

“Jayden is time to wake up, Hayden has missed your hug and kisses, you can’t remain here forever, how will you avenge Maya’s death”. She said sadly.” Everyone is worried, Hayden barely takes his Milk, he misses you “. She sniffs.

Jayden was in a trance, he saw himself in a beautiful garden surrounded by beautiful white flowers.

” Where am I?”. He asked as he saw a familiar figure in pure white walking toward him smiling.”Maya?”. He called and rushed to hug her in his arms tight.” I thought I lost you”. He pulled away from her and kissed her forehead.

“Am here now, I will never leave your side, I missed you so much”. Maya said.

” I missed you two”. They hug each other tightly.

Ryan arrived at Mia’s house, he rushed inside to see Mia’s parents at her doorstep.

“Oh, you are here, Mia has refused to open the door for two days now”. Mrs.Kent said.

” Why?”.Ryan asked confusedly. “I even tried calling her, but she was not picking up”. He added.

” Please talk to her, maybe she will open the door once she hears your voice”. Mr. Kent said.

“Okay, you two shouldn’t worry”. he moved closer to the door and knocked. ” Mia, please open up, is me”. He said.

Suddenly there was a crack in the door opening, Mia opened the door and ran into Ryan’s arms sobbing. her parents sighed in relief as her mother rushed to the kitchen to get her something to eat.

“Thank goodness”. Mr. Kent said as he gave them some privacy.

” Gosh! You got me worried”. Ryan said and they pulled away from each other, he caressed her face.”Look at you”.They went inside and they sat on the bed. “Why did you lock yourself in the room? And you even ignored my calls”.

” I just wanted to be left alone”. She sniffs.

“By starving yourself for two days? Do you think I will be happy if anything happens to you? Do you think your parents or even Maya will be happy seeing you like this?”.

” I want to see Maya, she can’t just leave without saying goodbye”. She said and Ryan sighed.

“I understand how you feel, we all feel that way”. He said.

” Maya is not dead, I am sure of that, she might be somewhere”.

“I believe you, I also have the feeling too, please don’t scare me like this again”. He said and hugged her.

Mrs. Kent entered with a tray of food.

” Please make her eat, she hasn’t eaten for two days “. She said.

” Ok ma, I will”.

“Thank you very much, thank you for coming”. She smiles and then walks away.

” You have to eat, I will feed you”. he brought the food closer and started feeding her.
